no rating because i buddy-read this with @Riya purely for the nostalgic vibes. it's just as i remembered it, if a little watered down. finding the same old mouse/rat puns was super nostalgic.

The Thea Sisters return in this mystery. They go to Hollywood to visit Jenna, their friend, and her sister Terri, who works at a film studio. They get to visit the set of The Powerpaw Mouselets. They watch some filming, including scenes with the famous Johnny Ratt. But one night when Terri is working late, she is locked in a closet and the film is stolen. Meanwhile, the princess of Mousitania has gone missing. The Thea Sisters have to help Terri find the missing film so she doesn't lose her job, as well as keeping an eye out for the princess.

Like the other books, there are many mouse references. They say other mice are "squeaking" instead of "speaking," and their investigation has "more holes than a slice of  Swiss." There are also mouse versions of celebrities. The famous actor is Johnny Ratt instead of Johnny Depp, and the director of a movie is Ratatino rather than Tarantino. They also pass the Mouselor on the street, who is like the Bachelor.

This was a clever mystery. I couldn't figure out what happened and was surprised at it. This is a good story, which would be great for middle grade readers!

Man, this was so good! Two things coming together in one mystery.

I didn’t expect it at all. Plus, California is the perfect setting of the story. Reminds me of the days I’ve been there two years ago.

My niece loaned me this book, she loved it so much she wanted me to read it. ☺️ Being a children’s book, it was a quick, easy read, finished it in less than 2 hours. But it was enjoyable. Fast-paced but I can tell that it would keep the target audience (2nd to 4th graders) interested.

Hooray! The Thea Sisters are going to California! They're visiting a friend, and guess what?! She invited them to a movie set in Hollywood! The Thea Sisters are having so much fun, but then a crucial reel of movie film was stolen! Will the Thea Sisters be able to solve the mystery of 'Whostoleit?' I loved this series so much when I was younger! Even now when I go to the library I always look in the section where the Thea Stilton books are and if there's one I haven't read, I check it out for a quick read. If you like mysteries then 100% look into this series! There's also another one similar to this series called Geronimo Stilton, but they're not specifically mystery books. I like Geronimo Stilton's 'Journey Through Time' books a lot. I sometimes read them for homeschool if they cover what we're doing in history.

The Hollywood Hoax was a satisfying addition to the Thea Stilton series. Although it did lack some of the excitement from other cases, the team did a good job showcasing California to young readers and discussing common themes with media like this (stars aren't all what you read about, film sets are busy, etc.). The look into technical aspects should hold their attention. The mystery also took a few unexpected turns. Its resolution works, and is a nice departure from this series' norm. I'm also happy the writers are continuing to show off the Sisters' personalities in ways that benefit the respective books.

I liked this book because it was interesting when Terri gets trapped. A princess named princess Lane goes missing! The mousettes search everywhere but they can’t find Terri. They split up,when they meet again they feel someone watching them.

It’s a book about mysteries that happen on a movie set. Adventures around Los Angeles and cat-astrophes everywhere. I loved reading it and found it hard to put down. 👍😆
