Two years ago my enemies murdered my wife. They took away the mother of my newborn son. That’s how I became the beast… A merciless, heartless, soulless creature.
That’s why I made the deal with Ava: Take her to repay her father’s debt…
I couldn’t resist. Not when I saw she feared me as much as she wanted me. I wanted the beauty, a woman nearly half my age. I wanted to own her and possess her. Then I wanted more. More than her obedience and submission. I wanted her body, heart, mind and soul.
I never knew I was signing my death warrant when our paths collided. I never knew who she truly was: A Bratva princess who's supposed to be a ghost. Her dark secrets unearth old enemies who want her dead.
I’m Vincent Giordano, underboss to the Giordano family . I should know better than to start a war. I should know better than to let love into my cold heart. This isn’t a fairytale. When she kisses me I won’t turn into a prince. I’ll still be the beast. Yet, I can’t let them take her. I just don’t know what it will cost me this time.
Tempt Me is a DARK standalone, single dad, mafia billionaire romance in the Dark Odyssey series. If you love a filthy-mouthed, possessive Alpha you will love this. CAUTION: Be prepared for one wild, steamy ride. Read at your own risk.
This is mafia age-gap romance. It’s described as dark but I didn’t find the romance with this one dark at all. It’s all the other stuff related to Ava and Vincent’s pasts that actually brings the dark flavour with this. Vincent takes Ava for a debt her father owes him and though originally she was only meant to be payment he finds himself drawn to her against his better judgement. Ava despite her past also feels a connection with Vincent. Both the main characters here have things in their pasts that are now affecting there present. Vincent with the death of his wife and Ava with a buried identity she is still running and hiding from. Both trying so hard to bury their feelings especially Vincent who since his wife’s death the only thing that has mattered to him is his young son Timothy and his work. So this one was emotional and twisty an easy page-turner. I liked both Vincent and Ava but did get frustrated sometimes with Vincent and some of his behaviours. Especially as with him being much older than Ava I thought he should act more mature rather than taking his uncertain moods out on her. He was 44 and she was 26 (so 18 years). I felt for poor Ava every time Vincent let her in slightly only too completely stone-wall her later. Poor girl couldn’t do right for wrong. I’m also not a fan of the perfect dead wife trope but this was well enough written that it did to draw me in despite my aversions to the trope itself. I did have some slight niggles though. I’m not sure I was fully convinced regarding Vincent’s feelings. Ava yes, but Vincent just seemed a bit lacklustre especially how he had waxed lyrical over his first wife. Regarding his interactions with Ava well beside the sexual which was certainly hot It all just all seemed a bit bland in comparison. Almost like Ava was second best. He should have definitely done some major on his knees grovelling for his past actions and pledging his undying devotion that would have gone a great way to convincing me he was all in here. I also thought there should have been a lot less dead wife and more cutesy son Timothy. Despite the above, I still enjoyed this and though this is book 4 in a series it can easily be read as a standalone. It was very well written, engaging and seriously sexy and that’s on top of all the suspense and edge of your seat moments. So I couldn’t decide if this was a 3 or 4 star read for me I’ve gone with the 4 as even with my niggles it was well written and I enjoyed it a lot despite my nitpicks which were mostly personal. I will definitely check out the other books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Tempt Me.
Quick Summary After loosing his wife in a brutal hit by a rival family, Vincent has closed off his heart and become a cold merciless underboss for his mafia family.
But when he’s confronted with Ava’s complete devotion for her father, Vincent finds himself swayed for the first time in a long time to spare someone else’s life. In exchange for not killing her father, Vincent accepts Ava’s hasty proposition to take her instead, to do with whatever he wants.
Vincent knows the deal is ludicrous at best when his own father questions his weakness for this woman and completely dangerous when Ava’s own buried past comes back to claim her.
🖤 ~ My Thoughts ~ 🖤 The premise of this sounds very Beauty and the Beast for me and I enjoyed the contemporary twists the author gave us. This was not your typical B&tB retelling. The Beauty is a resilient heroine with her own dark memories to battle and the Beast is a mafia prince whose lost all hope. He isn’t looking to redeem himself and she isn’t looking to be saved.
Overall I was really entertained by the story and the characters. It was definitely outside my comfort zone but I’m glad I gave it shot. I was pleasantly surprised in the end.
Did I want a bit more page time with Vincent and his kid? Yes, I also think more page time with Ava and the little guy would have lent a bit more lightheartedness to the story. Did I want a little less page time of Vincent’s reminiscing about his dead wife? Yes. I don’t really like dead wife/husband plots in romance. It’s hard to root for the MCs to fall in love when one of them is still hung up on a ghost. It was especially hard to watch here because Ava falls for Vincent almost from page one, while Vincent stays stubborn and is a jerk for like 95% of the story. Did Vincent need to grovel and apologize for his earlier behavior? 100% yes. I love the guy but I also wanted Ava to finally be treated like the woman he claims to be in love with. I wanted some romance that didn’t center around their volatile love/hate bedroom antics.
I’m definitely intrigued by Vincent’s younger brothers, they seemed a bit less cynical than our Hero. Definitely recommending this one to anyone into Mafia romances and those that enjoy the action, violence and suspense mixed into their romance. This one is dark but not OTT.
Heat Level: 4/5
Trigger Warnings:
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wow really hot book with mafia twists and turns. Again two of my favorite gotta read ingredients. Vince bordered on being an ass that you could not like, but he true self would realize his mistakes, which was very good. Ava is tough as nails. Loved her. The two of them had so much chemistry it will light your kindle on fire!!!
Plagued by guilt over the death of his wife and daughter, Vincent had been living in an endless trance. When someone betrayed and screwed him, he went over the edge. Ava, unaware of her father’s deceits, begged for mercy and pawned herself to save him. Pulled by the intense attraction he felt, Vincent accepted Ava – body and soul - to repay Mark’s debts.
With this author, it's either a hit or miss. This time though, it was a miss. There was no chemistry between the couple. It was just pure lust. And I could not continue reading, there was no angst; nothing pulling the readers to keep on reading.
Oh, how I love this Dark Oddessy Series! A Sensuous journey of suspense and love! MUST-READ! TEMPT ME, is the fourth Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance in author Faith Summer’s incredible Dark Oddessy Series. Like the other novels in this series, TEMPT ME is full of wonderful writing, unforgettable characters, and a sensational plotline! it’s not surprising then to note, TEMPT ME almost melted my Kindle! I volunteered to read TEMPT ME because my mind was captivated by the compelling book blurb; however, I kept reading long into the night because I HAD to know what happened next! I really needed to see if love could win over a heart hardened by tragedy, and whether or not Ava could bring love into a household desperate for Ava’s special brand of loving! Sprinkled with just the right amount of angst, filled with hefty cups of romance, and stirred by the most memorable characters, TEMPT ME is a recipe for hours of first-rate entertainment. I jumped at the chance to voluntarily read a copy of TEMPT ME, so it’s probably not surprising that I feel compelled to honestly award this complex Mafia romance with a 5-STAR rating within my VOLUNTARY review. TEMPT ME is a standalone within a series about a Mafia family, and I can hardly wait to read the rest of the novels in this series so I get to see how all of the brothers find their true loves. TEMPT ME is a DARK and steamy Mafia romance that contains the violence and vulgarity typical of that romantic trope. So, only those 18 or older should apply. However, TEMPT ME is an exceptional read and I cannot emphasize this enough - get your copy of TEMPT ME today. Happy pages😉

Romance genre: mafia Series: Dark Odyssey Length: 384 pages
Plot: Vincent's wife was killed two years ago by his enemies and this has left him damaged. That's part of the reason he has no problem accepting Ava as payment for her father's debts. But she has secrets that will put everyone around them in danger. There comes a point where Vincent simply doesn't care though - he wants her regardless of the danger.
Commentary: Yea, dead wife! Kidding, it's the worst. I always wonder about the new h being second best - I mean, he was in love and would have been forever. Is he still? Can you love two people the same amount, with the same devotion, at the same time? Because that's what you've got going on here (maybe - I don't know about the same amount). It was sweet the way he fell for her, but I don't know if I was totally convinced. There were times when I thought that he just wanted that passionate companionship more than a love for all time. I could have stood a little more telling her how about his love for her so that it was absolutely clear. Maybe a little less talking about the wife.

This was a brilliant steamy hot dark romance! This is the first I’ve read from this author and WOW! The characters were amazing, the chemistry they have, the loyalty and love between the brothers! Learning why Ava went through broke my heart. I’m reading every single one of the books in this series after this review! I felt every emotion in the book, it gave me goosebumps, I cried, I had adrenaline during the dramatic scenes and I fell in love. I was gripped from the very beginning, these are my favourite types of book and this one blew me away! I couldn’t stop reading it, I never wanted to put it down. It was written so brilliantly that it was like you were there witnessing everything the characters were and feeling what they were feeling, I’d never felt more connected with another book and I’ve read and reviewed a LOT! It was such an amazing experience how much I was drawn in and how much emotion it made me feel, it was like the author just pulled the reader in to experience it, I’ll be recommending this book to everyone. I read this as an ARC.
4.25 stars-- TEMPT ME is the fourth instalment in Faith Summers (aka Khardine Gray) contemporary, adult DARK ODYSSEY erotic, mafia, dark romance series focusing on the Giordano family who own and operate the exclusive Dark Odyssey Sex Club, and the reigning family in the Chicago mob. This is the eldest son, new boss of the Chicago and the Italia Giordanos, and single father Vincent Giordano, and journalist Ava Knight’s story line. TEMPT ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Due to the graphic nature of the story line content, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Ava and Vincent) TEMPT ME follows several converging paths including two million dollars in missing money, and a potential partnership with the Russian Bratva. When her father was discovered to have stolen two million dollars from the Giordano family, Ava Giordano offers up herself as payment for her father’s sins but Ava’s naïvete found our heroine unaware that she would become the personal possession of Vincent Giordano, to do with as he pleases. From a sexual plaything to the woman with whom he would fall in love, Vincent will discover that there is much more to Ava than he could have ever imagined. As the Russian Bratva continues to seek a partnership with the Giordano family, a background search uncovers the truth, and the danger that awaits for everyone involved. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ava and Vincent, and the potential fall-out as Ava’s past comes seeking revenge, and Vincent believes himself unworthy of his own happily ever after.
Two years earlier Vincent’s wife Sorcha was killed in a war between competing mob families. Unable to forgive himself for the loss of his wife, Vincent’s grief is palpable and painful. Meeting Ava Knight give Vincent a second chance at happiness and love but threats to Ava’s safety force Vincent to push away the woman with whom he had fallen in love. The $ex scenes are passionate and erotic.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Vincent’s brothers: Nick (Tease Me #1), Gabe (Taunt Me #2), Salvatore (Thrill Me #3), parents Julian and Angela Giordano; their cousins Christian and Georgiou; Vincent’s son Timothy and her nursemaid Marguerite; Ava’s father Mark; as well as several members of the Russian Bratva.
TEMPT ME is a story of family, betrayal, relationships and love; power, control, vengeance and death. The premise is gritty and dark; the characters are animated, real, wounded and edgy; the romance is provocative and intense. TEMPT ME is a startling and intoxicating look at the one family’s struggle to remain on top.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "TEMPT ME" OMG!!!!! What a rollercoaster ride this story has you on from beginning to end its full of suspense, intrigue, action, danger, grief, loss, angst, mystery, erotic passion, twists you didn't see coming. Vincent Giordano becomes the new Mafia Boss taking over because his father wants to retire move back to Italy with his wife, this responsibility given him along with him still grieving the loss of wife Sorcha and being a single dad to 2yr old Timothy is alot. Goridano's have been in the eye of the Cops and FBI because of a traitor in their organization Mark stole 2 million among other things pointing them at the Giordano's they have a mess to clean up and also need to find him and take him out. Vincent gets a call from Tony saying they have Mark but a complication his daughter Ava was there also she's seen to much ge says he'll be right there take them to the pace where they deal with this kind of thing. Ava offers herself as payment for her father Mark if Vincent won't kill him she didn't realize what that truly mean't. The journey Ava and Vincent take you in this dark intense read is so delicious, crazy, exciting, thrilling all consuming their chemistry is explosive she manages to melt his cold damaged heart. What a wild ride so much happens in this book it definitely a page turner Ava has secrets that get exposed which could bring war to the Giordano's it's defintely a myst have book this series is excellent I love Faith Summers Dark Stories and her characters are great I look forward to next book "TAKE ME" CHRUSTUAN& LILY'S STORY!!!!!
This fourth book about the four Giordano brothers tells the story of Vincent, the eldest living brother, and focuses mainly on the four or five weeks that start with his father announcing his retirement and return to Sicily with his mother. This means Vincent will begin the transition to Boss immediately. He has just hunted down his rogue accountant with a drug problem who has stolen more than two million dollars from Vincent's accounts but let his daughter Ava beg for mercy and offer herself in exchange for not killing her father. One of the first decisions thrust upon him is whether to make an alliance the Bratva has offered that his father feels is an excellent arrangement but Vincent tells Demetri it will be four weeks before he gives a definite answer. So Vincent has his hands full, still grieving his murdered wife, caring for his baby, trying to corral the explosive Ava for his sexual satisfaction, while trying to straighten out his messed up books, and finding evidence to take to his father to prove why they shouldn't do business with the Bratva. The way the author reveals Ava and Vincent's characters while telling of the relationship between the two will have you on the edge of your seat and regularly in tears. Why won't Ava eat? Why do trips to the Dark Odyssey sex club turn out so well when they should debilitate Ava? She was a ballerina from Russia? Could she and her father have connections to the Bratva? This series is not for the faint of heart with hangings, bombs, rough-riding cyclists, and a shootout to save Ava and Vincent's son! I'm hoping there'll be stories on the cousins next.
This was the first book I read from this author and it definitely will not be my last. I bought all the other books in this series and a few others. I can’t find the right words to even describe this book. First, it is a Dark Mafia Romance. A lot of books say that but it’s not really an accurate description. I couldn’t put this book down for one second and I cried like I haven’t cried in a very long time because of what Ava went through before she met Vincent and what Vincent went through losing his wife. I actually felt I was living in Ava’s life while she was telling her story. I was heartbroken and devastated that a person went through an ordeal like that but she came out to be a strong amazing woman. A perfect equal for Vincent the Mob Boss. Vincent went through his own hell and it was harder for him to find peace because he felt responsible for his first wife’s death. The sex scenes were so hot hot 🔥🔥and there were a lot of them. I want to write more but I don’t want to give away spoilers. If anyone can’t decide what book/author to read , I STRONGLY recommend this book. I would really like another epilogue or novella with Vincent and Ava a few years later with kids and how there life is turning out.
Hijacked, hooked and hypnotized on high alert Tempt Me: A Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance (Dark Odyssey Book 4) by Faith Summers is a very well written dark mafia, billionaire romance. This book hijacked my attention, hooked me with the suspense, dark romance and the characters while hypnotizing me with the plot and a thick, dark, sensual fog created by Vincent and Ava. As I felt an urgency from beginning to end, this page turner also kept me on high alert. Vincent experiences all manner of emotions as does Ava. I just love how this author takes bits and pieces of a character’s back story and feeds the reader one little morsel at a time, keeping us on the hook to the very intriguing and enthralling end. At times pulse pounding, and often highly emotional, I had several moments of feeling anxious; waiting for the other shoe to drop, the axe to fall, the snake to strike. There’s all that and more. Overall, this mafia dark romance is off the charts hot with plenty of intrigue, mafia-style justice and fantastic characters that made this book an amazing read with an equally amazing HEA. What a roller coaster! I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
I’m going to say I know this is a older man/ younger woman book. But honestly the only times I thought of him as old was he when he mentioned his past. I found Ava’s relationship with her uncle very endearing in a way they kind of saved each other. I really enjoyed the way our hero loves his son and has a really great relationship with the housekeeper/nanny. But for what I didn’t care forI really didn’t enjoy the exploiting of her body in the club that they visited. I really felt like it really didn’t play anything into the story. I mean they had a sexual relationship but I felt like that was enough they didn’t have to have a club to do it in. And I know that that probably played a bigger role in the other books because I haven’t read those books it didn’t really appeal to me.
The ending of this book was honestly the best part I did not care for the whole kidnapping section of the book, not to get into too much detail about that I don’t want you to lose too much of the book because it was still good.
Tempt Me is the fourth book in the Dark Odyssey series by Faith Summers, aka Khardine Gray. This is the first book on this series that I have read and I have to say that I quite enjoyed it, even though did wonder a few times about things happening at times as it became apparent that there are characters and stories that cross over between the books in the series. I think this book can still be read as a stand-alone, however reading the previous books would have added more to what happens in this book. But It was still a heck of an emotional ride for this dark Mafia romance. Both Vincent and Ava carry a lot of emotional baggage that really shows with their actions. They deal with things differently but when they are together it is like red hot lightening. Sometimes you need that searing pain to heal a wound and Ava and Vincent do that for each other to get a HEA of their own making.
Action, heat and heart. The book is a great mix of action, heat and heart with just a little mystery thrown in. No, it is not a bdsm book, even though one of the settings is one of those clubs. And yes, Ava does offer herself up to Vincent in exchange for her father's life, but he gives her many chances to change her mind. To me, their heat feels real from the start, their clashing, just as much and thus the story feels less forced than what you would expect in this trope.
Ava is strong in her own right, making her own decisions to give in to the pull between her and Vincent. And Vincent wants what is best for Ava; his emotional growth is phenomenal.
A stand out book in a genre that is chock full mediocre stories
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. I am hooked on the Dark Odyssey series. Vincent has taken over after his father retires. He is determined to get the person who took millions of dollars from the family. But Ava gets in the middle of the whole mess. She wants her father to get clean and finds out just what he has been up to with the mob. Ava wants to give herself for her father's life. There are so many twists and turns thru this story. When Vincent has to decide what to do about the Bratva will Ava have a secret that will blow their world apart? This book has great characters and a great storyline. You will not want to put it down. It is a dark romance, so if that is not your genre skip this book. I look forward to more of Faith's stories

When are the Giordanos going to get respect? Why are they always attacked on their own turf in their own homes ? Totally crazy ! This particular book delivered a strong punch to the gut, similar to what Vincent experiences reliving his first wife’s death and having to make a horrible decision on who to save first. There are intense moments of violence and recollections. I felt Ava’s pain to the depths of my soul. I actually had to put my kindle down and walk away after her revelations. So much to say about what happens whether or not you agreed with the plot twists or are angered by the characters actions. At the very least you will feel something that remains with you to leave you remembering this book. I am in terror, disbelief and rage. I’ve basically gone through every emotion there is while reading this book. Kudos to the author.
Vincent still mourns the death of his wife who was murdered by a rival mob. This has caused him to close his heart and emotions becoming a ruthless killer instead except for where his toddler son is concerned. When a woman offered herself to him for payment of her father's debt he reluctantly accepted. Ava would do anything for her father to keep him safe. Their secret must never be revealed otherwise instant death. After the death of his wife and son his world started spiraling downwards to a path of destruction. Needing money for his fixes of drugs, booze and prostitutes he did one thing that insured his death. There is a strong chemistry between Ava and Vincent. As she peels back the layers she sees a different side of Vincent. When ghosts of Ava and her father's past become present their lives are put on the line. Tempt Me will keep you intrigued as the pieces of the puzzle begin to fall in place with mystery, suspense and turn of events that will even have your kindle sizzling. Tempt Me in my opinion is the best of the Dark Odyssey series! Thank you Hidden Gems and the author for a fabulous complimentary copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
Vincent will be the mob boss once his father retires, is he ready for that? When tragedy struck, he blames himself but becomes even more ruthless and hard. But when he is betrayed by an employee of his, he finds himself in an interesting situation. Ava steps up to offer herself to Vincent in exchange for her father's life, will that work? Can he take this kind of payment?
Ava is a strong-willed woman in her own right. But in this situation with Vincent and her father, how far will she really go to safe him? Can she give herself over to Vincent?
The book is a great read that includes mystery, love, lust, romance, tragedy, violence and twists and turns. Oh and the chemistry between Ava and Vincent is felt from the first time they meet and throughout the book, wow!!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.
I'm blown away by this series, the family bond, the suspense, twists and secrets! Tempt me is Vincent and I was very eager to hear his story. Vincent is the mob boss second to become first when is Dad retires. Vincent has always been a ruthless, hard man. After the death of both his brother and his wife, he never let anyone close to his heart. When he is betrayed by a trusted employee Mark, he finds himself in an interesting dilemma. Ava is Mark's daughter. She is determined to save his life from Vincent. She offers herself as repayment of Mark's debt and his life. But Ava has deep buried secrets that could cause havoc. This is a dark, painful read at times, but is worth it! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is another roller coaster ride in the life of the Giordano brothers and this time we get Vincent's book
His life at the moment is totally crazy with the retirement of his father to Sicily he is not only stepping up to become the new boss but is also handling life as a single father after the murder of his wife He also has a accountant who has embezzled from the family whose daughter Ava he is using sexually an offer he took up so that he didn't have her father killed He is also handling overtures from the Bratva With this all on his play is he really ready for Ava what is the connection to her and the Bratva and why is the only time they can connect at the Dark Odyssey Club . Is there a future for them You will have to read to see
Mob Boss and Widower Vincent is given a proposition by Ava (FMC) at the start of this book thats too good to be true. Ava is put in a corner when she tries to protect her father and she believes her only choice she has is to offer Vincent herself in exchange for clearing her fathers debts. Which as you can imagine plenty of steamy scenarios (which there are) including some very hot ones too at the sex club The Dark Odyssey. Except things get complicated when Ava's past catches up with her and brings violence to Vincent's door. Yes some parts were hard to read but the relationship between Ava and Vincent which starts off in an unorthodox way ends up being a caring one in the end. I thought this book was a damn good read
Vincent, the soon to be head of the familia, is still dealing with the Sudan death of his wife. He is trying but is not the nan he once was. Ava is trying to help her father, who is an addict, get clean. When she finds he is in trouble with the mob , she offers herself as payment. Vincent and Ava were not my favorite couple. I just couldn't connect with either if them. My heart went out to Vincent and his young son, but it surprised me that when his son and Ava, his new love, were in danger he chose her life over Timothy's. I understood his rationale but found it difficult to believe he wouldn't have gone after his son. This book has secrets, drama and action. I was given this book for an honest voluntary review .
Really good book and had all my favorite trope (mafia, age gap, contract-esque). I clung to my kindle and never wanted to put the book down. I did dock a star because of the typos, the constant use of “doll” to refer to women/conquests (?), and the lack of time showing the relationship of the H and his son. It was obvious he loves his son, but at no point did he spend time with him; it seemed like the nanny/housekeeper is raising him. I also wish the h had built a relationship with the son earlier in the book; it would show that she is becoming invested into the lives of the H and his family. She seemed to care for him, but it was in a way any nice human being would for a young child. Then in the epilogue we were thrown into a reality where she calls him her son. A bit abrupt IMO.

This is the story of two broken souls meeting from a twisted situation. The horrors Ava has faced are unthinkable. And the heartbreak Vincent has faced is gut wrenching. And they couldn’t come together in worse circumstances. I won’t give any details away but this story is gut wrenching but works its way to a happily ever after eventually. They say the only way to overcome grief and heartache is through it. And through it they go….. There are some truly hot and wild encounter between these two. And as usual there’s some serious violence and action going on as well.this story is one rough ride but you won’t regret taking it. I can’t wait to see what they’re up to in the next book…..
