After years of being lied to and used, Ellie just wants a new life. On her own terms.
There’s just one small problem. On her way to that new life, she crashes her car during a snow storm and is rescued by a huge hunk of a man. A man who goes by the name of Bear, has thighs as big as tree trunks, and an extreme case of bossiness.

If anyone ever needed a keeper, it was this girl. Bear knows he shouldn’t touch her, shouldn’t get involved, and yet the close quarters of a tiny cabin in a snow storm make him do things he normally wouldn’t.
Like offering her a temporary arrangement, with him as her Daddy Dom.

Contains a hot, alpha Daddy Dom and a woman who needs his special brand of love.

This wasn’t what I thought it was, so I’m not going to rate it because I wasn’t fully informed going into it. But the writing was decent, just this specific subgenre isn’t what I was looking for…but I’m not a quitter 😂

Blah

😒 Not smutty enough 👉 They don't 'consummate' until the last chapter.
😪 Not kinky enough 👉 If I wanted a pamphlet on how to Daddy Dom, I would read that thank you very much.
🥱 Not romantic enough 👉 Hero works long hours every day and the MCs aren't married, nor even engaged by the end. Why are we even here for?

This was the beta-est Daddy ever...

Great Daddy Dom read

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This is just the kind of DD/lg dynamic and relationship that appeals to me. There was some age play but nothing at all extreme and I liked that Ellie didn’t feel comfortable with the world knowing and seeing it and that Bear was totally cool with them just keeping it between the two of them. Bear was a swoon worthy hero: sweet, thoughtful, extremely protective, loving, and dominant, but never in a mean or overly forceful way. Both characters have their own vulnerabilities they deal with but find a lot of comfort and security in loving one another. This was a great Daddy Dom story and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This was a quick and super sexy read! I really loved Bear and Ellie so much. They were just what each other needed. I’m always looking for more books with DDLG and this was just what I was looking for. I love the idea of this ranch and can’t wait to read about the other doms finding their baby girls.

4.3 stars.

Loved this just as much the second time around.
The DD/lg dynamic is so caring and full of love it makes my heart all warm and fuzzy.

So good. So freaking sweet.
This was such a good introduction to the series.
We met 4 of the men who get books, heard of one more, established what a DD/lg relationship could look like, set expectations for how Sanctuary Ranch is run…
This being my third time reading through the series, I can really appreciate how Laylah laid this book out to kick off the series.
…though I AM a bit biased, because I love basically every word she writes…🤷🏻‍♀️

This was well written and a good story.
Personally this dived a little too much into the age play of DD/lg for my liking. But live and let live. ✌🏻

It was very much instalove and I felt it was somewhat boring. It didn’t draw me into the story as much as I was would’ve wanted. Might check out the other books, we shall see.

I loved this wonderfully sweet but sizzling romance between Bear (H/Daddy) & Ellie (h/babygirl).
The plot is tried & true: Ellie gets lost & seriously hurt while driving unfamiliar roads in MT, very little money & gas, FL clothing & a car not meant for snowy terrain/weather which leads to her crashing into a tree on the road. But, luckily as she lays unconscious in her car, Bear stumbles across her & takes her to a cabin on the outreaches of the ranch on which he works.
Due to heavy snowfall & the blocked road, Bear & Ellie are confined together & alone in the cabin while Bear tenderly but firmly cares for Ellie: monitoring her temperature, helping her to the restroom, holding her when she's sick & ensuring she listens to his rules about her care & health. And somehow along the way they venture into a discussion about Daddy Doms & their Littles . . . .
The writing IMO was excellent, it had an extremely smooth flow, never seemed to 'jump' or have any jarring sections that can knock a reader out of the story. I loved Bear, huge, dominant, protective, nurturing, & yet, due to a past failed relationship, unsure & insecure about his rapidly growing strong feelings for Ellie, his desire to be her Daddy & lover, her man, forever.
And I also very much liked Ellie, sweet, trusting, fresh out of a bad family situation, trying to take control of her life but not making good decisions despite her valiant efforts. Frightened, lonely, unsure, until she encounters Bear who soothes her affection starved heart, her nervous mind & her trembling body. And she very soon realizes her desire that she be Bear's babygirl & lover, his woman, forever.
This story had heartwarming love between two truly sweet & deserving people who each needed a 'special someone', had sizzling steam that was hot, had just the right amount of low level angst & tension, of concerning the reader whether Bear & Ellie would be able to surmount their misunderstandings about how the other felt.
If you want a sizzling, loving DD/bg romance I highly recommend this one.

I really wish there were more "Daddy" romances out there with M/F couples that weren't so damn infantilizing. Authors who write M/M seem to have this down pretty well and while I enjoy those very much, I wish I could get some good ones with female characters as well. This one had so much potential, but between the short length and the fact that the author seems to equate "little" with "child"(just a tip, if the Daddy reprimands his little for swearing, you've probably gone way too far into the latter category), I just couldn't give it more than 2 stars, which is unfortunate. I was really hopeful for this series and it let me down. I probably won't read any more of them, at least not right now.

Not for me

I’ve read quite a few BDSM books and some of them features Daddy Doms, so my expectation for this book was the same: a Dom who likes to take care of his submissive, see to her every need, spoil her, and treat her like she’s precious. This book had that and I liked those parts but the parts where Ellie went into Little space made me extremely uncomfortable. I didn’t like that she would revert to a child, start colouring, talk in baby talk saying things like “tummy”, and act like a child. I know that this is a kink, but it was not for me. I found it very bizarre and had to skim large parts of this book.

Absolutely fantastic! A well written emotionally deep romance. The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, enjoyable, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with a few ups and downs and a mix of emotions on every page. The chemistry between them is intense and their love scenes are beautifully written and HOT!

Actually 3.5 stars

Meeting your true love after nearly hitting a tree and getting stranded in a snowstorm is the kind of thing that only happens in romance novels (or Hallmark movies). But it works for newly independent Ellie and her (future) Daddy Dom, Bear. I liked their developing relationship, though the need to push them apart in the middle of the novel had their stubbornness verging on stupidity. Otherwise, this is a good book.

Nothing Sweeter than a Daddy Dom!

This book had me in stitches, I laughed so hard! This is a little taste of the story:

Bear followed Ellie down, lying over her, his weight resting on his forearms which lay on either side of her head, his legs between hers, his cock pressing against her pussy. And there was no mistaking that there was something very hard and very large pressed against her.
“So, you carry bananas in your pocket?” she joked, feeling slightly breathless.
“Baby, if you can’t tell the difference between a banana and a cock, we have some problems.”
“You might have to educate me.”
“First of all, there is nothing squishy about my cock.”
“Got it,” she replied as he pushed against her.
“You cannot peel my cock.”
“Uh-huh.”
“You squeeze it and you’re likely to get a whole different reaction from doing that with a banana.” He grinned down at her. “Biting down is a hard limit. You bite down on my cock, and I’m going to tie you up, put a clit tickler on you and keep you on the edge of orgasm all day.”
“Got it, no eating the banana, umm I mean cock.”
“Of course, you are welcome to suck, lick, and run your hand up and down it.”
“I cannot wait. What about the accompanying mangoes?” she asked.
“Mangoes? We have got to work on your dirty talk.”
”Ooh, is that what this is? I’ve never engaged in dirty talk before.” She grinned.
He quirked one eyebrow. “I couldn’t tell.” She slapped his shoulder playfully. “Just for reference, if they were mangoes, I would have some serious issues with walking normally.”
“Grapes then?” she asked with mock-innocence.
“Grapes!” He gave her an outraged look. “Woman, you are this close to ending up over my knee.” He held up his thumb and forefinger so they were an inch apart.
“I certainly hope that’s not an indication of your banana size.”
“You know damn well it’s not,” he muttered.
“I really think I should help you with that fruit salad problem you have going on,” she whispered in his ear.

This is a fun story. A mountain man - daddy Dom, a young woman who is a Little, and a snowed in cabin all make a delightful story that is hard to put down before the end. This is definitely my favorite Laylah Roberts book!

DNF 30% this felt so theoretical, no tension between both main characters only a lot of explanations. Very strange. This wasn’t a natural flow into a DDLG, it felt forced. Had high hopes.

2020 = 2 stars
2022 = 2 stars (skim read)

This is a fairly well-written Daddy Dom/little girl book, but you have to suspend your sense of disbelief to accept all that happens.

Lots of Instas: insta-attraction, insta-love, insta-acceptance of the DDLG lifestyle, insta-little, insta-sex kitten.

😵‍💫 Some of the Inconsistencies:
⬆ Sweet DDLG parts with little swearing.
⬇ Porny sex scenes with a lot of swearing.

⬆ The h is an innocent virgin.
⬇ The h is a sex pro who gives great blowjobs.

⬆ The h says she's a virgin.
⬇ Later the H asks the h if she's a virgin.

⬆ The h says she's never heard of a Daddy Dom.
⬇ The h talks about her little side, as if she knows about it.

⬆ The h isn't able to take care of herself.
⬇ The h spent years taking care of her parents by herself.

☹️ Tropes I didn't like:
DD: "I'm not good enough. She deserves better."
(The H let the h go at the end, and didn't check on her at all. His friend did, and found out that she wasn't doing well.)

LG: "Bad parents who never loved me."
(The one-dimensional parents were only used to explain why: the h had to leave home with barely any money, clothes, and travel for hundreds of miles).

The "Miscommunication" Trope
(Why I ended up skimming in the second half.)
Good Scanning GIF - Good Scanning Skimming GIFs

🚫 Never again. I'm done.

I had hope for this book. The premise was good but it fell flat. I’m starting to feel like these books just work off a checklist.

He’s a Daddy and a Dom meets a girl who instantly has his “protective” instincts rearing saves her and would you know she just NEEDS someone to take her in hand.

Abusive parents check.

Virgin who instantly takes to foreplay and sex like a pro check.

Nothing very Ddlg takes place except you get a spanking, you get a spanking and You get a spanking check.

A secluded place where the men rule over women and dole out those spankings check

A grown woman who until recently took care of everyone and herself who suddenly can’t be trusted to have basic common sense and keep herself alive and healthy without “Daddy” to keep her in hand. Check

At the beginning she hardly even know what a daddy and a little is but a short while later she somehow is in little space.

Really wanted to like this one but I just couldn’t

Ugh. I love them so much. They’re literally perfect for each other, no question.

~Ellie wants control of her life. She’s tired of being used and lied to. When she crashes her car, Bear is the one to rescue and nurse her back to health. While together, they agree to a short term relationship to introduce Ellie to the DDLG lifestyle.~

Love this story! Bear is so sweet and attentive yet bossy and dominant. He’s a giant teddy bear. Ellie deserves all the attention and affection he has for her. She is a literal sweetheart and so hard on herself - I love that Bear helps her with that. I also love that he gave her the choice to figure out life on her own, what she wanted before meeting him.

Can’t wait for Clint’s story.

Going beyond typical daddy vibes.

This book is not your typical daddy kinkery. This book crosses the line from Dom and sub daddy vibes into borderline having you wonder how far away he is from when he might go for a real child vibes.
Not into the H spanking other female employees.
H has h drink from a sippy cup and says the read end thermometer to check temperatures is for little girls and says if she doesn’t open her mouth she’ll get that one. This is just to give you an idea.
So basically, this crosses over the daddy kinkery into the role play child / actual daddy dom sub roles.
If that’s your jam, this is for you.

Adorable

I liked Bear and Ellie’s story. Ellie definitely needed someone to take care of her. There is a beauty in the need to protect and take care of someone. Liked it.

Story 3,4/5
Erotik 3,4/5
Charaktere 3,6/5
Schreibstil 3,4/5

This was my very first book of this kind, to read. I had no idea this was even a thing. It completely opened my eyes to a whole other world.

I was looking for a mountain man romance book. I honestly thought the series was called Mountain Daddies. I assumed someone got pregnant or something. Yeah, that's not why at all. But apparently I didn't hate it. I read all the way until I got to book 7 and then the main characters name was a close family members name and I struggled separating that.

Fmc Ellie has had enough and decided to move out of her parents house and across the country to a house she inherited. She isn't very experienced in life and taking care of her self properly so she wasn't properly prepared for the environment she was moving to. Ellie ends up crashing her car and knocking herself out. Mmc Bear, (absolutely loved the name the author chose. The image I have of a guy everyone calls Bear is delicious). Well Bear comes across the wrecked car, gets Ellie out of the car which was probably pretty easy for a guy they call Bear. And takes her to a cabin his buddy owns. The road conditions and storms have trapped them in so Bear is having, and very willingly, taking care of this cute women he found in distress. Bear lives a different kind of lifestyle than Ellie (and myself) had heard of. So she was a little surprised and unsure.

This was such a cute and informative story to me. I loved their relationship. I loved Bear and have read this specific book a few times. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but it may be the cup of tea you didn't know you needed. Definitely give it a shot. I absolutely loved everything about it!

This is exactly the kind of Daddy book I love to read. Sweet daddies who love to care for their littles and Daddy Bear was perfect. This book made me smile.

I’m glad the whole talk about expectations and using a safe word was in here because I’ve read some books without that and it didn’t feel right. So even though Ellie didn’t want spankings or cried or whatever, I knew in the back of my mind while reading those scenes that she could always stop it at any time.

Daddy Bear and Ellie didn’t end up finally having sex until about 90% but the rest of the book leading up to that was still pretty hot. I just really enjoyed their emotional connection and that made it all the better.

Plus we got some introductions to other characters like Clint and Linc and I’m looking forward to reading their books.

Definitely planning to continue on with this series and if those Daddies are anything like Daddy Bear was, I’ll really enjoy those too.

TLDR: I am ashamed.

Plot Summary:

So I honestly can't remember why Ellie (FMC) is driving at night, but she is and her car swerves, and she crashes. She happens to crash in Montana where this "Sanctuary" (as they call it) is of people who live a specific lifestyle..... I think you know what I mean. Anyways, this dude named Bear (MMC) (we never get to know his name) sees her and nurses her to health.

Why did I read this?

Tik Tok is always recommending me the worst shit. What started as curiosity then was like watching a car crash that hit an elementary school. I couldn't stop reading. I was not expecting them to lean that hard into the kink, and I was as fascinated as I was horrified.

“Yes. Would you like some time to think about it?” He really didn’t think she was going to go for it. Why would she? She barely knew him. “I don’t need any time. I agree…D-daddy.”

This was a toe-dip into the world of dd-lg and I can't say I didn't enjoy it! I did wonder if part of the reason why I enjoyed it was because you could almost Either way I was here for it and will definitely try more in this little sub-genre. The story itself was really easy to read too, nothing too technical or OTT language. I could see working my way through the rest of this series!
