As a LONGtime lover of this series, reading this was like wrapping myself in a warm blanket and hanging out with some of my best friends around the fire.

I love this series.
I love these characters.
And, somehow, I never get bored reading about them.

That said, this book obviously cannot stand alone and I wouldn't recommend reading it out of order. Even attempting to read just Z's trilogy probably wouldn't be that great.

But I digress.

Off to start book book 15...

"Now I can focus on making Lilly mine. Permanently."
description

Zero Apologies is the 14th book in the Lost Kings MC Series and the third book in the Z and Lilly trilogy. You would think I would be tired of all of this LOKI LOVE but the truth is this is one series (and one author), I will never get enough of. After Lilly and Z have been through hell and back, they now have the opportunity to prove the world wrong and find their happy ever after. The road has been beyond difficult for these two and yet, true love always prevails.

description
"I'm all yours for the taking."
Told in multiple POV, Zero Apologies is another work of art by my favorite MC Author! Lilly and Z continue to grow and transform together in the most imperfect ways! I love the rough edges on both of these characters and how together they are somehow able to work through the difficulties of life that continue to weigh them down. In true LOKI tradition, the brotherhood is strong. These LOKI Men and their Old Ladies continue to amaze me with the depths they will go to protect the ones they love. With action, passion, and MC style suspense, Zero Apologies is another LOKI winning read!
" After the disappointment, betrayal, and hurt, we finally have each other and our family."
Overall, Zero Apologies would appeal to any and all MC Romance Fans. If you haven't met the men of the LOKI, what is stopping you? This is one series that I will never get tired of. Bravo Ms. Lake! Bravo!!!!!

🔥🔥 ZERO APOLOGIES: Zero and Lilly, Part 3 by Autumn Jones Lake is OUT NOW! One-click today!! 🔥🔥

⇝Preface.
This review is going to be one of the longer ones. I understand you might want to get right down to the juicy part. As I was lucky to read this for free in exchange for an honest review and really wanted to prove how thankful I am, I made sure to take extra care with this review and give some details (Funnily enough, this version is now the 3rd update of one and the same review because again and again, I found tiny things that needed editing - and usually, I am not a perfectionist). Feel free to jump down to the ⇝What’s happening. section first and come back later after that section or even after you've read this book yourself (which I recommend. The entire series, that is, starting with Slow Burn)

⇝Overall
Are you guys ready for the conclusion of the Ziren story (please credit me for my originality)? Because somehow, I haven’t been sure about this until I just finished it. The last book left me with somewhat of an uneasy feeling. Of course, I know that usually, the OTPs get their happy ending, but with Autumn Jones Lake one can never be sure, haha
Overall, I am very happy with how this story turned out. It was a pleasure to have been able to read the ARC of one of Autumn’s books for the second time. As I have come to love the LOKI family very quickly, I would love to be able to read about them for a long time. I already started my physical collection and will be completing them shortly 😊
I can’t believe it will be months before I lay my hands on the next book in this series, but to quote Lilly:
Karma really is a cunt, isn’t she?

I love that weed is the main LOKI business. I am very frustrated with the way most people treat weed; as if it were something straight out of hell. Mind you, many of them are happily chugging back questionable amounts of alcohol every weekend while doing so, and that is just ridiculous. The 21st century is way past the notion of red wine - or any kind of alcohol, for that matter - as a healthy evening drink. This outdated assumption actually relates to the micronutrients in grapes. Weed is not only a drug but also a medicinal substance, as opposed to alcohol (if you are not using it to disinfect a wound). I love how Autumn contributes to normalizing the dialogue about weed and also hints at the complexity and joy of growing (weed, or anything in general, really). I have this secret wish that future books tell more about the medicinal side of it!

This book is for you if… you have a weakness for MC romances that do not objectify the female characters and give a thorough and (from what I can tell) well-researched insight into the reality of MCs. Extra points, when they contain ginger-bearded funny Irish lads you melt for every time they get on-page time? This is your book! Suckers for hawt covers will also be satisfied (someone tell me where she got that bodice from, pls, thanks):

Just like people who enjoy black humour:
"I hold out my hands so he can cuff me and barely resist mocking him for acting like a scared little girl. What am I going to do, beat him to death with my jail-issued canvas slip-on sneaker?"

LMAO. Love me some funny hawt bikers. Especially I can relate to the guard. Z probably could to just that.

⇝What’s happening.
The nightmare has become reality: Z is in jail, facing serious charges, supported by a supposed eye-witness. If this gets serious, his son will be a grown-up with his own family, before he can even marry his Siren. Ever since he first met her he was certain Lilly was the woman he would end up with. But there was always the possibility of him ending in jail instead. Behind bars and unable to protect the family he loves, Z must do everything in his power to make it back to them. Considering his situation, there isn’t much apart from not getting into trouble with the guards or his fellow imprisoners.

Lilly had feared that her man’s lifestyle would cost them the happiness it took them so long to find. Surrounded by the strong LOKI family, she tries to keep it together for her son’s sake. Ever since she made the step to come back to NY and introduce Chance to his father, she intended for them to never be separated again. But now it may be years until she can welcome him at their home again.

As the judge is letting him out under the condition to not make a run for it, it seems like they are living on borrowed time while they navigate both their happy little family (and trying to add to it, hrhr) and make the downstate charter a functional club again. Between a lot of doubts and scary bikers, I was happy to once again have read a book full of

and

and

Oh, and

(Sorry for the gif-spam, y’all, but we all knew the day I figured out how to incorporate these into my reviews was the day I would start hitting you with them like with no chance to flee.)

In case you crave a romance binge read, why don’t you start with Ziren’s story, as their particular romance found its conclusion with this enjoying read I got through in 46hrs despite studying full time and working 2 days a week.

⇝Something that worried me.
I just felt like I owed it to Autumn to be thorough, especially since I was lucky to get an eARC before. I am pointing this out this time because I’ve noticed it in previous books but never really knew how to express my uneasiness about this. IThe following quote from the book is exemplary only.

"I lost my compassion for addicts and their bullshit…"

1) Addicts are sick. They are suffering from a severe condition. This statement seemed quite derogative although I’m pretty sure there is not as much behind it. The reality, though, however, is that at one point, all reason and logic do not apply to people with addictions anymore. Of course, the individual case always depends but this very harsh sentence highly disagreed with me. But just like I stated before, I am very happy that Autumn is contributing to a normalization of some sorts of weed. Of course, weed can be a serious drug and people can abuse weed just as many are abusing alcohol. It still seems the general public is missing out on the fact that weed does indeed have a positive side effect. (as opposed to alcohol, which has none).

2) As I said: alcohol is a drug too. And many people are abusing it. If we are being strict about the definition, everybody who drinks alcohol regularly is an addict. It seems perfectly fine to drink almost every day and get drunk every weekend although it has been proven over and over that, yes, even one beer does harm your body. I don’t see the LOKI guys calling each other out on that, but God forbid somebody would do something else than that.

⇝Short excursion that has nothing to do with the content of this amazing book: In general: that being said, it is never our place to judge others for something they do to themselves. To simplify: If you think that hot neighbour of yours wears too short of a skirt or is exercising too much, you should reconsider, because it is none of your business and probably rooted in the opinion other women are your competition. Spoiler alert: they aren’t. Not if you don’t know them and/or they haven’t done anything bad to anybody else. The only enemy are those who support structures that brainwash you into believing so.

Z and Lilly’s story has come to an end. For now cause the series will continue through other characters and thankfully I’ll still get more of these two amazing characters.
Zero Apologies continues immediately where Zero Regret ended. The pace was a little slow for me to begin with but the story quickly got its footing and picked up its pace and I was immersed as I always am when I’m reading a Lost Kings book.
Lilly showed how strong she truly is and if she’s capable of being an ol’ lady to a Lost King. I really enjoyed watching her grow over these three books and come to terms with what and who she wants in her life. Z and his Loki family is who she needs and wants to be a part of.
Z once again made me swoon, ache and soar. All he sees is Lilly and their son Chance and will do anything to show the people and his club how devoted he is. To them and to his club.
The old gang was there to support Z and Lilly. This tribe holds a special place in my heart. Murphy, Teller, Wrath, Rock and Z enjoy busting each other’s balls and there’s plenty of it in ZA. The ol’ ladies have their fun too. New faces such as Rooster and Jigsaw has made an impression on me. There’s still plenty of story left to tell. The epilogue is definitely proof of that!
Next up is Murphy and Heidi’s wedding and I can’t freaking wait!

Quite an anticlimactic end of a lukewarm trilogy.

Everything we needed to to know happened in the second one; here we basically got a recycled story from Rock and Hope, but cut out for Z and Lilly. And I get it that Ms. Lake wanted to spend more time with the older characters, but making us get through all of the MC politics was way too soap opera style for me. It was dragging, REPETITIVE and boring.
So I guess I'm done with the series.

PS. Why do authors keep dividing the stories of the same couples? I get it with a duet, sometimes it just makes sense. But three books? And a prequel as well?! Really? It wasn't such an exciting story to be dragged out that much, to be honest.

Maybe I'll come back to the next books later, but right now I'm just pissed because of all the time lost.

4 Z and Lilly Stars.

This was the much anticipated third book focussing on Lilly and Z. It carries straight on from the previous book and although our couple are together, they are facing huge problems and Lilly in particular has to decide whether she is going to stay by Z's side or if the lifestyle and the risks it carries are too much for her.

I did enjoy this story but it was a little bit slow to get going and for me it didn't really pick up until the 38% mark. The first part is important though and is pivotal to the story.

The secondary characters are building in the LOKI world and some are more likeable than others. The Downstate Charter is different to our Upstate LOKI guys and I have struggled a little with the division. It felt very much like this book is a huge turning point in the series and I am excited to see what happens next.

Loved how Murphy can still mess with Z .... It doesn't matter that he is the temporary Downstate President.

I press the white button. “Please state your business.” Now I’m annoyed. “Are you fucking serious? It’s your president.” “What’s the password?” “Let me in or I’m going to shoot whoever this is.” “That was yesterday’s password.” The prankster laughs and I finally realize it’s Murphy fucking with me.

HEA? Yes
Cheating? No

Usually when an author bombards me with potential plot bunnies for a handful of side-characters during a book I get ragey. But I’ve been reading this series for years now and I freaking love that I’ll be able to follow the LOKI family for years to come.

This 3rd book in Z & Lilly’s trilogy was bittersweet for me. These two have been dancing around each other for years in this series. Lily disappeared and secretly had his baby...Z began whoring his way through the female population to forget about her...but finally they’ve got their HEA. And like all good authors Autumn has given us what we needed in his ending, not what we wanted. Well...what I wanted anyway. Because IRL people grow and change and it’s the same for fictional MC families. So I find myself reflective at the end of this one. Not quite feeling the complete satisfaction I’m used to with this series but instead feeling confident that everyone has still ended up where they’re meant to be.

Same thing I always say when I start my review.... I'm loving this series...lol. Will Z or also known as Zero ever get to go home?

Spoiler ahead ..

If you have read the books ahead of this one you know Z is acting President at the down state Lost Kings MC. Will Sway take back over and ruin all the hard work Z and the other brothers of this club has done or will Z not getting to go home? Hate to tell you but we still don't know even after this book...

Now I'm asking for a favor from anyone else who has read this series. I understand why at first Z didn't want everyone to know him and Lilly were connected.....it was because the lawyers were trying to make her testify in the political scandal . After the rapist political azzhole died I can't understand why they are still hiding it. What did I miss? I will admit I fell to sleep one night while reading and I went back farther than I needed to so I didn't miss anything but guess I didn't go back enough. Help me please

And Finally We Have It...

We certainly have waited a long time for Z and Lilly's story and I can finally acknowledge the wait was worth it.

Z... Ah Z. I have loved this character from the very get go. He is generally a lovable guy and how he was with Hope from the beginning solidified my thoughts throughout all the Lost King books.

In these 3 books we discovered a more emotional Z than I expected. His love for his Brothers, well the whole Lost King family was endearing. His love for Lilly and Chance just came off the pages so well and it was fantastic to read.

As much as I would love Z back upstate with the gang I actually wanted him staying downstate to grow more and his level of maturity shined through. I mentioned in the readers group a while ago when he first went Downstate, he is a born leader and he thrived in this role. And as Rock mentioned at Z and Lilly's reception, with Lilly at his side, it makes him a better man. And again it just shined through.

Now Lilly, our girl Lilly. Like Z, I loved Lilly from the start. It was tough reading her 2 year break over the last couple of books but to see her be all in for Z and both at his side and have his back in this book, was just brilliant. I didn't expect anything else really but she still blew me away.

It was really great to read a lot more of our other favourite characters in this particular book. Get togethers which I should imagine will be a frequent thing.

Autumn has yet again given us another enjoyable, funfilled, loveable story to read. She lives for these characters and it certainly shines through in her writing and creating such amazing characters and story lines for them. As for her Epilogue's and Author Notes, there are also enjoyable to read.

I have well and truly cemented my backside on the LOKI train for as long and as far as this ride takes me.

Well Autumn Jones Lake does it again, what a way to end the story of Zero and Lilly. I loved it.

When I first started reading Zero Tolerance and Zero regret I wanted Z to go back home where he belongs but reading Zero Apologies I think he is exactly where he is meant to be. He has the love of a good woman, his Son and a charter that respects him, he is a fantastic president and I truly believe he will do wonderful things. He’s smart, sexy, and has the love of all those around him. No wonder everybody goes Gaga over Z , he’s the ultimate alpha and these 3 books showcased all that he has to offer.

14 books in and this MC family keeps getting stronger and stronger with each story. I hope Autumn never ends this series ( it would be a sad day) I love hearing about all the added kids, this family has worked it’s way into my heart and it’s so exciting to see where we could possibly go to next. I know Autumn will continue giving us one hell of a ride .

Well done on another exceptional read . It deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The conclusion of Z and Lilly's story was exactly what I needed. I really enjoyed seeing the support cast from both the upstate and downstate chapters. At first I was hesitant to get attached to Z's new brothers in this charter, but Autumn hooked me as usual and has me craving more. She knows how to do what's best for the story, especially in an ongoing series, versus just wrapping everything in a neat little bow that might have been easier to write. This dual POV narrative shows how hard the struggle is for both Z and Lilly and this new world they're determined to create with each other. The steam level was just what I've come to expect from Autumn Jones Lake and I had no complaints. That epilogue left me with more questions about the future LOKI generation! I can't wait to see what White Lies has in store for our boys.

I hated to leave a 2* review for Z. Unfortunately the best part of the book was the epilogue. I found the book boring and started skipping pages didn't need to be 3 books as this book really had nothing more to add than the first 2 books. Loved Z did not like Lily for him. I felt no connection on her part. Felt like she was using him and he just settled with her because he wanted what the other guys had. With all the hype of having 3 books I guess I just expected more for the last book. Oh and just a fyi if you are in one of the authors groups don't mention you don't like a character i said I didn't like Lily for Z and I got kick out of the group. Needless to say the author lost an avid 1 click reader.

Autumn did such a wonderful job delivering the last in Zero and Lilly's trilogy. I couldn't put this book down which happens anytime I pick up a book by Autumn. We are finally prepared for these two to get their HEA but once again their journey isn't done with the twists and turns.

Their love and commitment really gets put to the test in this one when they could lose it all. The MC is going to once again rally and show Lilly the family she could have with them but of course there are those that are going to make things hard.

This trilogy is definitely a don't miss trilogy but really all her Lost Kings MC men are worth the time to read. I can't wait to see what lies in store for us next!!!

ETA another fine and fitting “ending” for my two favourite characters. I do hope we hear more from them as the series progresses though.

Wow!! What an exciting and emotional finish to Lilly and Z's tumultuous relationship. There were plenty of scary twists and edge of your seat moments (no surprise there considering how this author loves to tease us) but through it all I was confident L & Z & little Chance would get their HEA. How about all those kids though...LOKI MC needs to open a daycare center next to that strip club...hehe...but seriously, it was heart-warming to see how all these hardened bikers could be so gentle and loving with their kids.
I really enjoyed the journey we were taken on and how the relationships evolved not only between the different clubs but between the brothers and extended families (Lilly and her brother Alex for sure) and things are left in a pretty good place for everyone. Bravo AJL for another great read!

I met Zero and Lilly about 5 years ago. That’s when I met the Lost Kings MC. The minute they landed on the page I knew without a doubt they belonged together, forever. They took their sweet time getting there, but here we are …. But here’s the thing, Autumn never stops building her world or her people so this isn’t really a conclusion, more like a fork in the road for the Lost Kings MC and a pause of focus on Z and Lilly. And it is for that very reason I find myself telling you for the umpteenth time, none of these books are standalones and anyone that tries to tell you that they are just ridiculous. The brotherhood/family of the Lost Kings MC is as important as the journey of any two people in one of these books. You cannot just start with Z and Lilly, for example. I mean you can, but that’s just dumb. So don’t.

There’s not much to say about this particular bundle of words LOL If there is anyone out there that didn’t realize Z and Lilly would end up married and living HEA after they finished Zero Tolerance just wasn’t paying attention. I myself knew it after I read Slow Burn lol However, their lives are not smooth sailing and that’s what these last two books have really been about. That’s what most of the books are about if I’m being honest. Autumn can layer a journey like nobody’s business. The woman is ridiculously good at her craft. I have never read a series this deep in books without some misstep at some point … There are no missteps in the now eighteen books that comprise The Lost Kings MC. NONE. Let that sink in for a second …. Yeah, that’s something, right?! So if you’re new to this author, get to reading because it is an epic ride no one should miss.

One last thing I’m gonna say is about a particular circumstance in this book. I can’t explain in detail because, spoiler, but those of you that are fans will know what I’m talking about. If you’re surprised at the geographical portion of the ending of this story, quit not paying attention!!

Autumn Jones Lake continues to prove that a long running series can still stand strong 14 books in.

Zero Apologies picked up where Zero Regret finished (thank goodness!!!), being left hanging wondering what happened was cleared up very quickly giving a full picture straight up. There was certainly some twists and turns keeping me on my toes wondering which direction their story was going in.

‘“With me… in here, express everything you need to. Feel everything with me. Out there, be the president they need.” I clear my throat and trace his cheek with my finger. “I’ll be by your side for both”.‘

I really can’t say much more as I don’t want to give anything away as it is the 3rd and final instalment for Z & Lilly and all the questions I have been asking was answered.

I personally loved reading this story; Z & Lilly have explosive chemistry that will burn up the pages. Lake has delivered a masterpiece leaving me feeling warm and fuzzy until my book hangover begins and the countdown for book 15 starts.

I don’t even know where to start with this. Autumn is hands down my favorite author or all time and the LOKI series and the characters within really hold a special place in my heart so I may be a little biased. However this book was so good. I’m always so worked up waiting for another book in this series and I’m always nervous I may end up feeling let down but never once have I every actually felt that way with a LOKI book. Autumn knows what she’s doing and this book was no different. Z has come along way in life in general never mind how far he has come with the club both upstate and downstate. Lilly too. They so deserved their happy ending and just like Autumn said, I could definitely go for many more Z books. But I feel that way about all my Lost Kings who I could happily read forever. Although the book didn’t exactly end how I hoped I understand why Autumn did it and it definitely didn’t make me love her or the book any less. I’m so happy she writes her books so fast because I don’t think I could last very long without a new one coming out. Autumn, you rock girl! Keep it up because me and the rest of your loyal readers with always be here to support you and our Lost Kings.

This series is excellent.
It's best to read the series in order as although each couple have a story per book or per duet or trilogy, the enemy threat often runs for more than just their book and the couples relationships and friendship build through each book.
This is the conclusion to Z and Lilly's story.
The book picks up from the previous one with Z having been taken in by the cops.
The enemy threat is revealed and the situation with Sway is resolved, sort of.
The couples relationship is solid, they only have eyes for each other, no cheating..
That said there is ex drama and other woman drama as Z had been involved with many women before getting serious with Lilly.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
Secondary characters for future books in series and updates of previous characters in series plus exploration for another charter which could open up further books or a spin off series.
HEA but I'm sure we will see more in the rest of the series.
Epilogue.

Z and Lilly's newest book is here! I may have done a spectacularly awkward happy dance when I saw it had hit my Kindle.
In Zero Apologies Autumn Jones Lakes wraps up all the loose ends that have been hanging around since book one, Zero Tolerance. Her books don't leave us with a cliffhanger, (I prefer to call them happy for now endings) but she always gives us a little something extra to think about and the end of Zero Regret is no different. Don't worry though Autumn does what she always does so brilliantly and guides us through to our happy place.
I know there were a lot of readers excited for Z's story, and I have to say I was indifferent before. I felt like I didn't connect with Z enough to be begging Autumn to write his book next. I am happy to report that after this trio of books, I have fallen in love with this tattoed alpha and his feisty siren.
The Lost Kings Series is more than a book about an outlaw motorcycle club, it's about a family, and each book is like coming home.

Received an ARC for a fair and honest review. OMG! What an journey Z and Lilly have been on. This HFN ending gripped me from beginning to end. Loved the banter between Z and Murphy, and the interactions between upstate and downstate.
Love the way Autumn weaves threads through all her books and how they get answered and other stories start. There are so many little side stories that I want to follow and see the journey of both clubs.
Loved Rock’s speech at a certain part of the story and I had a few tears here and there and laughed out loud at the banter between the guys and how that Lilly found a family she didn’t know she was looking for just like Hope.
The trilogy has had plenty twists and turns and the characters really feel real.
Thanks Autumn for this amazing series.

While I enjoyed this one for me it was the weakest of the trilogy.
Still it’s a nice entertaining read

4.5 ⭐️ This one was so tough for me. I hate change so having to accept the fact that Z would be staying downstate broke my heart 😭 He’s such an amazing Prez and he’s done so much for that charter but the thought of the gang not being together everyday hurts! They were all meant to build houses on the property and the kids were meant to grow up together 💔 Whatever, it’s fine. I’m over it 🫠

As long as we get to see Chance and Grace grow up and fall in love then I’m good 😌

Once again we got to see just how much family means to the LOKI brothers. They way everyone rallied around Lilly and Chance while Z was away was very sweet. Rock forever proving he’s the most incredible person ever 🥺

Z & Lilly have been the couple I’ve been excited to see from book one and they’re right up there with Rock & Hope for me 🤍 They love each other with everything they have and their bond is truly soul deep. I love their little family so much and can’t wait to see it grow 🥲

Definitely excited for Rooster’s books, can’t wait to dive a little deeper into his character but I’m so glad we get to see Murphy & Heidi get married first! I’ve been waiting to see more from them and sweet little Alexa, plus it’ll be nice to be back upstate again 🤍

So I’m gonna start by saying this is a 10 star read! There is nothing that Autumn Jones Lake writes that I will ever not love! All her books are 10 start reads! I absolutely love Z! Have since I read Slow Burn and he called Lily big titts! Lol. I always had mixed emotions on how I felt with him being with Lily and of someone better was out there for him. But after the conclusion I was very impressed with how their relationship developed and grew. I am however extremely disappointed that Z had to stay downstate. I understand Autumn couldn’t control that. You go where the story leads and I understand it. I did cry and it broke my heart but I understand their is more good for him to do and grow their and lily makes a damn fine First Lady. Lol. I’m glad Autumn waited this long to do Z’s story. She took her time and made better than I could have ever imagined she could have. There is only one thing I didn’t like and it was the mention of the Iron Bulls. I felt like they should be written out if the fans aren’t ever gonna get more about them from Phoenix. I’m excited and devastated at the same when I read an update about them and know a new book for them won’t be coming anytime soon if not at all. But as a reader that is my opinion. But it doesn’t chAnge the fact that this is a kick ass book and fucking amazing series that should be read by all! I make every person I come into contact with that says they love to read download slow burn and tell them get to reading.... you ain’t a real reader unless you love this book! Great writing Autumn! Can’t wait for white lies!

I would definitely recommend this book!!!! But you must start from the beginning of the series. You won’t regret it.
