Twenty heroes have been stolen. Removed from their times, their worlds, and their lives, they're put in front of a bloodthirsty audience to fight.
Rylie Gresham, Elise Kavanagh, James Faulkner, and many other heroes who began as allies have no choice but to kill each other.
Every one of these people has fought to save the world. They've killed and died. And now they must become enemies in order to meet the monster behind it all.
SHOWDOWN is a 30,000-word novella that was originally serialized online as an interactive reader event. It's not intended to be read unless you're a fan of The Descentverse (such as The Descent Series, The Ascension Series, or Seasons of the Moon).
Hi everyone! My name is Sara, and I write urban fantasy and paranormal novels as SM Reine. I collect swords, cat hair, and typewriters (which I do use for writing!). It's a good day when those three things have nothing to do with each other.
If you would like to know the instant my next book is available, you should enlist in my Army of Evil! We have a wicked cool secret handshake, but you'll have to sign up to learn it. ;) Check it out -- http://smarturl.it/armyofevil
2.5 stars. I figured I would love this because I've read most of S.M. Reine's books, and loved them. I'm extremely familiar with these characters. However, it was just meh for me. The plot twist really threw me off, but not in a good way. It just came off as weird and awkward.
As both admins, me being one, of the fan group Army of Evil are the instigators in this series, we totally enjoyed being the makers of mayhem. If you've read the series, Sara did a brackets type death match of her heroes and the resulting carnage was a thing of beauty. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as we did.

An absolute must for descentiverse fans and a decent stand alone for anyone who wants to dip a toe in a vast world of amazing characters and gripping stories loved every moment.
Great read. Different than the others in the series. It put a new approach to how a writer can think. I have never read one where the author wrote themselves into the story. Great perspective
I feel like I should have caught on sooner, but I didn't. It was fun seeing some of the old crew again, even if I didn't recall all the details of each one.
This is a superb brain twisted with all of your favourite characters by this author all in one place! Brilliantly written as always! Highly recommended!
