Please, let's take a moment about the fact I did not know that and it's been more than two months.
If you have never tried a Chinese web novel or a transmigration novel, this is THE one you need to pop your cherry. The fluff is over the top and the story will give you diabetes.
DTBCF is the story of a young woman who got reincarnated in the novel she was currently reading after being stung by a cactus.
She reincarnated into a supporting character destined to be the rival of the female lead and die tragically. The only way to prevent that? Do not fall in love with the male lead, live in peace away from the other concubines and perhaps try to seduce the second male lead to get somewhat of an exit road. Easy as pie.
Or she could just become the main character of her own story, couldn't she?
It's cute, funny, fluffy and with little drama with a silly and adorable supporting character-turned-MC and a sexually frustrated male lead. The story is really entertaining and endearing, the translation flawless and simply a huge ball of cotton candy.

Asumire que son 50 capitulos por volumen asi que... bueno, supongo que lo termine.
Ya lo había leído antes y me pareció agradable y fácil de leer. Son situaciones demasiado tontas y de muchos malentendidos, pero no son tan de problemas de comunicación sino de asumir cosas entre los personajes. Es el tipico tropo de entrar a la novela como la villana, agradable y fácil de leer, pero con detallitos que se pueden pasar por alto si se considera que es de "época".

Wow! This was really good. I knew from the description that it would be at least a little refreshing, but I loved it more than I thought I would! The main character is interesting, with an entertaining inner monologue. She's not ridiculously brash but is still a modern woman, so it's an unusual but nice mix. FL aside, the ML is actually (wait for it) pretty freaking good, all things considered. He's kinda cute, actually, and I'm more attached than I thought I would be, especially as this is book 1 of 6. I'm excited to see where the story goes as Miss Lin is being brought back soon. 5 stars! Amazing translation as well, with flowing prose and footnotes where appropriate. Recommended to fans of transmigration stories and ancient China!

Good translations and footnotes to explain Chinese cultural idiosyncrasies
Translations were good and footnotes helpful. Common Chinese story line of strong modern female protagonist trying to survive in ancient China. Funny with all the misunderstandings because society’s strict rules keeps everyone from saying their true thoughts or asking clarification. Enjoyable and can’t wait to read next installment.

I didn’t really enjoy this. The translation is confusing as it jumps about all over the place. I could hardly follow it, and what I did follow I didn’t like. The lead spends all her time falling over and saying idiotic things. There’s a talking cactus for some reason. In our first encounter with the male lead he has a girl beaten to death while he drinks tea. The whole thing is extremely unsettling, up and down like a seesaw.
