Rate this book
An innkeeper who reads minds. An ornery detective. And a trail of bodies. Cider Cove is the premiere destination for murder.

***Includes RECIPE*** MURDER IN THE MIX Series crossover! Lottie, Everett, Noah, Carlotta, Pancake, Waffles and a surprise guest descend on Cider Cove! A MUST READ!
My name is Bizzy Baker, and I can read minds—not every mind, not every time but most of the time and believe me when I say it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

A bake off for senior citizens is being held at the inn and baker Lottie Lemon has arrived as one of the judges. But when someone turns up dead, accompanied by a mysterious riddle, both Lottie and I are determined to find the killer. But as the riddles grow more sinister, and other threats begin to manifest, it’s clear someone has a bone to pick with both Lottie and me. Our very lives are in danger, proving that this case might just be too big for the both of us.

Bizzy Baker runs the Country Cottage Inn, has the ability to pry into the darkest recesses of both the human and animal mind, and has just stumbled upon a body. With the help of her kitten, Fish, a mutt named Sherlock Bones and an ornery yet dangerously good looking homicide detective, Bizzy is determined to find the killer.

The Country Cottage Inn is known for its hospitality. Leaving can be murder.

A laugh out loud cozy mystery by New York Times Bestseller Addison Moore and her partner in cozy crime, USA TODAY Bestseller Bellamy Bloom.

Cider Cove, Maine is the premiere destination for fun and relaxation. But when a body turns up, it’s the premiere destination for murder.

Innkeeper Elizabeth "Bizzy" Baker is in charge of a baking contest at her Country Cottage Inn, until a murder derails the Inn's plans. The murder is fairly predictable, but still interesting, and the wacky factor is strong with the book including a pirate fight, mud wrestling, and the ghost of a potbellied pig. Lottie Lemon, from Moore's other mystery series appears in a fun crossover. It's a fun novel.

I thought the first five books in the series were charming and enjoyable reads (albeit a little wacky) and was awaiting the next release - wow, was I ever disappointed in this one! This book is a hot mess - absolutely chaotic. There were too many characters to keep track of (some sort of crossover??), one of which had a husband and a boyfriend (huh??). Then there's the over-sexed sister (enough already). And that special rare ability of Bizzy's? Well, it seems as if everyone has that same ability in this story - so much for uniqueness. I think there was a mystery in the book somewhere, but it's hard to find with all that's going on. Will try the next one in hopes this was a one-off - if not, then it's over with this series for me.

Bizzy Baker teams up with Lottie Lemon from the “Murder in the Mix” series of books to solve a murder. These ladies find they have lots in common and become fast friends. This is an excellent book and I hope the authors team these two ladies up again soon.

Just when I thought Addison Moore and Bellamy Bloom couldn’t top the last few books, they managed to bring their A game and knocked the ball out of the park with this book….. I have to say that this is my favourite book yet, plus what makes it even better is that Lottie and the whole gang are back and the crossover is amazing. Whilst there’s not as much drama from Jasper’s ex Camila, there’s a whole lot more drama when wives are revealed….. I honestly can’t find the words to describe how amazing this book is. Plus now Bizzy knows that her are and Leo aren’t the only ones who have special powers (e.g. reading minds) it makes it just that more special when they all meet Lottie. I fell in love with the story, the characters and all the chaos that took place within the book, I know that Lottie has a special place in Addison’s heart, so the fact that it crosses over is just perfect as I had been missing Lottie. Plus having Georgie and Carlotta in the same space was entertaining and freaky because honestly, you never know what’s going to happen when these two characters are involved, so the fact that they was together makes it even more special. I’m super excited to see how things play out, and it will be interesting see how Bizzy copes when she goes travelling over to Honey Hollows. I seriously recommend giving this book a try, both Addison and Bellamy are extremely talented and know exactly how to keep you wanting more. It’s official that I’m hooked on this series for good.

Bizzy is hosting a seniors bake off at the Inn thanks to Mack (the mayor/ ex-bestfriend) and it seems to be going quite well, especially the turnout of it all. There’s so many new visitors here and the Inn and when she comes across Lottie Lemon (one of the judges for the bake off), she can’t help but love the girl… She knows without a doubt that they will become good friends and plus, Lottie has a secret of her own… the fact she can talk and see ghosts. Just as Bizzy decides that now would be the perfect time to let Lottie in on the fact she can read minds and she knows that Lottie can see ghosts, one of the sponsors ends up falling to their death and what would you know…. They have one of Lottie’s baked treats in their hands…. Lottie knows that no good can come of this, and when the killer this time take things up a notch, with both Lottie and Bizzy be in trouble?

I really enjoyed this book. It has all the charm of what you want for a Cozy Mystery. Bizzy and her friends are congenial and the mysteries keep you hopping from one suspect to another. But what really sold me was the humor. I can't tell you how many times I laughed so hardily while reading. I'm sure my neighbors could hear me laughing like a loon because I laughed so loud.

This is my second time reading a book from the Country Cottage Mysteries series and I do believe this will not be my last. Addison Moore knows how to deliver a story that I personally can enjoy without feeling like it is work but just easy fun.

Bonus, you get a free recipe to try out for yourself in the book. I like that.

When revenge is served

A good read but just a bit too caught up in the mundane. Yes the plot was good, the death of a businessman and then his wife with enough suspects to suit everyone. Riddles and ghost add to the mix as do having characters from another series coming to stay. But frankly me it just got a bit too busy and too involved in the love life of the different characters to really flow.
Maybe lessening the people would have been a good idea as would the pair of sleuths having a more concrete path to the solution.
Sorry but this was not one of my favourites in the series.

A seniors' baking contest is being held at the inn and Bizzy invites a bakery owner from Vermont to attend as a judge. It turns out that Lottie and Bizzy have a lot in common. Lottie is also transmundane and sees dead people, although she cannot read minds (telesensual). Even Lottie's mother and the outrageous Georgie are kindred spirits. The similarities don't end there. While Lottie has both a handsome husband, she also has an equally handsome boyfriend, who, like Jasper, is a homicide detective. But that is not all: Fish falls for their two beautiful Himalayan? cats (making Sherlock feel a little lonesome).

Will Bizzy see dead people in the future?

A little confused though

Liked the cross over but I am not caught up on Lottie's series so spoilers.

A baking completion brings Lottie and crew to Bizzy's neck of the woods. Asked to judge, her first day at the Inn and she sees a ghost. Bizzy is not sure what to make of her thoughts until she realizes that Lottie is gifted, like her and Leo. When another judge is murdered, the two amateur sleuths pair up and decide to work together to solve the crime. The men in their lives are not happy about it, but also know they can either help or step out of the way.

A few hiccups along the way but the ladies deliver at the end and become fast friends for life.

Being a crazy cat lady, I read all things cat related. It’s no surprise that this is a series that I absolutely love. I have read each one and this was just as good. You can’t go wrong with a mystery book that includes cats. It’s a very quick read and I couldn’t put it down. This is another delightful and charming mystery mixed in with a little bit of comedy and romance. If you are a cat lady like me do yourself a favor and give this a read. I think you will become as addicted to them as I am.

Such a fun, hilarious mystery!

This series is so much fun! I laughed all the way through it! So many hilarious scenes. I absolutely enjoyed this book. The characters were fantastic and I loved the feline characters so much. I'm going to start reading the Lottie Lemon series now. I can't wait to see what happens when Bizzy goes to visit Lottie. That should be a lot of fun. This is a fantastic series and I'm sure the Lottie Lemon series will be just as fascinating and hilarious!

Humor makes this series great!

Buzzy is someone I would love to have as a friend, and so is Lottie. The two made this the most enjoyable read. Georgie and Carlotta were frosting on the cake. Jasper, Noah and Everett seem to take their women's antics in stride. Love both of these series.

Another fantastic read

So fun for Bizzy to find a new friend at the Senior Bake Off. Better yet Lottie has psychic abilities also. Georgia has also found a friend through Lottie and those two seniors - lets just say one is crazier than the other. Murder or no murder this was a fun read. Great job. Thank you.

Good Murder Mystery

This is a good cozy mystery. Bizzy teams up with a person who can see ghosts.
It appeared that she is not the culprit but she is.
This is the sixth book in the series.
I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

This series remains one of my favorites cozy mysteries. It is entertaining and well written, and the characters are so likeable. This story was a bit different as they had out-of-town people come in with talents of their own. I loved the last sentence of the book, "I don't see a single thing that could go wrong." Recommend reading.

This series is absolutely hilarious! And even better, this story was a crossover with another by the same author, so now I have another series to read!

Fish now has two boyfriends, and Sherlock isn't too happy about it.

Carlotta and Georgie act like twins separated by birth, and cause lots of shenanigans. You just have to read these books!

My Favorite

I have read this series in order, and this is by far my favorite. Somehow I figured out who the murderer was fairly quickly, but i had no idea why or how it could be proven. Definitely my favorite so far. Keep them coming! Your readers are insatiable and greedy

Twisty plot that satisfies

One can read minds of people and animals; the other can see dead folks and animals - two women with extremely interesting lives and hunky significant others. Recommended

There are lots of people who can read lots of minds, aren’t there??? Too bad they can’t always attach the thoughts with the thinker!!! Killing them off IS one way to get them off the suspect list, isn’t it??? I enjoyed the story and recommend the book

Guest Transmundane

A baker from Vermont (crossover from another series) visits to judge a Senior Bake-Off. Interesting characters, including two boyfriends for Fish, and accompanying riddles.

A wonderful addition to the series.

This book is a crossover with characters from another series visiting. All the characters are wonderful and quirky. The plot is convoluted and interesting. The world building is great. I can't wait to read the next book.

for some reason this installment didn’t quite mesh

I enjoyed the first Bizzy/Lottie story I read, but for some reason I can’t elucidate, this intro fell flat. Not sure why.
