Another entry for my "so bad, it's funny" shelf!!!

I knew it was going to be bad and I was sort of looking forward to the craziness but this surpassed even my expectations.

The plot is as follows: Shanna is a ballroom dancer and a few days before her big competition, she receives a video of her dance partner having a threesome in public. With it, she receives a blackmailing note saying that if she follows through with the competition, the blackmailer will show the video to the judges. Unbeknownst to me, it seems dance competition judges are the epitome of conservatism, so if they see the video, Shanna and her partner will immediately lose.

Yeah, I'm not sure I buy that either but let's go with it for now. Alejandro is the owner of the club where her partner was filmed and he has the hots for the heroine. His spidey sense tells him she wants to be watched (she's a ballroom dancer! OF COURSE, she wants people to watch her having sex!!!) so when he learns about Shanna's predicament, he proposes a solution: she should have sex with him with people watching at his club so they can discover the blackmailer.

Yup, that's the way to discover a blackmailer, folks. Do the EXACT THING you are being blackmailed about!!! And of course, Shanna goes through with it!!

The rest of the book is a mumbo jumbo of public sex (which wasn't very sexy) insta-love and Shanna's daddy issues to explain her bitchiness. I couldn't stop laughing.

This novella's only redeeming quality is that it made me laugh. As this was unintentional, I can't guarantee this will happen with you so if you see this book anywhere, just run away.

Shannon York is a ballroom dancer who wants to win the Dance Star competition. She receives a video showing her dance partner in a very compromising position at the Sneak Peak sex club. Realizing that someone is trying to force her out of the competition she takes the tape to Alejandro Diaz, the co-owner of the club.
Alejandro has been watching Shannon for month now. She has the reputation of an ice bitch. She is independent and the only thing that matters to her is her dancing career. She also has a bad reputation of getting rid of her dance partners should they not meet her standards.
Alejandro convinces Shannon to put on a sex show in one of the exhibition rooms to see if the blackmailer will tape their session. While Shannon is turned on by the idea of public sex she has no idea that Alejandro will try to convince her that she can have a career and a relationship.

The sex was steamy. I loved how Alejandra was a take charge kind of guy but also very gentle and thoughtful.
The idendity of the blackmailer and the reason for it was kind of a let down for me.

Wow!! This was such a great read!! OMG, if you want a hot quickie this is definitely the read for you!! Good lord I was scorched many a time, almost from the very start!

The story is good and the characters interesting, but the real deal here is all the smexy stuff! This book does not skimp on the hawt action! This is one of those reads where voyeurism is a key element. Much of the action occurs in a private sex club, so be prepared for that angle. Also have a couple buckets or ice cream ready, read while sitting in a tub of ice water and be prepared with loads of batteries or a snuggle buddy!! This book brings the steam in boatloads and frequently!!

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Sasha Dunbrooke, who is a new voice for my ears. She had a wonderful feel for all the voices and accents, there were a few. I am going to have to look at other reads from her. The pace was spot on and full of energy, you could almost feel the chemistry between the leads as she read. A delight all around!!

The only negatives I have are minimal at best. I was not believing love this quickly, I will go with lust and feelings, but not love. The other “Eh” for me was the resolution of the big conflict. Finding out about the blackmailer was anticlimactic and sort of a footnote at the end. It was a bummer because the rest of the story was well done.

I think this is one of those cases about timing. I mean that in the sense that had I read this book a few years back, I probably would’ve enjoyed it more. It has Shayla Black’s distinct stamp of erotic suspense that I normally really enjoy. But I do find that with a shorter story like this it can be hard to tie in a good suspense storyline and a romance that in this case doesn’t have much of a backstory.

Alejandro owns a kink club, and he’s wanted to get the sexy professional dancer Shanna in his grasp for a while now. He gets the perfect opportunity when she comes to him for help to try and find the person from his clientele at the kink that club that is blackmailing her dance partner.

One thing is for certain Alejandro and Shanna have great chemistry and the sex scenes are really hot. But I found Shanna’s readily disposition to scene with Alejandro when she had never done anything of the like was a bit unbelievable. As I mentioned before, had this been a full length novella I’m sure this would’ve been taken care of.

My only complaint about the audiobook of this book was the fact that the narrator kept pronouncing the hero’s nickname wrong. Since Alejandro is spanish, his nickname Ale should be pronounced more like Aleh than Ali. It kept throwing me off everytime! Nevertheless, this was an enjoyable read if you’re looking for something quick and sexy and that stands completely on its own.

Shanna York had one goal set that she must achieve. She needed to be a champion in the ballroom. She just held to tight to the dream and drove of numerous partners in the process.

Alejandro Diaz has set his sights on one woman. The one that has push and pushed and had garnered a not so nice reputation. He still wanted her. Alejandro goes after what he wants.

Shanna and Alejandro find that their passions can open up many doors.

This was a hot, hot read with very sexy accent males.

So Good

I loved this book and was hooked from the first page. Loved the instant heat between Alejandro (Ali) and Shanna. Why was she given a video about her dancing partner? Will they get disqualified due to the judges if they view the recording? Will she choose her career over Ali or will she realize she can have both? Had some tears when he Dad talks to her about her Mom. I really loved the happy ever after. It’s a great book and I highly recommend reading this.

Honestly, everything about this story was just pure cringe. I went in without high expectations, just looking for a quick, entertaining read... but I just couldn't. What little plot this book entails is just unimaginative and contrived, the characters are not compelling, the relationship dynamics are tedious and unbelievable, the spice is absurd and poorly executed, and don't even get me started on the ridiculous MMC.. blah. That is all.

Faced with the thought of her dancing career never reaching the her highest goal, Shanna needs help from an unlikely advisory, the one man who sees what she hides from most. Alejandro will take her to places in her wildest dreams but in the end she will achieve all she desires - and it is not all about her career. Another spicy read from an author who has always proven that she can keep the steam flowing as the reader flips the pages.

Of the hook, started off with blackmail of her ballroom dance partner. What happens after that is unbelievable breath-taking. I wish there was a continuation,.... the story was a little to short.. BUT FRiCKIN fantastic.

It's a novella, so you can't expect a slow build to passion and love. It's a sexy, fun read with likeable/hateable characters. And the ballroom dancing is a plus.

Shanna York is an extremely driven and talented ballroom dancer. Some might go as far, as to call her a bitch. The trouble is that she has the reputation for running through dance partners that don't suit her. She's pretty happy with her current partner, but unfortunately his extracurricular activities might not sit well with the straight laced judges. To bad someone has it out for her, and has decided to blackmail her with a video of her partner from a fetish club.

This was such sexy, short read. I tend not to pick up stand alone books or novellas. But WATCH ME really packs in a lot of storyline in such a short audiobook. I would have loved it to have been just a little bit longer, so I could spend more time in Shanna and Alejandro's world. However, I did have to look past the "insta-love" that is a necessity of such a short story.

The two main characters were extremely entertaining and had wonderful chemistry! Their heat jumped off the page. Even though Shanna could come a crossed as hard and sometimes difficult, she's got such a great heart deep down. I enjoyed how Alejandro saw straight threw her persona. He was able to break down her walls, and give her things that she never even knew she needed.

I know I'm dating myself by saying this, but it reminded me of the 1992 movie The Cutting Edge. I don't mean that in a negative way, since I loved this movie growing up. It's about a girl who blows through teammates, like it's her job. Just replace dancing for figure skating.

I only have one criticism for this story. I felt that the blackmail scene in the beginning was unnecessarily gratuitous and over the top. I am in no way a prude. I love my sexy book...EXTRA sexy! The scene just felt forced. I know it needed to be scandalous, but I felt like the author used every trick in the porn book to do it. It actually, almost made me stop listening. I think that for such a short story, the word count would have been better used on hot scene between Shanna and Alejandro.

This was the first time, that I've listen to Sasha Dunbrooke's narration. I'm extremely tough on narrators! If the narration doesn't add additional layers to the story, I might as well read the book for myself. So I was surprisingly impressed with Sasha! Her character voices were distinct and spot-on. I was specifically impressed with the way she portrayed Alejandro character. Her pacing and dictation were phenomenal. She really brought this story to life for me. Bravo Sasha! She has landed herself on my Must Listen list of narrators.

This was just a delightful short listen! Overall, I felt that the author pulled together deep storyline in a short audiobook. I enjoyed spending some time in both the dancing and sex club worlds. I loved the juxtaposition between the two. I think that Shelley Bradley and Sasha Dunbrooke make a great pair! I would recommend this audiobook for anyone who's looking to escape into a sexy world for a few hours.

Shanna and Alejandro- main characters of the book
This book was awesome..i loved every single part and couldn't tear my eyes off of the book for one second...well i had to go eat so i took myes off of the book for about an hour but thats not the point here. This book has something unique about it, and i knew that since the time i started to read the summary of this book till now.
The book starts off with Shanna being furious because her partner kristoff was recorded at a nightclub doing/having a threesome. Shanna is scared to death about the video and the threat that the person who recorded the video sent to her, and later on once she finds out that alejandro is the owner of that nightclub, she plans to ask for his help in finding the person...
Alejandro had been asked for help from Shanna and so they plan out to do a sex scene infront of a bunch of people to see if anyone is breaking the club rules nad recording them. first time failed, because noone was caught recording them. and second time that they did the scene a few days later( i think) nothing was ccaught either)noone was caught). Shanna relizes in the end that she's falling in love/ she is in love with aljandro, and relizes that she can't be without him. At the end shanna wins the trophy, she finds out who sent the recorded video and the threat( just ask Kristoff because he knows who did it), and Alejandro confesses his love to Shanna by proposing to her with an engagement ring.!

Watch me was a short, intense little book filled with seduction, temptation, and pure hotness.

The Story: Watch me follows the life of Shanna York, a particularly obsessive professional ballroom dancer who has been proclaimed as the, "B***h of the ballroom." She goes through dance partners almost as fast as she goes through dance costumes and she believes winning is all that's important. Then, her dance partner gets videotaped in a couple compromising positions with a couple romantic partners of his, the whole scene is videotaped and was done in front of an audience, and the video-taper is trying to blackmail Shanna by threatening to show the video to the judges at the next competition. Shanna knows that such an occurrence would ruin her chances of winning the competition with the conservative judges, and she can either pick a new partner yet again, setting her back with this year's competition, or she can find out exactly who is trying to blackmail her.

Enter Alejandro Diaz, the owner of the club where Shanna's partner performed for said audience. Alejandro is a sexy Latin man who has wanted Shanna since he first met her. He wants nothing more than to melt her icy exterior and find out exactly who she is. When Shanna comes to him to request he help her find out who is blackmailing her, he comes up with the perfect plan, one that's equally beneficial for both of them.

The Narration: From the first sentence, I loved the narrator. She really fits Shanna's icy personality and hidden softness. She also does a wonderful job portraying the hot and heavy moments so that the listener can really picture what's going on. Sasha even does a pretty good job with the male voices and the accents, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her.

The Verdict: This is a book filled with steam, exhibitionism and lust. Still, I had some misgivings, there was a portion near the end where things seemed to rushed and too HEA too soon. I don't believe the feelings were rushed between the two main characters, but I do believe the decisions as a result of those feelings were rushed. I give this book 4 stars. I would recommend it to anyone who likes erotica with sexy foreign men and ice queen women getting brought down to their secretly mushy selves.

Shanna York desperately wants to win the Dance Star competition, but her partner is filmed in a very compromising position at a sex club. If the video is leaked, her chances to win will fall to zero and someone very much doesn’t want her to attend the competition. She enlists the aid of the very seductive Alejandro Diaz, who is the perfect person to help her, as the co-owner of the club.

Alejandro has been aiming for Shanna since they danced together at an event, seeing past her bitchy facade and wanting her very much. They meet again and he is not ready to give up even if she continually rejects him. When she comes to him for help, he convinces her participate in a sex show to catch the propagator of the video. Sparks fly between the two.

This short book was very enjoyable and so hot! There were many sexy scenes and the main couple’s chemistry is off the charts! The dancing scene at the beginning was one of my favorite moments and really captures their relationship. The narrator did a good job voicing the characters. They were all unique and distinguishable. I would recommend this to people who like short books with dirty characters and awesome scenes.

A nice read. I had not read a romance novel that included ballroom dancing so this was something different.

Shanna is a ballroom champion involved in a blackmail scandal and decides she'll do whatever it takes to deal with the situation and make it go away.

Alejandro is part owner in a exhibitionist/voyeur club and is more than willing to help Shanna with her problem.

This book has some pretty intense sexy scenes, but is overall predictable, but good.

Now this short book packed all the heat and passion I expect from a Shayla Black novel in one small punch. Honestly maybe it's a little of my own kink coming through but honestly this book was almost too hot for me to read. Shanna and Alejandro scorch the pages. The passion exuded from them especially when they dance is palpable. I got lost in the pages and was sad it ended so quickly. 5 amazing stars from me.

Mercy, this is one hot story that gives new meaning to Dancing With the Stars without the giggly, insipid Carrie Ann, the grumpy, old fart Len and the grossly inappropriate Bruno.
I just wish this book had been longer. Oh and the cover doesn't look anything like the characters. I know it is silly but I hate that.
Now I want to read Del's book.

Erotica doesn't get much steamier than this novel. Every time I read another novel by Shelley Bradley/Shayla Black, I'm amazed by her ability to people her books with compelling characters who have interesting backstories, rather than just stick figures who wander into and out of hot relationships.

this book was amazing! I read it in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Shanna and Alejandro is crazy! The way he breaks down her walls, love it! Somebody needed to make her see she wasn't living, just existing.
