Haven escaped the clutches of the new Sun Sovereign and found solace in Shadoria, but for how long?
Now that the extent of her powers is known, Solis, Noctis, and mortals all hunt her. Meanwhile, chaos reigns across the land. The immortal realm is ruled by a depraved King who will stop at nothing to reclaim Haven as a weapon, while the mortal lands must choose between serving a tyrant or following Prince Bell, the Kinslayer.
And below, in the Netherworld, a great evil awaits, amassing an army of untold powers.
Hunted, plagued by doubt, and torn between duty and love, Haven must find a way to broker peace between the nations before it’s too late.
Welcome to the Kingdom of Runes where immortals and humans clash, light and dark magic reign, and mythical creatures lurk in the shadows. If you like fierce heroines, enemies-to-lovers romance, wild plot twists, and endearing characters that stay with you long after you reach the end, you need to discover the book readers are calling dark fantasy at its best. Just make sure to clear out some space on your calendar first!
Thank you to the author for allowing me to read an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review!
”The dark wolf howled, and she answered it with a resounding call of her own, so loud that it reached into the heavens and shook the stars from the sky.”
This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it was truly worth the wait! Light Singer was action packed from the very beginning and if you are already a fan Audrey’s writing, you’re going to love it even more now.
The story picks up shortly after after Kings Maker ended and we are reunited with Haven’s crew and all the characters we love. (And some I’m not so sure about yet haha)
The romance was phenomenal as usual. One word, people.. STOLAS! If Stolas didn’t win over your heart before, I guarantee he will this time. I spent most of the book swooning, and yelling at and for him! Haha
The character development was so beautifully done. Especially for Haven, Stolas and Bell. We watch how each of them deals with the issues they have within while trying to prevent a war, fight the creatures that threaten their home and fight the feelings they are desperately trying to hide.
So many questions were answered, some I already guessed and I couldn’t be happier that I was right. We are also left with new questions, new enemies and plenty of reasons to be worried for these characters we’ve grown to love!!
The epilogue was intense I have have a feeling I know exactly what Nasira’s bargain was. I can’t wait for the final book, ’Dark Bringer’.
GOD. What can I even say?? It's incredible, first of all, how much Audrey Grey's writing has sharpened over the course of this series. If you are an avid new adult/ya fantasy reader and love SJ Maas and Holly Black, then you really really need to read this series.
Now, onto Light Singer. This installment had EVERYTHING. And after 3 books, we FINALLY have an entire book that features enough Stolas. The book starts where the last one left off and is a nonstop adventure. We get to see more of Shadoria, as well as other lands, and there's plenty of political dynamics, games, STEAMY SCENES, tension, battles, and basically everything you could ask for in a great fantasy book. The thing I love about this book and series in general, is that it never sacrifices the plot, which actually makes the romance so so incredibly meaningful.
There were several scenes that I went back and reread and I just truly can't wait for the final book (although I'm already getting sad thinking about it).
Thank you so much to the author for the ARC and TRUST ME, you guys will want to read this. It's truly such a hidden gem and in my eyes, is just as well written & magical as some of my favorite NY Times bestselling fantasy authors.
I have never been so frustrated with a character as I was with Haven in this book. Seriously, I felt like I wanted to throw my kindle across the room multiple times while reading this.
First 60% of the book - 1 star Last 40% of the book - 5 stars
I do think the writing is good and the overall series is enjoyable, especially the side characters and world-building, but I am going to have to give this book 2 stars just because I was really frustrated for a majority of it. Sorry ☹️
🦸 HAVEN DROVE ME ABSOLUTELY CRAZY with her constant self-criticism. I get that sometimes it's important to show a character is sad and not confident in his or her ability to "save the world". Saving the world is a big deal and can be a lot of pressure on a teenager lol. But does it need to last for 60% of a book so late in the series?!? She was constantly ashamed of herself for not being stronger. Constantly feeling like a failure even though no one else shared this opinion. Constantly doubting that Stolas could actually love her since he was just being nice because of his sworn duty to her. **massive eye roll** It got so frustrating after about the 25% mark
😴 NOT MUCH FORWARD PROGRESS was made in this book. The only positive thing Haven really accomplished was confirming one ally. It would have been much more satisfying if the plotline with the paintings was completely resolved going into the final book.
❤️ IT TOOK WAY TOO LONG for Stolas and Haven to finally be together. They got to third base in the previous book... it was blatantly obvious that they were meant to be together... so when they weren't sleeping together by the 50% mark I thought "what is the point of me reading this book?!" I'm here for some smut please 😅
🏰 THIS WORLD IS SO IMMENSE that it really makes you appreciate the amount of effort and detail that Audrey Grey has put into the world-building. There are so many different nations and races that are all really fleshed out and unique. It can be a little overwhelming sometimes if you forget what X is, but overall I find it very impressive.
👪 THE SIDE CHARACTERS are really great! All of the side characters have such unique personalities and are written in a very real way. I feel like each character adds a special spunk to the story and embodies the nation they come from in a way that really compliments the world-building.
🤗 I DID END UP REALLY ENJOYING the last 40% of the book because I feel like this is when the plot started picking up and interesting things began happening, especially their time in the Demon Realm. I wish the entire book could have been this captivating and fast paced.
I will probably read the final book in the series since I've already made it this far and I am hoping for a HEA ending. I'm not sure if I can recommend this series, but if you are thinking about reading it, I would strongly suggest waiting until all of the books are out before starting. The world is so big and complex that it can be kind of confusing to remember everything if you have to wait 10 months between books. I think binge reading this series would make for a much more enjoyable experience.
I fucking love this series. I am so glad I finally got to see my damn ship sail. ITS BEEN SO LONG!! I have been here pining for FOUR BOOKS AUDREY.
I love Haven and seeing her adventures and how she goes about solving new problems. This book introduces some more plot lines and mythology about Haven's parents and her own mortal lifespan. There's also a lot of preparing for war. I know Dark Bringer is going to be a hell of a ride and I cannot wait for it.

I’ve never let myself read ‘whatever’. Then Covid paused the library system and I let myself go 😆 Hundreds of books later...I must admit that Grey writes a better and more tightly woven story than 90% of seemingly endless books I’ve devoured of e same genre the last few months.
“Careful how you address her,” Stolas drawled, the grave warning beneath that mannered tone making even Haven shiver. “The ivory walls of this room have a wonderful airiness that would be lost if I had to paint them with your blood.”
Audrey has done it again!!!!! I DEVOURED THE HELL OUT OF THIS BOOK OVER THE WEEKEND. My goodness.
From start to finish, I could not for the life of me put this book down. The plot was fantastic. The storyline and twists.... I can't even deal right now.
My only complaint is that it's over and that there wasn't enough Bell scenes :( Seeing more Stolas made up for it though!!!!
This series has become my favorite series of all time! Each book gets better and better and now I'm left waiting for next year to hurry up and come so I can read the final book in the series!
To start, STOLAS!!! That is all... okay but really we got so much more of Stolas and I was so happy. He is easily top 3 book boyfriend for me! Haven is still just as bad*ss as ever but she also shows so much vulnerability in this book and it is so wonderfully done. She is struggling with events that happened in the last book and eventually start to overcome it. The character development in this book was amazing, it wasn't just Haven either, Bell also grew as a character along with Stolas. I really enjoyed getting Stolas's POV and just overall learning more about him as a character.
Our beloved characters had a lot to deal with in this book and we got a lot of answers as well, now don't assume everything is tied up in a pretty bow, we still have one more book to go! Audrey Grey did not disappoint with this book at all, it was everything I hoped and more, I am only sad that I have finished it and now have to wait. I highly recommend this series.
A huge thank you to Audrey Grey for the chance to read this ARC for an honest review, this made my year.
He suddenly maneuvered behind her, his muscular legs opening to wrap around her own as his cool breath slid over her neck and right jaw.
“Comfortable now, Beastie?”
Her heart dipped before stuttering into a wild rhythm. She should have chosen the volcano.
****
Did I obsessively read this book, staying up all hours to finish... maybe.
It has been long anticipated, and I am so pleased to say that the fourth installment of Audrey Grey's Kingdom of Runes series DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
This entire series has been such a fun read, far to easy to get lost in and lose all sense of life responsibilities (which, given the year we have had, I can't say is a bad thing) This book took the series to the next level. Audrey Grey's skill for story building is masterful. As the plot unfolds, she teases the reader with breadcrumb answers, leaving just enough to appease, but not satisfy, leaving them hungry for more.
I loved the layers of complexity in the story between Haven and Stolas. I truly appreciate how both characters were further developed in this book.
Regarding Stolas, (Because who doesn't want to spend all the time talking about him?!) I was a little hesitant beginning this book, as in the past I have seen the dark / twisty male love interests become more tame as the romance develops. I feared that would be the same for this story. However, it was SUCH a relief to discover that the character I fell in love with remained true to who he was (and I got to see more of his dark and twisty side) throughout the book. I truly appreciate that the integrity of the character was kept.
That being said, I loved it. LOVED this book and love this author.
Thank you Audrey Grey for me with an ARC of this book! I am already DYING for #5...2021 seems just way too far away.
I JUST NEED MORE! I am honestly going to die because the next book doesn't come out until August 31st and I just want to cry. This was amazing and I just need more. Now, I make an oath of my own... I vow to NOT BE TRULY HAPPY AGAIN UNTIL THE NEXT BOOK COMES OUT! - There, I said it. Now I will just wait in my corner of sadness until August.
Storyline: Is getting better and better. The series started out a little slow but book 3 and 4 are close to perfection. Picking up from book 3 Haven is starting to build her army to face her father. Problem is people are refusing to follow a mortal. She is goddess born however she was not gifted immortality. Now Haven searches out the missing clues her mother Freya left her in order to achieve immortality and to gain her army.
FMC: Still kicking ass and taking names. Have is an incredible FMC. Her loyalty and love for her friends is enchanting to read. Finally some big steps are made in the romance department and I could not be happier. That is until Grey reveals the big shocker in the end....now my head is throbbing and I feel a smidge nauseous.
MC: Stolas is everything you would want in an MC. This book granted him a place on my dream alphas shelf and let me tell you it is not an honor given out often. He stole the show for me in this novel!
You will have to be patient to read this series but it is completely worth it!
This series is slowly becoming one of my favourites, book by book I keep falling in love with the characters and the world that the author has created, one of my favourite things from the series.
Light Singer was a great continuation with plenty of action and mysteries, the plot just getting better and better, which kept me turning pages and there was not a single second of boredom. Haven and Stolas were my favourite part of the book. There is a lot of focus on them and I loved how their relationship grew, so many great scenes and that push-and-pull that I love in romance books. I wish we had seen more of some of the secondary characters though, they were there but it felt that they didn’t have as much voice as in other books, especially Bell, Archeron and Surai.
There is only one wrong that keeps bugging me that I hope it gets fixed in the next book. After that ending, I can’t wait to know what happens next!
Light Singer is the fourth installment of the Kingdom of Runes series. After devouring the shit out of this book, I'm not sure I'm even prepared for the next one that comes out this month. I'm, of course, freaking the freak out right now because I need the next book NOW! Especially after that little cliffhanger.
Honestly, so much happened throughout this book. I loved seeing Stolas be a little bad ass at times but man - he needs to stop talking when he's fighting people. Just kick their ass man! I also really enjoyed him and Haven getting closer to one another. I was no prepared for what happened towards the end of this book though. I'm still not okay after finishing it either.
Since I have no idea what's coming my way, or the character's way either, I'm just going to twiddle my thumbs and have the worst thoughts roam around my brain until I get my hands on the next book. I hope it's amazing - just like the rest of the series. I also really want more from Bell and Surai. Not Archeron because I still hate the guy.
In the end, I'm impatiently waiting for the next book. Please hurry!
This was ducking amazing! I read the series so fast! And the last book is yet to come out!!! I NEED IT!!!
Damn, I’m so happy I picked these up! By each book Audrey Grey made me love the characters more and more! Her writing improved! The series went from YA to NA and I’m all here for it!
I didn’t know that I needed to read this book until I started reading it. This was absolutely amazing! The writing, the storyline, everything! Half the time, I didn’t know what to expect. I thought it was strange how Stolas was acting throughout the book, but then it became clear at the end why he was acting the way he did. I highly recommend this series if you haven’t read it yet!
This is one of my favourite series and I was super excited to get this ARC 🤗🤩 Holy baby Jesus, Audrey weaved her magic and produced another PERFECTION! I love Haven, she is amazingly brave, courageous, compassionate and badass. She continued to grow and develop in this book, learning more about her powers and her family background. What I can say about Stolas, apart from the fact that everyone needs Stolas in their lives! 🥰 He is dominant, protective alpha hotness 🔥 with horns 👿 and the chemistry between Haven and Stolas gave me goosies all over my body! 💙 I have to warn you that although this book does not end with a cliff-hanger, it does however end with a heart stoping, gut wreching, palm sweating and mind-blowing 🤯 revelation that is a total game changer! 😱 🥶 If you have not read this series, you really need to start reading it like right now 🤗 It has everything – action, twists and turns, devious Gods and Goddesses, light and dark magic, political games, epic battles, enemies to lovers slow burn romance and steamy ♨️ scenes that will leave you needing a cold shower 🚿. Well done Audrey! 🥰 🙏You are amazing 💙 😘
3,5 stars. First of all, I love Kingdom of runes series, it has excellent world building and interesting and well developed characters and i really like Haven, but the things that bothered me in this book made me put 3,5 stars and not 4. The things that bothered me were: *the way Stolas tried to make Haven hate or dislike him, I didn't really like his violent behavior toward her. *Haven after all she has been through still she felt a little childish and she shouldn't have forgiven Stolas without an apology or something. *Stolas didn't tell Haven anything about their possible mate bond or the prophecy between them. Lastly, I wanted more development in their relationship. I wanted more secrets from their past revealed between them, more soul baring. I didn't like that they still don't know many things about each other. Also, the love scene was a little meh..
(There isn't a chance to put 5 stars because the story really reminds me another book with small changes in the " fantasy world" along with the characters. The stracture of the story is the same but this is my personal opinion and the way I feel.)

*4.5* This series is so underrated and so entertaining. I love Stolas and Haven so much as well as Surai and Bell and Nasira. This world is so unique and wonderfully created and I cannot wait to see how this series will wrap up in the last book (although after the prologue I am worried). This book was so fast paced and hard to put down following that characters trying to make alliances for the final battle. The romance was also a larger plot in this book and I really enjoyed it. I have enjoyed this series so much and these books always surprise me for how much I enjoy them.
Spoilers for me to remember: -Haven and Stolas are mates -Nasira made a deal with the Godkiller weapon -Stolas' fate is that Haven will kill him -Haven is trying to turn immortal through the paintings her mother made -Archeron is still after Haven -Bell is trying to find alliances elsewhere

Haven and Stolas along with all our favorite friends and family return in this wild adventure that makes your heart beat faster and holds you tight until the last sentence. There is sorrow and pain along with hope and love, passion and danger as they journey toward finding peace and protecting the world against the shadeling. We join Haven along with all her friends and family, including Bell, the king of nine, now called kinslayer and all those who swore allegiance to the Goddess born in Shadoria, original home of the seraphians and Stolas and Nasira family castle, all trying to rebuild a home and protect against the attacks by the Solisian sun sovereign. Archeron, true to his word is trying to destroy everything and everyone Haven cares about in order to force her to return to him and submit to being his weapon. But Haven knows there are greater dangers coming and she must create alliances in order to protect the world from her father the shadeling who is trying to escape the underworld and destroy all her world. Haven struggles with her newfound status as the Goddess born, long prophesied to come and all the trust she's feeling burdened under. She feels unworthy and it takes lots of work and training with Stolas to gain comfort in her new role. In the midst of all these challenges, she fights against her feelings for Stolas, believing he is only around out of duty, while she is falling in love with him. Stolas continues to warn her away from him telling her that he is a monster. But the heart wants what the heart wants and some attractions are too powerful to be denied... Even if you know your future ending is brought about by the one you love. I love the emotional journey we take as we go along with Haven and Stolas and watch her grow into the person/goddess she is meant to be. I enjoyed the alternating perspective so we can feel both Haven and Stolas emotions and thoughts on the situations they face, together and apart. We are taken on a journey to other lands and even into the demon world. You can place yourself with the characters due to the rich description and vivid pictures painted in words. It's as if you can almost taste the food or feel the rush of the wind off the ocean or smell the smoke and feel the sweat and blood dripping after the battles. Each book in this series has just gotten better and more intense in battles with the enemy and in the hearts of the characters. This story is so amazing and I'm so grateful I got the chance to read this book. If you haven't tried this series yet, what are you waiting for? Get started!
I love this series sooo much. This book was so good, I don’t know why I put off reading it for as long as I did.
I’m so invested in these characters.
I want Stolas be my man. The relationship between Haven and Stolas is so beautiful to watch. They accept each other for who they are and don’t try to change one another. The sexual tension was intense! But what I LOVED was that it wasn’t about the “sex” but about a deeper connection. I was waiting for them to come together and connect on the deeper level and I was not disappointed! The ending was so sad when you realize what Stolas is giving I to be with her.
Acheron is just becoming more complex. I love how the author keeps you in suspense with how he will turn out. I’m still not convinced he’s completely evil. Is he in love? Or just obsessed? Does he still have good in him? In the end, will he choose the right path? I can’t wait to find out.
I’m very excited for the next book. It sounds as if the “big bad” is going to come from the inside and a betrayal will take place. It’ll be interesting and heartbreaking to see how it all plays out.
This author's imagination is exceptional. This series is phenomal, richly layered with no moment gone to waste. It is a hell of a story. The plot goes so very deep and the characters, all of them, are everything you hope for. This book advances the overall story, adds new depth and just overall kills it, so very good. I found the Demonlands very interesting, scary, but interesting. I also love the trip to the human kingdom in trying to find allies. There's still lots going on and it will be agony waiting for the next book, which I believe is the last, and that breaks my heart. I think I could continue to read in this world for a long time. As always Haven and Stolas are magnificent, Beastie has come so far, I hope we get a happy ending. I'm curious to see where Acheron is going to wind up, dude has become so damn evil, and he's just waiting and biding his time to create more havoc. Stolas sister has made a deal with the devil, it will end badly I'm afraid. There's not enough stars in the world for this series!!!
This is it. Audrey Grey's writing has seen so much improvement over this series and this book was a perfect YA/New Adult fantasy read. Spicy, adventure, plot. Nothing was sacrificed. Haven also was more likable and less Mary sue than in the first couple installments. And Stolas 🥺❤️✨💫🖤🦷🍆🔪. For fans of Holly Black, Sarah J Maas, Victoria Aveyard. This is your next series and it's well deserved.
Cons: very tropey, clear influence of other series ( who isn't guilty of this though tbh) and the first two books are a little immature in writing style. Also problematic behavior but again... It's a New Adult/Ya so... What do you expect?
“Are you sure she’s worth all of this?” The wind nearly swallowed Nasira’s soft voice. Without hesitation, he replied, “Yes.”
I am crying, don’t touch me.
I did that thing I do when I get a lot of books and start a series randomly without checking if all the books are out. I realized my mistake 1/4 into this book. The last book comes out in August. When I tell you I was devastated? Smh. Very regret. I tried to slow down reading this one because I new I would be pain waiting for the next one.
Like the other books in this series, this one did not disappoint. I can’t talk about the relationship. I get too emotional. The way he cares for her?? No one could ever. The shadow familiars?? 🥺 I was so kilig when that was revealed. Their relationship grew so much but there was still so much delicious angst, it was glorious. They are so sweet and savage when it comes to each other, it’s ugh it’s goooood stuff.
Audrey is dirty for that cliff hanger though. NARISA. I’m still mad. She better nottttt do what I’m thinking she’s doing. But Audrey is even more dirty for giving us happiness, the fruition of 3 books of angst and slow burn, then dropping us on cold water with that future prophecy, goodness. There is no way I’m gonna let that prophecy come true. Nope. I have faith Audrey will do the right thing. 👀 right? Right??
Pls send arc pls thank u Audrey ur nice and so talent
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
This book,no, this whole series is SO good! I love Haven & Stolas. I love that Haven can be vulnerable and still be so strong. I can’t believe the cliff hanger this book left us on though! I will eagerly be awaiting the last book in this amazing series!
Am I the only one who found this book to be utterly frustrating? Haven and Stolas’s relationship through out most of this book was so childish and immature. Havens inner dialogue made her seam weak and unable to handle/process any emotion. We knew they were mated from when the curse broke and the correction was made that they needed mates to break the course. It’s also frustrating that Haven is so dense she doesn’t even understand they are mated. Or what is happening and why her shadow familiar took on that of Stolas’s. Most of this book so fluff and boring. Since I was already frustrated I skimmed most of the book. Though let’s point out that Haven has god blood. That was a cool scenario. The epilogue was interesting and the fall out will be what happens in the next book. Though once again, Nes is just being SO moronic. Like how does she really think this is going to turn out? If she kills Haven or gives her to Odin Stolas and her relationship will be over. Their was so much wrong with this book but with that said I will read the fifth.
