A Good Confession, Daily Reflections on the Westminster Shorter Catechism gives individual readers, families, small groups, and even congregations the opportunity to study and ponder the rich truths stated in fifty-two of the questions and answers of the catechism. Each week’s pages include a story relatable to readers and to which the truth is applicable. Daily scripture passages to study are provided along with thought-provoking quotes from a variety of sources to solidify the truths in readers’ minds. Overall I really enjoyed this devotional. I didn’t grow up in a Reformed church tradition, so it was enlightening to read the questions and answers to the Westminster Shorter Catchesim. My one complaint was that at times the reflections seemed to be a bit disconnected to the scripture passages. But my personal favorite was the quotes from well known Christian authors and leaders. A wonderful daily devotional!

I appreciated reading this as a church body and walking through the Westminster Shorter Catechism in depth.

That said, it wasn’t my favorite devotional reading style and I wish the daily scripture and reflections were tied together better and/or had some more thorough commentaries or reflection questions for personal meditation.

Highly recommend. My wife and I used this book for our daily Bible Study over the last year. A great blend of Bible verses, prayers, related stories, and powerful reflections. A+.
