This has suffered with time, of course, but it's still a privilege to read the most passionate, partisan and evangelical of writers on this subject. This is a chapter from the Thames & Hudson coffee table tome on the wider subject of the middle ages, rebound in a very handy, attractive Thames & Hudson beige cloth covers with gold embossed lettering and white jacket. Expositions of the various periods, interlarded with maps of the major building sites, show Harvey in uncharacteristically restrained form; beautiful illustrations throughout.
