First and Foremost

Rate this book
How do you spend Valentine's day when your boyfriend is a superhero?

Preferably alone together.

But Avari might be spending it alone.

Avari has risked everything to be with Chayton, put him first and foremost, so why hasn't Chayton done the same for him?

First and Foremost is a low heat m/m short story set in Amara Lynn's Masks universe, and should be read following Raven (Masks #2).

Amara Lynn has always been a quiet daydreamer. Coming up with characters and worlds since childhood, Amara eventually found an outlet in writing. Amara loves anything to do with pirates, villains and superheroes, angels and demons.

They were born and raised in the Midwest USA, where they remain stuck with their spouse and two cats. They love to write about soft monsters and cryptids, grumpy enbies, and forever will be weak for the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one trope. When not writing, they are usually watching anime, playing games, and obsessing over their out of control music playlists.

A cute and honest addition to the Masks world, "First and Foremost" follows Avari and Chayton on their first Valentine's Day (which also happens to be Chayton's birthday).

What really jumps out to the reader of this particular story is the honesty we get. Told from Avari's point of view, there's a rawness to it; a vulnerability in Avari, who wants good things for both himself and the person he loves, even if Chayton can't bring himself to be selfish.

I recommend this read if you're a fan of the Masks series and you like a little steam, a little love, and a lot of feels in your short stories.
