Mary's Treasure Box

Rate this book
Every mother has a treasure box. This touching story takes place on a quiet night several years after the death of Jesus, as Mary shares memories from her treasure box with her granddaughter Sarah. Am ong the items are straw from the manger, wool from the shepherds and the gifts of the Magi, gold, frankincense and myrrh. When Sarah asks why there is so little gold and frankincense but so much myrrh, Mary reminds her that when she went to anoint Jesus' body with the myrrh, he was risen. A touching story that will soon be a classic best-seller.

There’s no real plot here, just looking through Mary’s treasure box at items that remind her of Jesus. The parts about the frankincense and myrrh were interesting to me as an adult, and I am curious what song lyrics are quoted at the end. But overall the book felt a bit lackluster.
