Following the hugely successful first volume, which was not only a bestseller but had a positive effect in the fight against suicide, 64 poets from around the globe submitted to this second collection. The messages inside these pages are brought from the heart from those who have experienced the darkness, those who wish to spread hope and those who support positive mental health. Aptly named A Spark of Hope, this stunning collection would be an asset in Schools and Colleges, and its purpose is to uplift, bring hope and share light to all those in need.

MY REVIEW ON A SPARK OF HOPE VOLUME II:

I remember reading the very first Volume of A Spark of Hope last year and it really spoke to me in a lot of ways!! The most important thing was, that words have a very powerful impact and power on individuals, which can either rebuild and make a new or tear down and destroy. Yet for the first anthology, it was totally reassuring and packed with refreshing and renewal of positivity, inspiration, and hope.

A Spark of Hope Volume II has the same elements, yet in my opinion, it has a much more surreal impact with the poems that have been published in this book and then some!! With the first volume there were 49 poets. With volume II there are 64, and every single one speaks of different perspectives and stories of self. From the injustice of taking one's life, life is worth living, losing a loved one, and how it affects the ones around them and family, to how life is truly a beautiful and blessed gift to share life's experiences with many out there, so they too can feel what the poet is or has been through, and are not the only one that feels the same way and are not alone in this journey of Depression or has thought of taking their life. With each poem, there is the poet's picture and a small bio with information on the poet.

The Anthology starts out with a great foreward written by Shiju H. Pallithazheth, introducing the Anthology with the creators of this book, which are Brenda Mohammed, Narendra Rajkumar, Farhana Sait and Destinyy Lightt Speakss who designed the cover. He also tells of how many people make the mistake of taking their lives, because they feel it would be better if they were no longer alive and the catastrophe it places on the families and loved ones. "A Spark of Hope volume II" will help change the minds of those feeling alone or depressed, because life is worth living!! Shiju also shares a poem "God's Last Letter" where he states you may feel shattered and overwhelmed, yet be strong and don't give up because it is always for later when God sends an invite called His last letter.

Next is the introduction to the anthology, given by Brenda Mohammed, where she gives a quick recap on the first volume and how volume II was created to help prevent people to commit suicide and includes a poem "You are Perfect just as you are" where she speaks of not letting anyone telling you, you are not good enough and not to compare yourself to anyone. You are perfect just the way you are and shine to the world the gift of yourself!!

All 64 Poems spoke to me in different ways and had great insight on how beautiful life is as well as a great gift and how devastating suicide can be on loved ones and how it can effect their lives. Also I'd like to say every Poet & Poetress that contribute to this great Anthology did a great job and I'd love to congratulate you all for putting your views out there to help individuals that may be depressed or thinking about taking their life, that it's not worth it and that life is worth living. Yet I'd love to name the ones that really touched and spoke to me, so allow me to share the Poets and Poems with you...
