Each of us is born with a seed of greatness, but in many of us, it never grows to maturity because we don’t realize our full potential. We continue to live day-to-day based on the failures, defeatist attitude, and purposelessness of the past rather than acknowledging that we were created for more. Using insights gained from the Book of Revelation, Goodbye, Yesterday! will teach readers the twelve principles of faith they need to be set free from the past, change the way they see themselves, and move fully into all that God has for them to do and to be. It will enable readers to renegotiate their future, redefine their destiny, reestablish their dominion in a world of chaos, and realize their full potential as God’s representatives on the earth. This book will help readers move beyond the self-defeating behaviors and mindsets of the past and embrace the “awesome” person God designed them to be!

As an author, Dr. Trimm has repeatedly topped bestsellers lists with what have become renown classics, such as: Commanding Your Morning, The 40 Day Soul Fast, The Rules of Engagement for Overcoming Your Past, and Prevail: Discover Your Strength in Hard Places.
The book had a lot of helpful points, but she had a lot of logical fallacies and pseudoscience to back up her points, which I found detracting from her message.
I found this quote interesting: In his book Thou Shall Prosper, Rabbi Daniel Lapin shares the significance of the Jewish Havdalah service that is recited on Saturday evening as the Sabbath wanes and families get ready to begin the new week. Havdalah commemorates the separation of the divine and the mundane and the Sabbath from the workweek, but also emphasizes the importance of remembering the holiness of the Sabbath during the other six days of the week.1 As Rabbi Lapin points out, Havdalah highlights the hands, asking for blessing on whatever work, assignment, or duty those hands are used to perform. Havdalah is recited over a cup into which wine is poured until it overflows into its saucer. A prayer is spoken which asks God to increase the family's offspring and wealth. According to Rabbi Lapin, first your own cup is filled. The overflow symbolizes having sufficient to motivate others. As Rabbi Lapin explains it: This overflowing cup symbolizes the intention to produce during the week ahead not only sufficient to fill one's cup, but also an excess that will allow overflow for the benefit of others. In other words, I am obliged to first full my cup and then continue pouring as it were, so that I will have sufficient to give away to others, thus helping to jump-start their own efforts. Judaism views attending to your own vineyard not as shameful, but as a moral obligation. (113-114) —> I liked the dual emphasis on caring for myself but also producing enough in the week to also care for others. Imagine if everyone did that!
I found her explanation of economy and how we are not in a zero-sum game (on pages 115-118) interesting.
In general, it was better than I was expecting and she had some good points for setting our lives in the right direction. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it but if you happen to have a copy I’d say go ahead and read it.
