Monsterly Yours #3

The Accidental Werewolf's Mate

Rate this book
Arawl is the youngest son of the alpha and portal guardian for Evarue werewolf tribe. It is a thankless, demanding duty and he despises the impingement on his freedom that other unmated males enjoy. He wants his freedom more than anything, instead he is expected to take a mate and be an upstanding male in the tribe. There is no fun in that.

When an opportunity comes for him to escape to the human world for a single day of pleasures among humans, he jumps at the chance. He doesn’t expect himself to encounter a female who makes his mating instinct roar to life, nor to wake up in his true form accidentally mated!

Ana hasn’t had an easy life. When she aged out of the foster care system without family ties, it left her with no one except her best friend Jinx. Though she mourns the one thing that’s been missing most of her life, she isn’t going to trust her heart to just anyone…certainly not a fickle male who isn’t interested in settling down. When a sexy stranger she brings home turns out to be an enormous man-wolf she didn’t think she could be any more surprised—until she discovers that, during their wild night of passion, he accidentally mated her to him.

Now she must enter a world she never imagined in order to find the one person who might be able to sever the unintended bond between them. She doesn’t expect to fall in love with the people, nor to find herself in the midst of a mystery when females begin to go missing once again from the tribe. It could be the adventure of a lifetime, or the fates may have something more in mind for this stubborn witch.

I enjoyed several aspects of this book including the accidental mating during a one night stand, messy politics, and a witch FMC. Ana was fiery, independent, and really wanted to family. Arawl was a selfish prick at the beginning of the book, but had quite the rapid growth arc. I didn’t rate 4 stars because there were a couple of comments that were sexist.

Spice: 3/5

Triggers: violence, torture, gore, murder, possession (of non main characters), human and humanoid sacrifice including children (off page), horror elements, mentions of foster care, threatened SA, captivity

Really strong third installment to the Monsterly Yours series, this time following one of the wolf men we were introduced to in the last book, and a human witch who both get more than they were planning from a full-moon hookup.

Now, overall, I really like this book. Solid story line, well-rounded main characters who have their unlikable moments, just enough romance-genre miscommunication trope that isn't stretched to the extreme, delightful and vibrant secondary characters, and pretty easy-to-spot baddies but their motivation is a surprise... this is an enjoyable read. Comforting in predictability, but just enough unexpected to keep it interesting. Sanders managed to avoid the villain/conflict pitfall that often plagues her Mate Index series, though this fell short of her horror-oriented stories. I would have liked a bit more of the main villain and their motivation. There was some fleshing out that was missed there.

I spread this out over several days to savor it more—this released a couple days after where I am locked down for Covid-19, and I save this book, thinking that when the kids went back to school I would give it the attention it deserves...but we all know how that has turned out at the date of this review—and I'm happy with that decision. I could have easily inhaled this one, but I liked keeping pace closer to the passage of time in the story.

So why not a 4.5 or higher?

First, the aforementioned issues with the development of the primary villain. And second...there are witches on the human side of the portal now? Whaaaaat? I had thought the MY human world is supposed to be our world with the same parameters. Did all of the Wiccans and other new age witch types acquire powers when the portals were opened, or are they supposed to have been part of this world the entire time? And if so, why no mention of them until now? And why would orcs and all other manner of fae be unbelievable if magic-wielding humans already existed? This bothered me enough to pull me out of the story a few times to try and puzzle it out.

So.

A fun 4 star read with a few unexpected heart tugs.

Definitely a keeper! This author just gets better and better with each and every book!

Unlike Ms. Sanders' previous two novels in this series, this is far creepier and darker than her usual, so I would warn you NOT to read it during the darkest hour of night lest you find yourself still away until the morn because of fear. This book gave me the willies even though I knew it would end favorably. I do appreciate the writer's ability for realism in this universe's perimeters (which means that people DO die unfortunately, while others survive with scars to show for it).

We meet Awarl (doesn't that sound like a sexy, feline growl? *shudder*) in the human's world in his fae glamor of a very sexy dude who's there just to get his rocks off. (According to Ms. Sanders' universe's rules regarding werewolves, they indulge in their sexual frenzy during the three days of a full moon to have sexual relationships in other places in order to find one's mate if that's in their futures. Sounds a lot like the Amish Rumspringa where Amish youth may take a "time out", depending on the order (of course) to explore the real world and decide whether or not they have what it takes to be Amish and join the Church Body, but the werewolves' version with without the religious attachments.) It's just the way things are in this universe. But in Awarl's case, he accidentally bonds with Ana, a wayward witch working at a bar with an otherworldly friend by the name of Jinx (who's a witch unto himself, too). In the attempt to rid himself of such an attachment, he realizes that this female was meant to be his mate on a cosmic level.

Unlike "the day in the life of" style of story that Ms. Sanders writes, this is a true fantasy whodunit mystery that happens on the way to find a wizard to break this fated mate bond. THAT'S where the darkness comes in.

Female werewolves are disappearing once again, and it appears that no is safe no matter what is done. Could the guilty party be one of the alphas? Or more? Not a very happy prospect. So Awarl and a few of the betas of his tribe leave to find out who's responsible and to do something about it. However, everyone isn't what they seem to be nor their environment either.

Definitely worth buying as well as her two previous books. I hope I don't have to wait this long for another installment, you hear me??? I love this series as it is definitely writing outside the box!

Not your typical werewolf story! I really like how the story started out with some young people having fun on Halloween. Ana and Jinx are best friends, witches, and they work together at a bar. Halloween finds them shopping for decorations for the bar and has Ana bumping into the most gorgous, magnetic man. Arawl is only visiting the human world during the full moon to blow off some steam, but he is drawn to a beautiful human. When Ana and Arawl wake up after a night of passion, they find themselves accidentally mated. This leaves Arawl in his true werewolf form, permanently! And Ana is Arawl's "true mate," which hasn't happened for generations. This begins the adventure through the portal to the werewolf tribe. Jinx goes, too! Females are disappearing and Arawl puts a group together to get to the bottom of it. A long trek through many lands holds hidden danger. Will they stay together and survive? It was a nail-biter until the very end!

I fell in love with many of the characters; especially, Arawl's sister, Fahuri. I'm hoping we will get the story about her love trio in the future. The Accidental Werewolf's Mate is quite the adventure through a very magical world. It will keep you guessing about what will happen next. Another great story from S.J. Sanders! 4 stars

Actually 3.5 but alas Good Reads still won't let us do halves.

So as an avid Monster Lover both the cover and the blurb got me- horny werewolf and human woman accidentally end up mated to each other and they don't wanna stay that way, so they have to find a way to fix that only it seems as they spend time with each other it may prove a tad more difficult? Oh gimmie gimmie!!!!

First off it's in first POV and I'm very meh on this style of prose- I prefer 3rd person more. Sanders does a good job with it so I didn't end up hating it, but won't lie sometimes it did feel like I was being given a summary round down of the action rather than being involved in the action.

Our female lead Ana is feisty and fun and gives as good as she gets to a point- I can't help but feel she took too much of a back step in the action and relied a little too much on the male characters. She's a barman by trade and as someone who used to do that job you end of both being a fighter and someone that can deescalate a situation by yourself without a lot of help. Also the girl has magic- which was revealed a little late into the story- she had some great moments but there a few and far in between.

Also Romance Authors can we please let the Alpha bullshit die- Especially with Monster Lovers and werewolf romance stories- it was false research that the scientist behind the original term has desperately tried to correct for years and really why would we want this bull in our fantasy romances?
The amount of times I heavily rolled my eyes when this macho bullshit was used to describe the men *yawn*, I will give Sanders the leeway that they weren't full down that rabbit hole- no shitting on Omegas (thankfully) but still a lot of it was there so a few of the male side characters were just given Beta as a personality type.

Guys please actual Wolf packs a all about family, caring and support of all- can we please focus on that?

Arawel to his credit is a slightly better stereotypical Alpha male- but there are still a lot of very gendered traits to him and his views. I didn't quite get what he enjoyed about his bachelor life, there wasn't enough (or actually any) of his life before him and Ana do a meet cute in a store. As when we get to his land and his village life all his explanations and his need to run from responsibility seemed to fall very flat as he was willing to take stuff on. I think we needed more time with him before he his meet cute moment.

Jinx who is Ana's best friend and brother from another mother is the real MVP of the story. He's a Queer protective witchy big brother and friend and I adored him. Funny when he needed to be and backed our girl without needing to be prompted. He also got the best outcome by getting to be in the middle of two werewolves (one male and one female) Jinx mate let me have your story please. Poly werewolves need to be more a thing.

My other issue was the world building was not set up well in this- now granted it is the third book in a series but I won't lie I was confused as heck when Ana at her job started talking about fantasy creatures as being actually real and being play with it- and yet werewolves weren't a thing that as suspected of being actually a real thing (girl what????????) Also going back to the magic thing again, about halfway into the book it's suddenly mentioned that Ana is a witch with very strong magic and humans in her realm can also use magic........I'm sorry but why was this not mentioned a little bit sooner????? Never have I been taken so fast out of a story by whiplash WTF moments.
Authors you can't always guarantee that a reader has read the other stories in a series if they are just one shots.

The later half of the book- the plot with the high stakes- felt very rushed- I honestly don't think the story needed it at all. We could have just had Ana and Arawl learning to work together and get closer to one another while they attempted to break the mate bond. It could have been a great low stakes thing with Ana learning all about Arawl's culture with him getting to see it in a new light while Ana gets to feel like she's starting to gain a community that even without the mate bond she could still be a part of.
There could still be a few action moments where Ana helps Arawl fend off some enemies- but the plot we did get just did not have enough time to really make it work- not to mention some of the "twists" didn't feel earned.

Please someone just give me Monster lover romances with low stakes- I'm so exhausted of having some major critical sudden plot shoved into my romance novels. I just want cute romances with hot sexy monsters why do they need to have action?

Look it's not a bad story- the romance parts and the smut parts are fantastic- loved those- and the main characters and a few side characters are great- if the front cover made you think you were getting a smutty monster romance- it's not lying. Cover artist Sam Griffin does a great job focusing on what this book gets very very right (also please let the artist do all the covers as some of them in the series are a yikes (and that's me being polite)).

If you are after a smutty with random high stakes werewolf story then yeah this is another one to read. It doesn't break any ground nor the tropes that saddle this side of the monster lover genre but it's worth a read if you crave that genre. Also we all need some Jinx in our life.

Totally awesome . I adore the " Monstery Yours" series ! Unfortunately I finish them to quickly but that isn't S. J Sanders fault . Or is it ?.if she wasn't a fantastic author I would 't be rushing through the story plus she could add another 500, 1000, or 1,000,000,000 pages .😃😂😂😂

There were parts of this book that had four star potential, but the last 30% was underwhelming for me.

There is a point in the book where the two reluctant mates change their mind about trying to get rid of their bond. This transition was awkward and unbelievable. Really it was the start of the 30% decline. There were other things that didn't follow logical build ups ... An example of this was the mfc's magic. Her magic was barely mentioned in the first half of the book, but then she's this powerhouse??? I don't know, I just expected more from a veteran author like Sanders.

Not your typical shapeshifter as outside of the natural werewolf state, the alternative form is dependent and only happens when desired being. (Shifts to troll form when around trolls, shifts to human form when around humans).
Presently, have stopped reading but many return later to complete.

Fuck-ing Love. It.

As always SJ sanders creates an awesome AF and diverse fantasy world that isnt just typical stock standard fantasy creatures which is ironic me saying this on the werewolf book but even the common "monsters" are so rich and in depth and like made real in a way that 95% of other portrayals never do.

This werewolf is 100% wolf furry 24/7 (sans the lil fact they change forms only on the full moon and only to match their surroundings/possible matings aka human on earth troll in troll village etc. but thats like a one night only thing and never again once theyve mated) so dont expect your typical half man half wolf monster or a wolf shifter either.

As always im a slut for good epilogues and hers always manage to be fkn amazing fufilling closure yet promise of the future and leave it at a peaceful happy place where you can really feel good about ending such a great book rather than sad or feel like you need another book to finish the story etc.

Im genuinely so fkn pumped for the next book as its RH which is my holy grail of genres. & my shirley barber obsessed inner child and frankly my nearly 30yo lady~ self is thrilled about the fairy/pixie aspect. Like fuck me if i wouldnt sell someones soul for the ability to fly all barbie mariposa vibes... not my soul obviously im not an idiot but theres dictators in the world much like this wolf villages alpha that clearly dont use theirs so boo.

Kinda fighting myself sinces its literally 3am whether i should ride this book high to dreamland or start the next book because at this point is it even an sj sanders novel if i dont start it in the middle of the night and pass out midway through?

Now normally any sort of m/m even if its the hellish stereotypical male gay best friend would send me running. I dislike m/m its not for me at all usually i can tolerate it somewhat in rh scenarios but even then bleh so this book features a bi bestie and hes not exactly kosher is oversharing so while i wasnt a fan of that it was on the just tolerable side and for the most part he didnt fall into the GBF trap that has me rolling eyes and wishing it would go in my hell trope section with love triangles and evil for zero reason mean girls. Like let them die people.

Christ anyway yeah if i had to pick one thing i wasnt a 100% fan of it was that but really its like the pickle on a burger im not gonna not eat the burger am i? Like its a burger i can remove the gherkin if i really want or i can enjoy the fuck outta the burger as is and just enjoy one bit a little less with its slimy soury pickle bullshit. Fuck now im hungry.

While i was hesitant to continue this series when i came across this full furry book (which i have no issue trashy smut wise but romance novel was a bit outside my comfort zone at the time) and even debates skipping this one because i desperately loved the series and wanted to continue i am super glad i took a break and read this now cause i desperately needed this sj sanders because i mean *gestures at the shit show of the world* and because 2 weeks ago lost my only and first cat and frankly growing up with someone for 16 years through all manner of bullshit and having them be your lifeline for many of that time well it devasted me and still does so i really needed a good happily ever after story in a world where good triumphs over evil and things always end up good for the good guys... this soothed my soul... i loved this series when i read the first 2 books a while back but now its like even more special and healing.

The characters as always were sublime actual people adults at no point did i think "oh god someones written immature teens in adults bodies and stories again." Which is like the main folly of fantasy romance tbh thag isnt like you know the hardcore jrr tolkien shit. Like i dont want to have to go hardcore witcher or whatever fantasy to not read essentially teen fantasy. Like their can be a middle ground and THIS IS IT PEOPLE. READ AND LEARN. stories can be great without contrived meaningless conflict and relationships can be interesting without miscommunication love triangles and immature drama.

Ah really its like this book washed away the sins of the shitty books ive suffered through recently. I remember why i read every damn day and why it nourishes my soul. This book and this series are the sort of books that are fucking phenomenal and deserve soooo much more credit and appreciation than they get. Seriously.

Also i love long series so thank flying fuck for writers who bless us with them. Honestly kisses to those bitches. May their skin be clear and their periods painless.

Well its basically 330am now so who am i to not start the next book tis the witching hour after all. Hehehehe.

PS Yay for protective territorial alpha vibes without being a controlling toxic prick and woohoo for damsels in distress who save themselves and hold their own in a team and have equal give and take with their partners like can we say a hell yeah to healthy relationships?! Hell yeah!!!

The Accidental Werewolf’s Mate is the third instalment in the Monsterly Yours series by S. J. Sanders and is another effortless monster romance full of danger and sensuality.

Arawl is the youngest son of the alpha and the portal guardian for the Evarue werewolf tribe. It’s a thanks less duty, one that infringes on the unmated freedom he otherwise enjoys. The last thing Arawl wants is to be tied to the tribe and forced to take a mate. So when an opportunity arrives for him to journey to the human world for a single day of pleasure among humans he jumps at the chance. He doesn’t expect to encounter a human that makes his mating instincts flair to life; nor to wake up in his true form accidentally mated! Ana hasn’t had an easy life. When she aged out of the foster system it left her with no one but her best friend Jinx. Though she mourns the one thing she’s been missing her whole life, she isn’t going to risk her heart to just anyone. Certainly not a fickle male who isn’t interested in settling down—-but that doesn’t mean she can’t have a little fun while she waits for mister right. When a sexy stranger she brings home turns out to be a ginormous wolf-man, Ana finds herself bound to him. Shocked to discover that after one night of passion he accidentally mated them, Ana will need to enter a world she never knew existed in order to locate the one individual who can server the unintended bond between them. The plan was simple; find the wizard and break the mating bond. Ana just never expected to fall in love with the people of this new world…or the infuriating mate she’s meant to be trying to find a way to get away from. With danger lurking around the werewolf tribe and missing females this might be the worst time for Ana and Arawl to fall in love….but unfortunately fate never did make things easy…..

Continuing the Monsterly Yours series, S. J. Sanders brings readers The Accidental Werewolf’s Mate, a quick and light paranormal romance. Brimming with romance and adventure, The Accidental Werewolf’s Mate unfolds through the back and forth perspective of both main characters Ana and Arawl and proves to be a very quick read. One thing I’m coming to anticipate with this series is that while the stories are fun and seem to be well thought out, there’s not a lot of depth sometimes to them or their characters. Or the depth is hinted at but not really explored. I feel like a bit more fleshing out of the characters would make a big difference in taking the stories from okay to wow.

Irrespective however I still find them enjoyable reads and like the way Sanders is exploring her supernatural world. All the creatures and the monsters are interesting and hold my attention. I do feel that the first novel was the best with the orcs still the most captivating bunch in my eyes. Ana and Arawl were like easy enough to follow and I was glad to see them find their own happiness.

The next novel is set to be a reverse harem style tale with multiple male leads so I am curious to see what S. J. Sanders had planned for this novel. Her world of pixies is intriguing so I’m keen to see what will happen even if I’m not participating a reverse harem fan.

I’ll not even say how much I shouldn’t be reading another book because my classes started so f*ck , and this particularly book was in my radar in some time how could I not start ? In my defense I’m a fast learner hahaha

I’m already liking this book the world building got me a little confused in the beginning but not much and after the two first chapters the things start making sense , and the guy is called Arawl ? Damn this name is so cool ...I’m serious looks like he is growling and all ....so sexy .

Uh-oh apparently I wasn’t understanding the world building because this isn’t the first book of the series ...damn this is so me , starting not in the beginning hahaha if I like this one I’ll probably read the others too so ...whatever. Sweet baby Lucifer they are HOT together I’m f*cking serious they are giving off a sex vibe so strong that I’m blushing... damn .

I like Arawls POV he thinks simply and with his instincts hahaha what is funny because he doesn’t want to like her , but he still want her , and then he just is jealous of another males , but he says to himself he doesn’t like her hahaha see ? Sooo f*cking funny , you know one of the things I like more are how we can see what Arawl is feeling because of his ears hahaha so damn cute .

“the way I looked when we met , is all due to magic devised to make me as attractive as possible to your species that activated the moment I crossed into your world and found myself among humans.” “So, if it was the full moon when you were around trolls...” “My magic would have made me appear as a particularly attractive troll male, an ideal of troll masculinity that would appeal to females in the vicinity.

See? Disturbingly interesting . I’m still astonished as the sex between them is hot hahaha so...primal and damn !! I love Jinx the guy is so good seriously I want a best friend like him . Damn I want to know more about Fahuri , Jinx and Rashi relationship...like I want a book about them immediately hahaha not that Arawl and Ana isn’t cool but they’re not so intriguing like our threesome hahaha

Ok ...this book is good but I’m a little, just a little bored ...not the book fault because we have a good dose of action and all , is just that ....damn idk hahaha ok the things are fun again...this maze thing ? Wow made me remember when Percy was lost in Daedalus Labyrinth .

“Rashi, I think I stepped in something disgusting. A bit of it got into my shoe too so next time we’re fucking I would recommend you don’t put your nose anywhere near my foot until I scrub it... preferably in boiling water!”

Everyone is missing and the sh*t just hit the fan and Jinx is like this ? Hahahaha better character EVERRRR . The book was good I liked enough to finish...well this isn’t actually a surprise I like practically anything that S J Sanders do hahaha but this one wasn’t one of my favorites of her books , but was wonderful enough.

The Accidental Werewolf’s Mate

HERO /HEROINE Ana is a bartender that is tired of being single, but she wont settle for any man. She wants commitment, respect and love. Most guys can’t give the basics. She recently became a powerful witch.

Arwal’s life has been led by the Alpha’s of his pack since he was a child, and now that his two older brothers are in charge they find pleasure in making his life miserable. They’re forcing him to tie himself down with a mate, and to Arwal, the responsibility of having a mate and future children is comparable to a nail in his coffin.

REPRESENTATION

OVERALL THOUGHTS I do like that, ever since the portals between the fae and the human world opened up, witches with smaller abilities started to see their powers grow in strength. That’s pretty cool.

What’s not cool, being a part of a werewolf village. The hierarchy, the stealing of females, the everyday testing boundaries between everyone sounds exhausting. Idk how anyone would be happy in that.

Jinx is THE main character. How unfortunate this book wasn’t about him.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE I have heard nothing but great things about S.J. Sanders’ books, but holy hell I am struggling to finish just one of these babies in a day. They’re like 250 pages max. I can blow through 400 no problem. I switch from being bored, to confused, to angry, to bored again. There are only a few moments with her characters where I actually love the couple and I enjoy reading how cute they are together. But most of the time, they’re average, irritating messes. Like I hate Arwal’s inner monologue about his situation. He is 30 years old but whines like a child when it comes to responsibility. He is an Alpha for goodness sake, it should be in his character to want to help his pack as a whole thrive and he just doesn’t care unless it directs him specifically.

FAVORITE QUOTES: “You owe me nothing. We do as we should for those we take as our companions. You protect me with your sword, and I protect you with my magic. That’s how it should be.”

SAFETY

AGE: Arwal is 30 I think Ana is around the same

SEXUAL HISTORY: Neither are virgins

CONDOMS: No

HEAT LEVEL: Knotting, biting, sex in bipedal wolf form,

PUSH/PULL: the both of them, on and off through the book. It’s annoying.

SEPARATION: No

CHEATING: No

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: No

SEX SCENE WITH OW/OM: No

ABUSE:

POSSIBLE PET PEEVES/TRIGGERS

HEA/HFN: HEA

4& 1\2fabulous 🌟's for monstrous hours book 3

Wow, this series just gets better with every book introduced. I've fallen in love with Orcs, Trolls and now Werewolves! Arawl is the youngest brother of the Alpha of his tribe. He doesn't want responsibilities and he certainly doesn't want a mate. He goes to the human realm on the full moon to meet a woman too take care of his needs, what he finds is a sassy woman who ends up being his accidental mate and guess what she's also a witch! Ana grew up in foster care and her best friend / brother of her heart did too. They work in a bar and are just looking to have fun find love and possibly have real families of their own one day. Ana meets Arawl on Halloween and thinks sure I'll have a sexy not passionate night with a delicious fae and move on after. She doesn't take kindly too accidentally waking up mated ! Yes you will love this story it has everything. A couple who doesn't was t to be a couple until they realize they can't live without one another😍😍 evil and danger that is hurting the tribe and a quest that brings it altogether! Passion, danger terrific world building and awesome main and secondary characters! I can't wait to see which monster I'll end up falling in love with next💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

3.5 🤩

I really enjoy this series! I like the light world building, the magic of the monster realm, and the adventure. It also has dark themes which make it interesting & not just a cozy monster romance.

I loved all the characters in this! Even the side characters. The best friend Jinx is hilarious & he could honestly have his own book!

The MMC and FMC complimented each other & I liked them. The spice between them was hot! Gotta love a werewolf knot! I also love that he’s more in a wolf form than a human form! 🤗 🐺

Even though I enjoyed the journey it wasn’t my fave of the series. I found this book to have more grammatical issues in it, which normally I look past, but there was enough for it to be a little annoying. I feel like there could have been a bit more connecting between the MMC and FMC given the long trek they had to take… it seemed like he changed his mind pretty fast…

Anyway, I’ll still be reading more if this series

Fated mates - yes!
The mating may have been accidental, but it couldn’t have turned out any better, in my opinion. I especially enjoyed this story. The author’s take on werewolves is refreshingly different, although I’m not too sure how they can speak clearly with a mouth shaped like that.
Ana and Jinx, best friends from their rather ‘rough’ childhood days, are warm, loving friends who look out for each other.
Arawl never wanted responsibilities in the pack ruled (poorly) by his brothers, but when the pack is endangered, he sets out to right some wrongs. I love his strength, his growing devotion to Ana, the way he’s willing to work with her - she’s nobody’s doormat! So much fun watching their relationship develop.
Their adventure is fraught with peril and bonds are forged that will never be broken. Great reading!

Fated mates trope; insta-attraction
No other woman/man.
Neither hero(Arawl) nor heroine(Ana) are virgins.

Self induced angst from miscommunication in the first half of the book: they both thought the other didn’t want to stick around.
It clears up after they open up to each other. ❤️

Steamy smex scenes~ 🍆🍆🍆🔥🔥👀

There is adventure. There is plot. There is love.

The side characters are lovable! I love how the heroine has a male best friend! He’s such a delight. 🤣

I have to admit I had to skimp a bit. Some scenes just felt too long (for me)😞

Sander’s writing style is very similar to Milana Jacks; great character humors!

Would I re-read? No, once is enough.

I would recommend it to people who likes their romance with humor, adventure, a tad of angst and a sweet happily ever after 😊

This is a bit different than the aliens that I'm completely used to, including the writing (first instead of three), but I LOVED it. I didn't realize it was related to her other series the orc wife which is also a favorite if mine. It was refreshing to read something that was unique, characters when different qualities. Besides who doesn't like hot sexy werewolves? Am I right?!!! I loved how the relationship built up and wansntt the typical... Im plain who would want me kind a deal that most stories base off of and with an their interest and background snippets you get here and there, they really come alive. More please!!!!

Solid

But sadly, not one of my favorites. I had a difficult time liking the heroine;she was *rhymes with* witchy for much of the book. I was also thrown by her supernatural status, despite being a human. In the prior books of the series, there was a strictly human world, with average humans and a fae world, with fae creatures. Yet in this book, there are humans who.possess magic, which was never mentioned before. The antagonists are unanticipated, and honestly, their motives were stated, but i still didn't understand WHY the evil done was done. Again, solid, but not my fave. Still a one click author, though!!

I really enjoyed this story. It was a lot more action packed than the first two from the Monsterly Yours series but it was really good. I really enjoyed the side characters like Jinx who was so fucking funny being mated to both Rashi + Fahuri - I honestly hope this throuple gets their own book! And again this never impacted the plot at all but I really did wish the author edited a little better because there were a few grammatical errors throughout the book + some parts of the book felt a little lost but again it was still a great story with amazing side characters that really supported the MC's.

Kinda struggling with this one. Don't find furries attractive, so the fact that he's really part wolf most of the time, including love scenes, meant I skipped chunks. I thought he is hot in human form, but he doesn't stay that way for most of the book.

The heroine is capable, but the best friend tagging along was both good and bad. I didn't find him a very believable character, but it was nice to have a secondary non-straight romance.

It's KU so its not like I paid anything for it, but I vastly prefer others in the series. I think I just need more human-like males to get my engine running and anthros don't cut it for me.

My Favorite of Sanders So Far!

Wow. I really was not expecting to like this book as much as I did.

First off: the characters are wonderful. Ana and Jinx had me cracking up with their antics. I wish I had someone like Jinx as a best friend.

Arawl and his tribe are great. I especially love his sister and her knowledge of the world they live in.

As others have mentioned, this is not just a “spooky Halloween” read. This has some gore and violence. If that bothers you, then this story isn’t for you. If it is though, enjoy the adventure they partake on in the last half of the book!

It is hard to rate this book although it was a good read the idea about an orphan meeting her wolf intrigued me. Overall I liked the book with only a few clinches I did not like. I was not particularly fond of the homosexual theme that was thrown in, I am not homophobic but I prefer not to read about it had I known that would have been included I'm not sure I would have read this book. Jinx was a very annoying character every time he was in a scene my annoyance went up and the elf character miglinor was not fleshed out all, I'm still unsure of exactly what his motives were. I gave four stars but it is really more a three in a half

This was the best of the series imo, at least up until this point. The story flow and build was really well done. There were surprise moments and the love build felt authentic. I did have to INTENTIONALLY work my way around the bestiality, that was outside of what I could find sexy, hot or attractive. Listen, if you are a "furry", there are some serious bean flicker moments in this read for you. I just never, in my minds eye, attached a dog head to the alpha. I kept him human. If I had not, there is no way I could have finished the book.

This might be the best book so far in this amazing series.
One niggle I had was the lack of explanations about Ana and Jinx's witchy powers...how did they learn all those magic tricks? Maybe it was mentioned in the previous books and I forgot.

Arawl was a great guy and you could feel the pull between him and Ana right from the start. It was cool getting to see him in his "full-moon human-like" appearance.
I loved how Jinx got .

It was great meeting a whole bunch of different creatures; can't wait for more.

Good story

Overall good story although the end seemed rushed. I found the story sweet, I liked the whole "I don't want you, let's end this mating" side of the story. If they were only honest things would have been easier on them. The villains were easily identified early on, so not much surprises there, however, the love story itself between the characters and the side story for Jinx was funny and sweet.

Another terrific story, this one being about fated mates, romance, faithful friends, danger, valor, righting wrongs and defeating evil.

I love these books! The details of life in the werewolf pack are intriguing and entertaining. I always enjoy magical stories and the otherness of varied magical and paranormal species. I am reading these books out of order as I pick and choose among the "monsters." I will keep selecting among the books until I've read them all.

AMAZING!!

S.J. Sanders is one of those authors who consistently delivers high quality work. Sanders imagination is mind blowing! The descriptions of characters & scenes, the back story & epilogue, the action; romance; comedy & danger is perfectly balanced. I’m entertained & loving the book from beginning to end. I not only highly recommend this book BUT also this author, Sanders!!
