This pocket-sized book offers a brisk and full-bodied look at tea varieties and grades, teas of the world, and brewing basics, with recipes for tea drinks and accompaniments.
So this was a fun enough read. Got a lot of info about tea, which I love — I like a quick cup of earl grey, but also to blend my own loose tea and steep in pots to enjoy more than one cup without having to get up.
So yeah, a fun little book with funfacts, and actually explaining some things I've been wondering.
The things that pulled this rating down, though, is; 1: the book seemed to contradict itself at times 2: the resepies at the end. They actually took up most of the book. I would have liked to learn how to do different things. Maybe more info on tea outside of those best known traditions...
I love tea and I enjoyed this look into the history and how tea is prepared in various countries. The recipes at the end are intriguing and I look forward to trying a few.
Great little book with a nice overview of the types of tea and countries where tea is grown and cultivated. Also quite a nice list of tea recipes and accompanying yummies!
Nice, but all too brief--and I wish the authors spent more time on the history and botany of tea rather than a collection of recipes. Still, made me thirsty for some Assam and Nilgiri and sent me on a search of Sikkim.
This is really great to have around and very useful for getting into tea, but it's not completely thorough or anything. Still, I really enjoy it and recommend it to everyone.
A charming book with cute illustrations and interesting facts. The handy size makes it great for bringing with you if you want a light read on the bus.
