I'm sorry. I guess I am to close to middle age 40 to appreciate the carefree, lighthearted, fun spirit I imagine this book is supposed to be.

I didn't like Syd. Nothing about her was likable. Even Syd's behavior ten years ago was immature and ridiculous. Fast forward ten years and Syd was not only immature, she was rude and ill mannered. With the exception of Jesse's brother, everyone else was likable. A little goofy, but likable. I guess the clue was at the beginning when Syd made the statement about her birthday. The circumstances around that told us what we needed to know.

I will admit Jesse's stunt was not the best idea, but Syd did not have to go along for the ride. I will also concede that Jesse didn't go after Syd either right after, or during that ten year span. But, in his defense, if someone cuts ALL ties with their supposed best friend, I guess I could not really blame him for not tracking her down.

I liked Jesse. He seemed like an intelligent, sweet, sexy guy. I didn't understand what he would want with Syd. He should have left her for his obnoxious brother.

I read two similar books over the weekend. The similarities were in the immaturity of the Female leads. Both in their early thirties, one wishy washy, one rude, both irritating.

I think this could have been an entertaining book if Syd's behavior had not been so crappy.

Jesse Samson and Sydney Underhill were best friends from kindergarten until one night in college when they became more than best friends prompting Sydney to pack up and move across country the next day. But not before Jesse proposed that if they were still not married in ten years that they marry one another.
Ten years later, Sydney is out drinking with her friends on her thirty-second birthday and posts a message on social media to Jesse asking if the offer is still open. This sets in motion Jesse’s butler coming to Sydney’s home the next morning to take her back to his boss’s house. Jesse’s parents find out she’s coming and tip off the press that they are engaged. Since Jesse is Philadelphia’s most eligible bachelor and billionaire the news makes a big splash but doesn’t help Jesse’s cause with Sydney.
Jesse initially talks her into giving him two days to make her see that they could work out as a couple, but her resistance is great causing her to leave the next day.
Although this was an idea with great potential, the main characters don’t show any personal growth or change making the story feel forced into the happily ever after. This was an enjoyable book, but not one of Lindsey Hart’s best.

I didn’t really care for this one. The break was way too long and made zero sense. The characters were both 22 before the lost their virginities to each other, so you would think they could keep it in their pants a little during their separation? But no, both were with many other people while they claim (of course like always even though it’s a joke) that they are in love with each other and basically mourning not being with the other person. Thank his just isn’t a believable love story. They wait until they are 32 freaking years old to bother to get in touch with each other, and we are supposed to buy that they actually love each other... The h was especially awful because she never stops being ready to bail and still won’t marry him for another 3 years after the book takes place. I just don’t buy this as a love story, this and the incredibly too long separation just made this story boring. I need to feel the passion and how much the characters missed each other too buy a second chance story. This author just didn’t do it...

Adorably awkward becomes temptingly assertive. Sydney and Jesse are the consummate what if. There was always a hint of spark, but never at the right time. When the attraction finally explodes, feelings are bound to get messy. Ten years later and 1 pact wiser, let the mess commence. Seducing My Best Friend takes emotions down the road less traveled. Jesse and Sydney know temptation, but the master of seduction proves to Lindsey Hart. I laughed alot cried a smidge and enjoyed myself immensely.

Jesse and Sydney have been best friends since they her in diapers. He was a nerdy type of person and she was a try anything type of girl. One day in college it went a little to far and Sydney ran. He told her if single in 10 years they would marry. Will he be true to his word? What did Sydney do to cause him to contact her? What will she do? Run again? Will he get his wish? Only time will tell.

Babies are so much smarter

Jesse and Sydney met as babies and bonded. Amazing best friends through school and college. They are all grown up and it's like someone threw a switch and they become brainless. Overall quality of writing was really good. No cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ever after. Characters are well rounded, steamy intimacy scenes and a feel good story line. Enjoy

She’s annoying, he needs to man up, she wasn’t kidnapped!

Oh she is sooooo annoying!!!! They were best friends growing up and one crazy night they have sex, and it was amazing. So she panics and runs off.(Erm why??) Ten years later she drunkenly posts on Facebook that she wants to marry him as he said if she was still single that he’d marry her in ten years. He DOESN’T KIDNAP HER, so disappointing. He sends his 60 year old employee to bring her to him. She wasn’t forced to go but she drones on and on that he kidnapped her. Yawn! He tries so hard to get her to be with him. I felt like saying, man up! He’s a really rich businessman that’s begging her to give him a chance. Nope! Not for me.

I wanted to like this but Sydney just….pissed me off from start to finish. Her “reasoning” was bullsh+t and the fact that Jesse tolerated that as an excuse and still wanted her dumb @ss irked me to no end. And she begged him to let her run away again after saying a lot of really sh+tty things to a guy baring his heart and soul. She just….she sucked and didn’t deserve to end up with a sweet guy like Jesse.

Like I enjoy a good story that evokes strong emotions towards a character whether good or bad but she never really “redeemed” herself so it was hard to be happy for her.

Seducing my best friend is a phenomenal story line and I found myself laughing in different parts of the book. I loved the fact you got to hear both sides of the story. Lindsey Hart is a brilliant author and one of my favorite authors i read.

This was not the book described. This book had a manipulative mother who would do whatever it took to get what she wanted. I don't care that she wanted what was best for her son, or that she wanted what he wanted. I hate reading stories where parents manipulate their children. I didn't like the mother, and was not too big a fan of Sydney (the heroine) either.

After a night if drunken sex that was a first for both if them, Jesse felt he lost his best friend and live of his life when she freaked out and ran away across country. Ten years later in an unexpected twist which may have been taken the wrong way they find themselves together agaun.
