Jax and Nikki were neighbors. Her car broke down and Jax fixed it for free. They had gone to high school together. She was divorced with a daughter, Kaylie.
Eliza Jayne Peters lives in Michigan where she is never more than two hours away from a bustling city, a magical woods or the Great Lakes. The diversity of the landscape and people make for an interesting life and great stories.
She divides her time between meeting new characters that inspire her, and quiet time alone with her naughty dreams and developing plotlines.
Nikki suffers from domestic abuse by the hands of her husband. I felt sad for her situation, but happy for her courage to stand up to him. She deserves and wants the happiness she finds with Jax, but she has a hard time learning to trust herself and others, and to move beyond the decisions she made in the past.
After Nikki discloses the abuse she suffered, we quickly have the privilege of watching her test her new found courage and her heart with her hottie neighbour, who is also a sweetheart under those tattoos.
This is not a run of the mill romance novel. It has sensitive topics, mixed with humour, lovable characters who you root for, steamy sex and plot twists, and it works.
Nikki just got out of an abusive marriage. Her and her daughter are finally on there own and safe, or so Nikki thinks. When her car won’t start one morning her neighbor comes to her rescue. Little did she know then that he was actually someone from her past that has changed a lot over the last 20 years. When her daughters life is in danger the last person she expects to help her steps up and will stop at nothing to keep them safe. 🖤🖤
The misconception of bikers throws Nikki for a loop when this hard looking guy helps her out after a rough patch. Recently divorced and abused by her husband, Nikki moves away hoping for a better life for her daughter and herself.
Moving to a new town and having to start over is difficult. This story allows the reader to see how you can never count yourself out even after a bad relationship. Listen to your heart. I highly recommend this book!
She did the only thing she could after an abusive marriage. File for divorce and move close to where she came from. There she meets a hot man who she knows but not sure where. They have something chemistry wise but she is scared and back off. But all of a sudden something bad happens and she needs him. I don't want to give any more spoilers. It has the right amount of love, suspense, drama and much more. I received a copy and voluntarily review it.
Great romance story with lots of loving, just enough drama to keep it interesting, and, of course, passion. Nikki and Jax were neighbors that became much more. I recommend His Ride by Liz Peters. It is a story that left me wanting more.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the first Liz Peters book I've read in this genre. I've read her paranormal novella and loved it. The story is amazing. It alone deserves 5 stars. There were some editing issues that knocked it down to 4 stars. Otherwise I loved His Ride. It was a refreshing take on a second chance romance. I was expecting it to go one, but it didn't. I'm looking forward to read other books by Liz Peters.
Boy oh boy, I was hooked instantly because I love a woman who find strength to get out of an abusive situation, I felt part of the story, it is well written and believe me you will not want to put it down until the last word. I received an advanced readers copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing.
