Runeblade: A Chronicle of the Mundane and the Magical

Rate this book
Lost in a shifting forest

A spellblade's apprentice gets more than he bargained for when what was supposed to be a simple delivery mission goes horribly wrong, and he loses himself in the enchanted forest of the Fae.

This book is the first chapter of the Runeblade Trilogy and the debut novel of soon-to-be esteemed author C.S.R. Heinonen. A coming-of-age story at its heart, it mixes classic elements of medieval fantasy with sprinkles of science fiction, mythology and even the most cherished part(s) of anime. What began as a personal project, inspired by previous works such as The Elder Scrolls, The Witcher, Star Wars, and has been subjected to many moons of arduous polish and is ready to be released into the world.

As a somewhat biased beta reader, I think the book is a fun adventure with nuance, and a lot of interesting hints at the ideas found in the inner workings of the setting.

I look forward to seeing these ideas being expanded on in future installments.
