Classic Nora Roberts!

When I picked up this book, I thought “Hooray!” I finally have all of Nora’s books. But I’d been mistaken. I’d read both before, both are in separate omnibuses, but that’s okay, LOL! I loved them both anyway and read them again. I’m missing “Promise Me Tomorrow.”

Opposites Attract

Married and recently divorced, Asher Wolfe is back on the tennis circuit. And she plans to win it all. She’d left suddenly 3 years before, and after having announced her retirement, her father/mentor, refused to speak to her. A loveless marriage ends in divorce and now Asher wants to conquer the tennis world once again. One thing - she has to learn to block her heart from Ty Starbuck - and she better learn fast.

Ty knows Asher’s back, and he plans on cornering her. Three years ago, she left without even saying goodbye, without leaving a note. He thought she loved him. He loved her, planned to ask her to marry him, but on the night he wanted to propose, she disappears, only for him to hear she’s agreed to marry someone else.

Three years later, Ty’s still hurting and angry, and as much as he wants revenge … but both have changed, even though they still secretly love each other. Secrets that can hurt/destroy them both are about to be known, but will Ty be able to get over Asher’s biggest secret of all?

**Incredible! The intensity you can feel between them is palpable to say the least, love scenes making the reader hot under the collar! Descriptions put you right there with the couple, right there in the middle of all tennis matches, won or lossed. Different places and settings, you can’t help getting swept away with the story.

A Will and a Way

After the death of their uncle, the will is read before the entire family. Even from the grave, Uncle Jolley is having the last laugh. He gave the meaningless things to his son, to the rest of the family. But to Pandora and Michael, he left the “rest of his estate, in entirety, all accounts, all business interests, all stocks, bonds and trusts, all real and personal property with all affection. Share and share alike… I ask only one thing of each of them in return. Beginning no more than a week after the reading of this document, Pandora and Michael will move into my home, Jolley’s Folley. They will live there together for a period of six months, neither one spending more than two nights in succession under another roof. … You have my blessing, children. Don’t let an old, dead man down.” Pandora is shocked; she doesn’t want the money and the holdings and the responsibility that comes with it, but she does want Jolley’s Folley, the only real home she’s ever known.

But Michael wants it as well, and he convinces her to stay. Up until now, they only got on each other’s nerves when under the same roof. Will they be able to make it the whole six months? The rest of the family is in an uproar. Once Pandora and Michael move into the house, strange things begin to happen, and the antics get bigger. At first, it looks like one is playing tricks on the other and vice versa… But the notion is quickly put to rest. The question remains… Who’s pulling these tricks? Obviously someone wants to stop Michael and Pandora from getting through the entire six months. But who?

**I loved this one, even the first time I read it. The way they fought their attraction to each other, the way they irritated each other, the way the defended and fought for each other, and the sweetest things Michael does for Pandora … *sigh* A wonderful love story together with mystery and suspense, all wrapped with Nora’s writing style and descriptions, you can’t ask for a better story.

Did not enjoy (or finish reading)the first story. No real plot - just over and over again--"she doesn't want him, she does want him, she doesn't want him, etc. etc.
The second story had the same basic theme, but did have an interesting story line. Good for a light, enjoyable read.

The first book was just beautiful! It started off with a good explanation of the two main character and their personality and relationship with each other. The dynamic between Michael and Pandora was beautiful too! I loved how they grew to love each other and fell in love. I also enjoyed the mystery aspect of all the small crimes/jokes that happened to them. In the last few chapters I started to theorize that all the family members where in on it, and in the end it turned out right. It was a beautiful ending of a well written story! I'd give it a 4,5 star rating.

In the second book, I loved the drama and the relationship between the main characters in this book as well! I loved the mystery element of not knowing what happened exactly in the past and finding out while reading. I was amazed at how many things I didn't expected came out if nowhere. It was an amazing read! I love Nora Roberts writing!! I'd give this book a 4 star rating.

I enjoyed both of thes books offered in one book by Roberts
a) Opposites Attract

Now, after years apart, Asher discovers to her horror she still wants him—needs him. But she knows if she reveals the truth, she could lose it all again. Lost his child in a fall down the stairs.
b) A Will and a Way

But that wasn't part of the plan—one that isolated them both in a Catskill mansion with strange things happening. The strangest being her reluctant attraction to a man who might be trying to get rid of her. It was the uncle who tried many time to get rid of BOTH.

I loved this novel. This novel kept me challenged with new vocabulary and new concepts, with twists and turns, and a happy ending. If it was possible to give a 10, I would be the first to do it! Absolutely love this book!

Enjoyed the first book with relationships of two tennis professionals. The second book was even better with a love interest and a lot of family mysteries that unfolded right up until the end!

A collection of Nora Roberts early romances (Harlequin-style) repackaged into a one book. The stories are actually quite good. The first is typical Harlequin angst with an atypical setting - the world of tennis. Asher left Ty 3 years ago, quite suddenly and married someone else. After she divorces the other guy, she heads back to the game of tennis and back to Ty as well. The characters were great, the angst was nearly painful before the end and I was highly entertained. I have to complain about unrealistic behavior on the part of the Hero. He abandons his plans for revenge and anger quite early, but he allows the heroine to escape explanations for way too long. He tells himself he's giving her time, but when the woman he loves walks in to his life after having left him suddenly and married another without an explanation it seems completely unreal to me that he doesn't demand and do everything he can for a explanation. And he forgives her far too quickly without having had that explanation. Very unrealistic in that respect.

The second story was also very entertaining, but wasn't as angsty as the first. In this one, Michael and Pandora have to spend 6 months together in their uncle's house in order to inherit it and his money and keep it all out of the hands of their greedy family. There's plenty of banter, that love-and-annoyance-are-two-sides-of-the-same-coin interactions and there's a mystery to be solved as well. All of those kept me reading. But the true gem here is how the characters develop as a couple. They start out snippy and kind of uncomfortable with one another, not really liking the other, and before long they become comfortable and their friendship and attraction begins to grow. I really enjoyed reading that. There were however some slow moving parts, but it's not a long enough story to really detract from it overall.

I really loved the first book. I would give it 5 starts easily, but the second book just ruined it for me. I like the story, but the author made them cousins who have sex and get married. That is disgusting and I kept waiting for Michael to actually not be related to her. At the end of the book they are still family and are still having sex. yuck!!!!!

This was a pretty good book. I didn't realize it was 2 books in 1 until I finished with the first book. The second book was a lot better than the first. I was dying to find out who did it. She has potential for being able to write a mystery book.

First story was good - learned a few things about being on the pro tennis circuit.

Second story was a great Agatha Christie type "who dunnit?" Gathering all the suspects and having them crack after staging a scene meant to catch the culprit!

Delightful summer reading!!

The first story was ok...there was way too much he said she said going on and the drama was predictable. The second story was really ok and overall the whole thing was so-so.

2 books in 1, one of her earlier novels. A love story together with mystery and suspense. I didn't care for it too much. I like her later novels better.
