The first rule of book club:
You don't talk about book club.
Alexis Carlisle and her cat café, ToeBeans, have shot to fame after she came forward as a victim of a celebrity chef's sexual harassment. When a new customer approaches to confide in her, the last thing Alexis expects is for the woman to claim they're sisters. Unsure what to do, Alexis turns to the only man she trusts - her best friend, Noah Logan.
Computer genius Noah left his rebellious teenage hacker past behind to become a computer security expert. Now he only uses his old skills for the right cause. But Noah's got a secret: He's madly in love with Alexis. When she asks for his help, he wonders if the timing will ever be right to confess his crush.
Noah's pals in The Bromance Book Club are more than willing to share their beloved 'manuals' to help him go from bud to boyfriend. But he must decide if telling the truth is worth risking the best friendship he's ever had.

“You know what I love most about the books?”
“I love how they can make us cheer for pretty much any character if we just understand why they’re doing something. We’ll let them get away with pretty much anything—including pushing away the woman they desperately want—if they have a strong motivation. The why behind their actions.”

“You are my best friend, Noah Logan. Forever.”
“The best love affairs start as friendships.”

Now Gavin looked panicked. “What if we fart?”
Noah swallowed hard. “Does that happen?”
“She’s gonna be pushing on things,” Gavin said. “It could shake something loose.”
Del snorted. “That’s stupid. Do you accidentally fart during sex?”
There was a mixed chorus of nos and at least two yeses.
“Who the fuck said yes?” Mack demanded.
No one owned up to it.
“Come here,” he rasped. He opened his arms to her. She fell into them, and it felt like coming home after a long trip. Home to a place she belonged, where she was safe and desired and cared about.
“It’s a romance. I would assume they end up together and live happily ever after.” Malcolm nodded. “Exactly. All romances end that way. Even though readers know the minute they pick up romances how they’re going to end, they still read them loyally. Why do you suppose that is?”
“The sex?” Colton slapped the table again. “No. Wrong answer.”
“It’s the journey,” Malcolm said. “It’s how they get to that happily ever after that matters and makes these books so special and instructive.”
“The journey.”
“You are my best friend, Noah Logan. Forever.”
