Ebony Hair. Hateful gods. A prophecy that raises more questions than it answers. Unya never knew that her life would take such a drastic turn, and it all started with a guy on a motorbike and a stranger in a dream. Unya is thrown into a world where sorcerers, Impusa’s Erinyes, and Demigods are an everyday occurrence. If that isn’t enough for her to deal with, she also has an Incubus with boundary issues and a prophecy that seems to be ruling her life. And she doesn’t even know what it is! No one wants to answer her questions and it seems as though all anyone wants to do is mislead her. With her life seeming to become more dangerous by the second and no one on hand to help, she finds herself introduced to a rebel group that could prove more dangerous than the underworld itself.
B.C. Morgan lives in England with her amazing fella, their twin devils (also called kids), and their pets. She’s a lover of all things creative from baking to drawing, if it’s creative she’ll give it a go. For someone who claims to not like people, she somehow always manages to surround herself with friends and family.
While B.C. loves bringing life to all the voices in her head, who demands she tells the world their story, she sometimes wishes they were less homicidal. But alas, what’s a poor author to do when death and destruction is being demanded?! To be fair it isn’t really surprising B.C.’s characters are acting like that, considering she has a list with everyone who’s wronged her. It started with the tooth fairy who didn’t pay for her teeth.
Oh wow what a great start to a series!!! And what, this is the authors debut novel. Crazy!!
Starting off, the book goes somewhat slow, but pretty soon the meat of the story starts coming out and you get hooked. I really found my kindle hard to put down after i really got into the story.
The Characters are well written, you get a sense of having a connection with them. I really like Unya, she is so freaking awesome to read. The guys, well this is a slow burn, but i am for Malachi right now.
This is a great first look into how the series will kick off, there are trigger warning, so heed that. But really this is a great read, and i really need book two please.
I'm in awe of this series. It's mysterious and engaging. The poor Fmc has had rough go and things just keep getting crazy in her life. With new friends and a best friend that sticks by her side, her adventures and the changes in her life just keep coming. The men are super sexy and keep you guessing which one. .. recommended read for sure. I can't wait for book two.
I can't say enough about this book, without spoilers anyway! But, first and foremost...Malachi! I am so rooting for that big oaf! Like all the way, Lawson who? Who's that? Ha, but no i loved him too. Unya is absolutely kicka$$. Her character arc is crampacked with everything you want and I can't wait to see how she makes it through. I can't wait for the next book!
Great debut book from this author, I'm so glad I came across her. A solid start to this series and a fantastic slow burn treat. Characters to become addicted to and I cannot wait for the next instalment in the series.
I found Unya to be just blah. Apparently her character does not feel emotions and I understand that but then it comes across to the reader as a disconnected character with no personality. I felt that Lawson was just as confused. It was just a disconnect for me.
I really enjoyed this book and found the characters really interesting and engaging. They had real depth to them and i found i was intreagued to find out more and this increased as parts of them began to be revealed. This is definitely a slow burn but it fits with the characters and the way they develop. Having this as a fast burn really wouldn't have made any sense. I'm looking forward to reading the next one.
I’m a huge fan of myths and gods. This book had me hooked from the very beginning. Unya has a long road ahead. I cannot wait to see how her relationships with the men in her life grow and develop. I feel like Unya is about to go through a lot of pain and I’m am dying to know how it all turns out for her. Cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!
Oh my goodness! This book had me from paragraph one. I cannot get enough of Unya. She is definitely a boss lady. The author writes in a way that makes you fall in love with the characters and you just want to give them everything in the world. The backstory is intense, so be warned. I can't wait to continue this series and I seriously recommend you pick it up today!
This is definitely slow-burn which I love! I’d rather see their sense of character before romance is thrown in. It was slow in the beginning but it gets better. I received an ARC copy which had misplaced spaces, missing punctuation, and some repeating words that I hope were fixed before going live. However, the errors didn’t stop me from enjoying the story.
This is an amazing read that had me hooked from the moment that I started reading. It moves along at a great pace, has amazing and unique characters that you cannot help but fall in love with and you want to know more about and a story that will not let you down. This book needs to be read and I cannot wait to read book 2.
Good story line but very slow to the punch. I kept waiting for something to really draw me in but never really grabbed ahold of me. I feel like this could have been summed up in a few chapters and then the story line could have really jump started and grabbed me.
I loved this book! BC Morgan’s debut didn’t disappoint. This is a slow burn.. that’s for sure. I felt like we got to know the characters so well though. I cannot wait for the next one in the series!
Im struggling to write this review without giving away any of the brilliant plot. Its dark throughout especially with the physical and mental abuse Unya (FMC) suffered at the hands of family members. Some parts were hard reading for me but i also understood that it gave a basis as to how Unya came to who she was now. I love books that feature Gods & Goddesses so this book was right up my street. I also love the fact that no one in this book is as they seem so Unya is never really sure who to trust. Without a doubt being Lawson & Malachi. I liked Marcus from the beginning and Kat too so Im hoping that they dont turn out to be bad guys? A great start though and with that ending i cant wait for book 2
Great world building. So much unknown in this book that it keeps your turning the page. There are many characters to help Unya discover who and what she is.
