This fascinating saga will bring you a renewed awareness that while settings and cultures change, people don't. Our struggle with sorrow and sin remains constant, and our mutual hope lies only in the One who knows our individual pain and offers healing. - June Strong

This is one of my most favorite books of all time. I love the way she tells the story of Leah. Usually it's Rachel or jacob. Not this time.

I thought the author did a really good job telling this love story from Leah's point of view. Although it can be a little depressing at times I really liked this book. It did take me a little while to get into it though which I thought the author could do a better job of. It was kind of disappointing because I've really liked Lois N. Erickson's other books like this because they hook you right from the first or at least second chapter. All of the elements in this book are realistic even though some of them I had to work a little harder in order to understand because this is written very much so in bible times. This book did a really good job on giving me a picture of how things might have been back them. I give this book 4/5 stars and recommend it to anyone above the age of 10 who wants to learn mere about this bible story packed with a roller coaster o drama, emotions, and packed with adventure. Who says the bible cant be interesting?! Sometimes we just have to use our own creative minds! Happy reading!!!
