Typically, the topic of this book isn’t something I’m drawn to. But I picked it up because I needed a short read for my train ride. And I was pleasantly surprised.
The writing is poetic and elegant, and despite little happening, you get to be engaged with the main characters.

Here are some excerpts that interested me the most, in the form of quotes:
“I have the love of the most beautiful girl throughout the ages to come back to, and an entire nation’s gratitude if I win, so trust me my lady, I will fight with all my might.”
“The world has taught me that there is nothing in between that which is fact and that which is false, except for shadows that weaken the mind and spirit.”
“Beyond love and fantasy, the dream that we could be something greater than we are spurs forth the imagination.”
