Award-winning teacher Steve Cwodzinski was never content just imparting the assigned curriculum to his students. He saw in them the need to learn important life lessons as well about values, self-motivation, relationships, inquisitiveness, adventure, and so much more. Using his own struggles with growing up and overcoming a life-threatening accident, he began to weave his personal stories and questions about life into his classes. Over thirty-three years, Steve developed these sometimes quirky but always tantalizing mental excursions into a list of thirty-three provocative questions that could help guide his students’ lives. The results were often magical, and he discovered that these questions could benefit everyone no matter what their age. Now they are yours. Never stop striving to find your own answers.
I may be biased as Steve Cwodzinski was and always will be one of my favorite teachers, but I loved the book. It made me laugh out loud. It oozes positivity and encourages always living life to its fullest.
Cwod was my US History teacher in 10th grade. Go Badgers! (See chapter 27) I remember being enthralled by his unique ranting and undecipherable blackboard scribbles. I remember his class being tough but enlightening. I credit his class for a large part of my political awakening. Yet, I can't remember the day to day lessons and only remember a handful of assignments. Reading this book was like flashing back to those lectures in 10th grade. I found myself able to complete quotes before actually reading them with my eyes as the wisdom of Cwod came rushing back from the depths of memories. I had intended this book to be a quick read that would hopefully make me chuckle as I remember that Cwod told a lot of jokes, but I thought I'd find myself quickly passing it off to another alumnus to read. After finishing, I am proud to add this to my bookshelf to read again when I need a reminder of life lessons that I've unconsciously carried with me for nearly 20 years.
This book was written from my Senior Government teacher in High School and I was right back in the classroom listening to these stories. Just like Cwod himself, the books inspires me and makes me want to be better. Brilliant read.
