An innkeeper who reads minds. An ornery detective. And a trail of bodies. Cider Cove is the premiere destination for murder. ***Includes RECIPE***
My name is Bizzy Baker, and I can read minds—not every mind, not every time but most of the time and believe me when I say it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

The local bookshop in Cider Cove is hosting a murder mystery party and everyone in attendance is having a killer good time—right up until a body turns up. It doesn’t help that I just announced that I was the perpetrator. It doesn’t help that the entire town thinks I just might be the killer. I have to clear my good name—and most importantly, I need to track down the real killer before another homicide takes place, namely mine.

Bizzy Baker runs the Country Cottage Inn, has the ability to pry into the darkest recesses of both the human and animal mind, and has just stumbled upon a body. With the help of her kitten, Fish, a mutt named Sherlock Bones and an ornery yet dangerously good looking homicide detective, Bizzy is determined to find the killer.

The Country Cottage Inn is known for its hospitality. Leaving can be murder.

A laugh out loud cozy mystery by New York Times Bestseller Addison Moore and her partner in cozy crime, USA TODAY Bestseller Bellamy Bloom.

Cider Cove, Maine is the premiere destination for fun and relaxation. But when a body turns up, it’s the premiere destination for murder.

Biz y has got to be the dumbest sleuth. How many times is she going to go into an alley, park, beach, building alone to confront a killer instead of PICKING UP TGE PHONE, or taking someone with her???

Bizzy Baker and the gang attend a Murder Mystery Play at the local bookstore, only to have someone murdered during the event. There is so much going on it is hard to guess who the murderer is. I enjoyed the interactions between everyone, including, especially, the pets. I can’t wait to read the next book!

I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited.

For once, the murder doesn't take place at the Country Cottage Inn, which is good. A Murder Mystery Party would be the perfect date for Bizzy and Jasper, though her ending up covered in blood and "confessing" to a real murder (because she thought it was part of the show) was unfortunate. Otherwise, the gang's all here, and the mystery gets solved while Bizzy and Jasper plan their wedding. It's a nice, fun, book.

Amazing Cozy Mystery

This is an awesome cozy mystery.
Bizzy adds suspected murder to her resume. She didn't commit the crime but she is the only suspect.
This is book seven in the series.
I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

A murder mystery party gone wrong.

Book Description: “The local bookshop in Cider Cove is hosting a murder mystery party and everyone in attendance is having a killer good time—right up until a body turns up. It doesn’t help that I just announced that I was the perpetrator. It doesn’t help that the entire town thinks I just might be the killer. I have to clear my good name, and most importantly, I need to track down the real killer before another homicide takes place, namely mine.”

Chosen to play the killer by luck of the draw, Bizzy really gets into role at a murder mystery party. The lights come on and Bizzy triumphantly announces to the guests that she is the killer. Whoops! While the lights were out, a wily killer turned the
make-believe murder scene into an actual murder scene and she is holding the bloody murder weapon. Even worse, not everyone believes that her proclamation to be the murderer was make-believe. Placed right in the middle of Jasper’s homicide investigation, Bizzy feels driven to prove her innocence once again.

This is the seventh book in the series that I am binge reading this week. I have come to expect there is no limit to the zany antics of the colorful residents of the fictional cozy seaside town of Cider Cove, Maine. I enjoy how the authors expertly weave these characters together into a mostly believable, yet totally intriguing and entertaining story. I do not like to give any spoilers away in a review, So, I thought I would just make note of a few words to describe the characters and their motivations. I quickly realized there were so many words on the list that were also antonyms. So, that is the way I have presented the list in this review… as opposites in varying degrees. Caring to indifferent. Loyal to treacherous. Love to hate. Peaceful to wrathful. Generous to envious. Chaste to promiscuous. Lawful to criminal. Innocent to guilty. I’ll stop here or the list will become a page long.

Gatsby, an irresistible blond golden retriever, is the newest animal character welcomed into Bizzy’s circle of friends as Leo’s new canine companion. Aww, Gatsby may be just the ticket to help mellow out Leo.

This story is an entertaining, clean, fun, and easy read. Much of the story is very weird… but in a good way. If you enjoy reading stories created by extremely imaginative authors, then you must read this book.

Addison Moore and Bellamy Bloom have seriously created a world that I can’t help but love going back to and just diving right in. Yet again, they have done another amazing book in their Country Cottage Mysteries Series and I fell in love with it. Things a lot more intriguing in this book because yet again Bizzy ends up in the middle of all the commotion when a simple 1 year anniversary murder mystery party turns into a realistic one…. I think how Bellamy and Addison pulled this one together was just great, it’s got drama, it’s got heat, passion, you name it. I honestly think they are such a perfect pair when it comes to co-writing as their writing complements the other. I honestly love Bizzy, she is just an interesting character, plus Jasper is just incredible….. I mean if I could have a guy like him in real life then I would be pretty much set. I honestly couldn’t fault anything in this book, if anything both of these authors just make me fall in love with their work more and more after every story they produce. I honestly can’t wait to see what happens next, I know that they will both give us amazing things with this series.

Bizzy is loving life, everything pretty much perfect and she is engaged to the most hottest guy she has ever laid eyes on. Everyone in their town Cider Cove are all at the bookstore on the high street all celebrating the one year anniversary of the store and what better way to celebrate it, than having a murder mysteries party. Everything seems to be going to plan, and with Bizzy deciding to act in the little scene that the store is putting on, the one role she gets is the killer…. Now that’s ironic for her considering she’s been finding all of the bodies that have been dropping in the last few months over Cider Cove and the last thing she wants to be known as is the towns Serial Killer…. However, what is meant to be a normal act, turns into something deadlier… With the host of the book store playing the murder victim things take an interesting turn when it’s discovered he’s not acting, but he is actually dead…. Another killer has struck down in Cider Cove and at the minute it’s pointing to Bizzy being the killer…. Will Bizzy be able to clear her name and what will happen once secrets are revealed about the bookstore???

This is a new approach to the usual cozy mystery stories I read. The humor is definitely there, but our intrepid detective and her “assistants” are a little different.

Bizzy Baker is the innkeeper who runs the Country Cottage Inn. Her talent is her ability to most of the time be able to read human and animal minds, both a blessing and a curse apparently when she “hears” her mother admiring a handsome man and wondering how she can slip her number to him! Ewwww!

As the Cider Cove murder mystery party’s play is nearing its final scene, the murder victim dramatically staggers in and then collapses. The lights go out – was that supposed to happen? Bizzy grabs the butcher knife which feels sticky and feels her way back to the victim to get in position. The lights come on again. Bizzy stands over the dead body (played by Wyatt Sanders), and she announces loudly that she is the perpetrator of the murder, complete with brandishing the bloody weapon, just as she realizes the “dead” body’s condition is now permanent and that puddle of blood is REAL! Naturally the town, just applauding her performance, is willing to now accept that statement as her confession!

So with the help of her kitten (Fish), her dog (Sherlock Bones), and a cute homicide detective (her fiancé, homicide detective Jasper Wilder), Bizzy is now highly motivated to find the real killer. Will they be successful? Or will the killer strike again?

This is a very enjoyable mystery, primarily because I love humor and these characters make it happen so well! They were quirky, likable, very unusual, and yet the kind of friends (and pets) the reader would love to have. The story line was clever and it was fun tagging along to see how Bizzy and her friends handle the case. Grab your copy and laugh along!

This book is #7 in a set and it is very apparent that the characters are established in their relationships and community. As this was my first leap into the series I sometimes felt like I was looking in, rather than a part of it. I would recommend reading this series from the beginning but you can still follow along (as I did) if you haven’t.

We have our small town busybody Bizzy who is the manager of an Inn. She also boards pets and seems to take her own everywhere she goes. She has psychic abilities and can not only peek into the minds of people but also animals. At times she seems to have conversations entirely without speaking and other times she speaks out loud to them. Her friend Leo also has the same ability but despite being a deputy he doesn’t seem to use it much.

Bizzy is at a murder mystery for a book store’s anniversary and decides to participate as an actress. She of course gets the part of the killer. When the victim is actually killed she’s never really considered a suspect even though she’s holding the murder weapon. The murder scene was a bit strange to me. Nobody reacted in a very typical manner. People were busy cracking jokes rather than seeming to be bothered there was a dead body. Even the victims girlfriend didn’t resort to hysterics and everyone was pretty much back to work as normal the next day.

I did enjoy the actual story, I liked seeing how a Izzy pieced things together as she went and actually solved more than one case along the way. I may have to go back and start at the beginning so I don’t feel like an outsider.

Bizzy, local innkeeper can read minds, human and animal, most of the time. Most of the town is invited to the local bookstore to either take part in a Murder Mystery Play or be in the audience. Bizzy, draws the part of the murderer from the hat. The play is going along great until the end when everyone realizes Wyatt, the play victim is actually dead. Bizzy is blamed for the murder as she is holding the murder weapon and has already confessed, all scenes from the play, but actually make her look guilty since the weapon has Wyatt's blood on it. Bizzy, Jasper, (her fiance and detective), and a few animals set out to find the real killer before Bizzy ends up in the slammer. Cute story, this is the first I have read in this series and I had no trouble following along. Would I read more from this series? Most definitely.

A Killer Tail is the fifth book in the Country Cottage mystery series. Even that this is part of a series it can be read as a standalone without many issues, but it is better when read in order to get the most out of it. This series is about Bizzy, a fun quirky Inn manager that loves her quaint little home town Cider Cove. When is not your normal run of the mill manager when Bizzy was younger and almost drown she gained the ability to read minds. This has been a blessing and a curse.
Next door to Macys little shop the Book sore is celebrating it’s one year anniversary with a murder mystery night. But things dont go as planned including the host being murdered for real and Bizzy caught holding the bloody murder weapon. Not only does Bizzy have a knack for solving murders, now she has motive to solve this murder quickly.

The killer drama gets more dramatic then anticipated

Wonderful read. A murder mystery at the local bookshop turns into a real murder when the owner is stabbed. But far worse is the fact that she (as the killer) finds the knife and loudly makes that announcement.
Now as a suspect she has to investigate. That when several more crimes come our of the woodwork including theft, robbery and a cold case missing person. Then there is her brother who has taken up with the Mayor (her nemesis), the growing relationship between Leo and her bestie and a new member of her animal family. Will her talent for reading minds help her to clear everything up? Will they find a new owner for their newly acquired canine friend? Can she cohesion to terms with the relationships of her brother and Leo? Will her own hunk accept that his new fiancee will continue to investigate crimes?

Too stupid to live?

I lost count how many times I wanted go throw this book against the wall. With 'friends' like Georgie and her criminal daughter Juni, plus her sister Maci, who needs enemies? They all want Bizzy to be arrested and charged with murder.

If Bizzy wants to stay out of jail---by the way, why is Jasper in charge of the Investigation? He has a conflict of interest---she should give Georgie a week to vacate her cottage, taking her criminal daughter with her. Then, permantly ban both from the Inn.

Buzzy is too stupid to live. She figures out who the murder is and goes to confront the killer. Does she take Jasper? Nooo. That'd be the smart thing to do. No, she just takes Gatsby, the dog.

When the killer decides to eliminate Bizzy, what does Bizzy do? She stands there like an idiot and let's the killer whack her in the head. As I said, too stupid go live.

Bizzy Baker runs the Country Cottage Inn. Bizzy has the ability to be able to hear what animals and people are thinking. Using this amazing paranormal gift, she's been able to solve several murders in Cider Cove, Maine. While attending a Murder Mystery party at a creepy local bookstore, the unthinkable happens. Bizzy along with friends, Georgia and Juni, and sister Macy do some sleuthing. Jasper, her fiance, wants her to leave the case to him as he's a detective from Seaview. He doesn't want her to put herself in danger's way. Bizzy wants to do what he says but can&'t as she's determined to find the killer. I think you'll enjoy this book and love this series!

Ms. Moore and Ms. Bloom have once again created a story full of mystery and excitement. I have loved Mrs. Moore's books since the first time I read the first 3AM kisses book. She creates books with relatable character and enough romance to keep it interesting. I fell in love with her books again when she created her Murder in the Mix series. Now she has created another phenomenal series, complete with interesting characters, suspense, mystery and a bit of romance, with Ms. Bloom. The two together have created something out-of-this-world fantastic. Bizzy and her animal pals are brilliant and I love reading about their adventures, or misadventures depending on how you look at it. Well done to these two for creating another brilliant story. I can't wait to see what they bring us next.

Bizzy was hosting a murder mystery at a local book store and when she says she was the murder and all of a sudden they realize that there is a murder for real. So now she is trying to solve another murder before she is murdered herself. You just never know what is going to happen. Bizzy can read minds so it takes her a little while to find out who the murder is. There are lots of twists and turns that she has to take before she can find out who has done the dastardly deed. In the end, Bizzy and all of her friends help her solve this murder and restore peace to Cider Cove once again.

If you are wondering if you want to read this book, just know that you do. It was a fun and page-turning read.

Bizzy and friends attend a murder mystery in celebration of a bookstore's first anniversary. Of course, Bizzy draws the paper that says she will play the role of the killer. When the lights come on, she dramatically confesses that she was the murderer, shocked to realize that the victim was really dead.

Leo adopts the victim's sweet golden retriever, Gatsby.

This series is fun and I love that Bizzy can read the minds of both humans and animals, but it is annoying that she always confronts the killer when they are alone. Once the cavalry rides in to rescue her, she is given credit for finding the killer.

Even closer this time

A bookstore that hosts a murder mystery interactive event? Yep, I'd be there so no surprise that Bizzy and the entire gang is too. also not surprising is the real dead body at the end of story time. With Bizzy holding the murder weapon, she'll once again find herself temporarily on the suspect list. With the help of her friends, both human and furry, she'll don the the forbidden sleuthing cap in hopes of catching the real killer.

Typical Bizzy? She'll figure out who done it, but at the risk of her own life. One time too many. How many times can one person get bopped in the head before she either gains a new gift or loses one?

New to this series, it is easy to jump right in to this Country Cottage Mystery. Bizzy sure lives up to her name as she tries to clear her name after she announces to a roomful of people that she was the killer while holding the bloody murder weapon as part of a murder mystery party. With her powers to read others minds, she is privy to their thoughts enabling her to unravel who had motive, no shortage of them, and who committed what crimes. Who will get arrested at the end or better to say, who won't.

Bizzy is enthusiastic about her role during mystery night. After she announces she’s the killer, however, everyone realizes the victim is really dead, and she’s holding the murder weapon. Bizzy can read most human and animal minds, and she will need to take advantage of this ability if she hopes to get out of this predicament. I especially enjoyed the relationship between Bizzy and her animal friends, and how they worked together to solve the mystery.

Bizzy Baker just can’t help but find herself on a mission to solve another murder. Addison and Bellamy bring us another amazing installment that had me laughing literally out loud and struggling to adult. Not to mention characters that makes you wish you could be real life besties with them. I can’t wait to read what’s next!!!
Can be read as a stand alone but I highly suggest going back to book one, just so you can get the whole aesthetic of the series. Promise you it’s well worth it!

A bookstore with murder mystery themes has a killer game planned for its anniversary party- and it could get literal

Echoes from several folks pasts ring out - and some very sour notes are hit. A missing man, romantic and friendship betrayals and some darkly motivated people are in overabundance

Can a few law officers and some people with special skills solve the worst crimes - and survive?

Intense action and adventure

A murder mystery night turns out to be real. Only hitch the murder weapon turns up in the hands of the mind reading girlfriend to the sheriff. So how will this play out as someone tries to frame her. All while she can read minds and is dating the detective in charge who knows she's innocent. But always being the one who finds the bodies on their coastal retreat doesn't help.

A Killer Tail is the seventh book in the Country Cottage Mysteries series and the first I have read in this series.

I really enjoyed this cozy mystery and found the characters to be well defined, likable, and relatable. The storyline is well written and flows nicely throughout, with a mind-reading innkeeper, murder, mystery, and mayhem.

I would love to read more books in this series.

Bizzy Baker is at it again. Her home town bookstore is having a murder mystery party. Bizzy is playing the part of the murderer. The book store owner is the victim. Unfortunately when the lights come on the owner is really dead and Bizzy is left standing over the body holding the murder weapon.
Can Bizzy solve the crime before she does the time? With the help of her detective fiance Jasper and the help of her ability to read minds let's hope so.

I love a good cozy mystery, especially one with a 4-legged friend as one of the characters. There's something about a cozy mystery that's fun and entertaining to read yet still has the mystery and suspense of a good mystery. The story line is well written and captivating and the characters just add to the story line. Definitely recommend.

There is a killer in killer Books and it’s not part of the murder mystery party for the one year anniversary of the store being opened. Bizzy is literally left holding the knife! I loved all the extra crimes thrown in and all the suspects to work through. Plus hearing the animals thoughts are great! Loved the book.

So entertaining & full of humour & drama!

Totally enjoyed this book. Of course, my favorite characters are Fish, the kitty, and Sherlock Bones, the dog. Love the addition of Gatsby, a dog. All the characters were interesting and I really thought the story line was fascinating. I kinda figured out the suspect/suspects about midway through, but that was ok because I always enjoy reading how the leading lady and her fur babies figure it out! Fantastic series!

An enjoyable, easy but not predictable read. An intriguing murder mystery plot that does not reveal until the very end. First time reading this author and will be looking for her other books.
A little disappointed that all the characters that are described are 'beautiful'/attractive - or perhaps this is part of the fantastical in this fantasy/realism novel :)

This is a return to the Country Cottage Inn and Bizzy Baker, with her wild ability to be able to hear what animals and people are thinking. Another murder in Cider Cove has Bizzy on the case with her friends, even though Jasper wishes she would leave the sleuthing to the professionals. Fans of the Murder In the Mix series will love this series as well.
