Oh man, these are so good. I figured out there must have been something hidden inside one of the statues when Holmes got Watson to point out that the criminal waited to break the statue under a street light. I love how Holmes is happy to work with Lestrade, and vice versa. Baudet stays true to the spirit of Arthur Conan Doyle.

A story similar to the blue carbuncle, once again a gem was placed in a position to be later retrieved, a case such as this can only be solved by Mr Holmes

if you're up for a mystery, then you hafta read this book! in the book, Holmes has to stop a madman from smashing the Napoleon statues and achieving the borjia pearl! a really good book.
