Maxi’s life is about to change, but not in the way she expects...
Maxi Stevens is at a crossroads. Things between her and James haven’t been the same since their kids left the nest. When she finds proof that indicates he may have strayed, she strikes out on her own. James’ infidelity has a silver lining, though. Maxi can finally do all the things James wouldn’t approve of like pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming an artist.
But everything is not as it seems. James wants Maxi back and will do anything to win her over. He’ll even beg Maxi’s best friends Claire and Jane for help. Will they want to team up with someone who they think has done their friend wrong?
Jane Miller has her own problems to deal with. She’s trying to satisfy the demands of a Bridezilla whose outbursts could ruin the first wedding at Tides. The success of the wedding is critical for the survival of the inn that has been in her family for four generations, luckily she has her sister, Andie, to help out.
Everyone is surprised that Andie is still in Lobster Bay. She didn’t think she’d still be here either, but she’s found a few reasons to stick around... at least for a little while. It’s not too late for her to go back to her job as an antiques appraiser in NYC and the opportunity to make that one big discovery she’s always dreamed of. Does Lobster Bay have something even better to offer?
Jane’s new relationship with Mike Henderson hits a snafu, Andie makes a startling discovery and things come together for Maxi with a happy ending she never would have predicted.
Escape to Lobster Bay on the coast of Maine today and find out how these three friends navigate the changes in their lives.
This book can be read as a standalone story, but it will be a lot more fun if you read books 1 & 2 first as you will get more background details about some of the characters in this story.
This is Book Three in the Lobster Bay series and I couldn’t put the book down until I completed it. I really have enjoyed how the author intertwined the stories of Jane, Maxi, Claire and Andie throughout the series. And Cooper! Who wouldn’t love Jane’s dog, Cooper? I have been left with a very warm feeling inside. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Making Waves is Book three in the Lobster Bay Book series. I really love this series.
This book can be read as a standalone story, but it will be a lot more fun if you read books 1 & 2 first as you will get more background details about some of the characters in this story.
I really enjoy the well developed characters including Jane, Maxi, Claire and Andie. The characters are flawed and complicated, with REAL life problems that make them very relatable.
The story is well thought out and multi-layered . I love the inclusion of animals.
This author nails women's fiction and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Cute story in this series about three friends in Lobster Bay Maine. This story focuses on Maxi who has raised a family with her banker husband and now she is an empty nester who feels lost. She thinks her husband is straying and decides it is time for her to rekindle her passion for painting and let her hair down some. Theses stories are quick reads and make you feel like you are part of the town.
I actually love these books, but have only given three stars because the writing at times is just so simple and borders on silly. Having said that though, I can’t stop reading them! 😂 The characters are very likeable and the beach town setting is so charming. I feel transported to this cute little town while reading, which is probably what keeps me coming back. Looking forward to book four in the series!
This is the third book in the Lobster Bay series by Meredith Summers. It has been great to watch the characters grow. Jane Miller is struggling with a "bridezilla" and her mother for the first wedding at the Tides Bed and Breakfast. With Jane's mother, Addie, now in the Tall Pines Memory Care Facility, Jane is trying to do it all. However, her sister, Andie, is still in Lobster Bay much to everyone's surprise. Maxi Stevens is dealing with what she thinks is her cheating husband, James. Claire Turner is doing well with Sandcastles Bakery and her new relationship with Rob Bradford. Andie is trying to decide if she wants to remain "home" or return to New York. Could the possibility of buying an antique store in town and maybe a renewed relationship with Shane Flannery help her make her decision. Maxi is seeing new possibilities in her life. She has started painting again. She has also rented a beach cottage and met a friend of Andie's, Chandler VanBeck, who is opening an art studio in Lobster Bay and wants to showcase Maxi's artwork. Will Jane's new relationship with Mike Hendrickson work out. His grandfather's dog, Cooper, now resides at Tides and is making everyone happy. This is a great follow-up to Books one and two. I encourage those who like friend stories to read this series. I received an advance copy of this book. This is my honest review.
Meredith Summers has done it again with Changing Tides, the third installment in her delightful Lobster Bay series. This audiobook was a fantastic listen, brimming with heart, humor, and just the right amount of drama to keep me hooked from start to finish. I’d give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars! This book truly lives up to its title, as we see major shifts in the lives of Maxi, Jane, and Andie. Maxi’s journey was particularly compelling. Her initial heartbreak over James’s suspected infidelity, while painful, becomes a surprising catalyst for self-discovery. Watching her finally embrace her artistic dreams, unshackled from what she perceived as James’s disapproval, was incredibly empowering. The twist of James wanting her back, and his desperate plea to Claire and Jane, adds a wonderful layer of complexity, making you wonder if there’s more to the story than meets the eye. Jane’s struggles with the demanding “Bridezilla” were hilariously relatable, and I felt for her as she navigated the pressures of keeping Tides afloat. The stakes felt real, and her dedication to her family’s legacy was admirable. It was great to see her sister, Andie, stepping up to help, even if Andie’s reasons for staying in Lobster Bay are still a bit of a mystery. Andie’s storyline was perhaps the most intriguing for me in this book. Her initial reluctance to stay, coupled with her professional ambitions, created a lovely tension. The hint of a “startling discovery” and the idea that Lobster Bay might offer something even better than her NYC career definitely piqued my interest. It’s clear she’s finding unexpected connections and reasons to linger, and I’m eager to see where her path leads in future books. Summers weaves these individual narratives together seamlessly. The way Jane’s relationship with Mike hits a snag, Andie makes her discovery, and Maxi’s life unexpectedly falls into place creates a satisfying, cohesive plot. The descriptions of Lobster Bay continue to be a highlight, making me wish I could escape to the charming Maine coast myself. Overall, Changing Tides is a wonderfully engaging story about navigating life’s unexpected twists, embracing personal growth, and the enduring power of friendship. It’s a perfect listen for anyone looking for a heartwarming and uplifting escape. I highly recommend it!
If you have read the first two books, then you already know that this series takes place in the coastal town of Lobster Bay and is about 3 best friends and their friendship and challenges. I really am loving this series and all of the characters. They seem so real that I start to think of them as friends. Lobster Bay is a place I would like to visit.
This book can be read as a stand alone but it is best if you read them in order. That way you can get to know all the characters. This book's focus is on Maxi. Maxi and her husband have been married for years and have recently become empty nesters. Everyone thinks that Maxie& James have the perfect marriage but do they? Maxi starts to wonder as her suspicions rise. Maxi's dream has always been to become an artist so when she meets a guy who is opening an art gallery in Lobster Bay, could this dream finally come true?
Over at Tides, the Bed & Breakfast owned by Jane is planning their first event, a wedding with a bridezilla and a mom who is even worse. This wedding could be what they need to save Tides so it is very important that it goes off with a hitch. But does it?
Jane's sister, Andi is trying to make some tough decisions, Does she go back to her job, Does she take the job her old boss offered her in New York or does she stay in Lobster Bay? You will need to read the book to find out.
I recommend this series. I can't wait for book #4.
I was happy to dive back into Lobster Bay with the third book in the series!
This one centers on Maxi, who’s facing some major empty-nest blues and a real crisis in her marriage. It’s hard not to root for her as she starts to rediscover herself, specifically, her long-neglected dream of becoming an artist. The journey is messy, empowering, and totally relatable.
But truly, the heart of this book is the incredible bond between Maxi and her best friends, Jane and Claire. They don't shy away from giving tough love when needed, but their loyalty is absolute. Whether it's Jane dealing with "Bridezilla" drama at her inn or Andie (Jane’s sister) trying to figure out if her temporary stay in Lobster Bay should become permanent, these women have each other's backs through thick and thin. Their group dynamic is the perfect example of how female friendship can be the absolute bedrock during life's seismic shifts.
I really enjoyed how the Lobster Bay crew is always so welcoming! Newcomers and old friends returning home are embraced with such warmth. It really makes the town feel like a place you'd want to settle down in. They're quick to offer support, a helping hand, and a much-needed cup of coffee.
This book is about navigating big changes and realizing that sometimes, the "happy ending" you get is even better than the one you planned. It’s charming, a little dramatic (in the best way!), and a beautiful testament to the power of community and friendship.
Another wonderful and heart-touching book in the "Lobster Bay" series. With a lovely coastal setting, and a great set of characters, this series just keeps getting better. The easily relatable characters face real life-changing issues, that so many of us face today. But instead of some Prince riding up on a horse, or millionaire flying in a private jet to save the day, they put in the effort to change and adapt, and learn to accept help from friends and family to over-come the problems. I love the feeling of contentment I get from reading these books. I could really see these becoming Lifetime or Hallmark movies in the future!!
This is the third in the series with well-developed characters including Jane, Maxi, Claire and Andie. The characters are flawed and complicated, with plausible life problems that make them very relatable. They actually put in the work to change and adapt. I liked the take responsibility for their actions attitude in this book. No one was waiting on being saved.
This was a nice change of pace for me and allowed me a break from mysteries. I was given an advanced copy and am not required to leave a positive review. I give it a 4.5 in the stars rating so I’ll be rounding up.
This book is book three in the Lobster Bay series. It's centered around Maxi, one of the three girls in her friend group, and her tough relationship with her husband, James. This book is also about Jane and her sister, Andie, as they prepare for a wedding. As well as Andie figuring out if going back to New York is something she really wants to do. I really like this book series because this author doesn't cuss too much in her books, plus there is no spice. This book was very quick to read. It took about 3 ½ hours to finish it. I rate this book 3/5 stars.
Oh wow! I so love this series! It’s so warm, and so completely escape-worthy. By that I mean that I completely forgot the world around me, which is always a great sign. The characters continue to really move me. This book could be read as a standalone, but for the characters and their stories, it’s best to start with book 1. But you won’t regret it, because this is such a heartwarming series! Well-written. Beautiful <3
The Lobster Bay series is all about friendship and finding your way after a certain age. This story looks at a couple who have recently become empty nesters and explores some of the challenges faced by many couples who have given up part of themselves to raise their kids. I love the camaraderie of the three friends as they help each other navigate the way. Great, well-developed characters and setting. Highly recommend!
The third in the series brings all the characters of the previous two books together for a happy ending. The three childhood friends (plus Jane's sister) achieve their lifetime goals. The inn is saved with the wedding of the year. I was disappointed with the brevity of this final book, feeling that it would have served better as concluding chapters to book two. The series is a great read, perfect for summer especially if you like the Maine coast.
Maxi's kids have left the nest and James is rarely home and signs point to him straying but instead of confronting him, she packs a bag and moves to a little beach shack where she can take up painting but James has no idea what he's done wrong. ...and Maxi's friends are on his side once they find out about the misunderstanding. Meanwhile Jane's sister Andie has decided to stay in Lobster Bay as both her mother and sister are there plus she loves the atmosphere and clean air. Lovely read
I am still enjoying the characters in this series. This one was more about Maxi and her husband James, but you find all the characters from books one and two still there. Loved that Maxi found an art studio and is painting again, with inspiration from her two little kittens Rembrandt and Picasso. So now we have a bakery, an inn and an art studio....and coming soon an antique shop in book 4. Lobster Bay sounds like a wonderful place to visit.
I’ve read all 3 books. Now waiting for #4. Very impatiently. Really enjoyed all 3 stories. Could hardly wait for the next one! I’ve preordered #4. And I will wait. Ugh. I hate waiting, when things are going so good! Well done! Really enjoyable. Thank you so much.
This heading fits Andie's decision to move back to Lobster Bay to be with her family and start a new life. The Lobster Bay series is a goid beach read and are so much to read and learning about Claire, Maxie, Jane, and Andie's lives. I am enjoying reading this series, and there is nothing not to like about it.
Third book in the Lobster Bay series. This book focuses on Maxi and her husband James. The recent empty-nesters going through changes in their relationship. This book also develops Jane’s relationship with her long lost sister, Andie, and their desire to bring Tides back to its former glory by hosting weddings. Easy read that is great for the beach!
Normally it doesn’t take me long to finish a book but life got in the way after the first two chapters. But it sat on my nightstand ready to be picked up today and I got to finish it. I love the stories, but I love the fact that despite multiple interacting characters, the same scenario doesn’t get played out over and over. It flows perfectly. I can’t wait to start book four tomorrow!
A fantastic beach read that's filled with highs and lows that comes together as a delightful ending. The characters are engaging, fresh, and full of surprise that even surprise themselves. I'm really enjoying lobster bays community and beautiful views. A must read that's uplifting and inspiring. Enjoy.
This book was great with getting the Tide set up for the wedding and Maxi doing her paint to exhibit. The friends helping James realizing he had to make Maxi realize he didn't cheat. All of the couples were matching up very nicely. I am looking forward to see how well the Tides is doing and A dies antique does.
Miss Summers continues the story of the Lobster bay crew. Tides has it's first wedding, including a bridzilla and mother of bridzilla. Toss in misunderstandings and a couple kittens, and you get a hard to put down read!
This series gets better with each book. I always enjoy the characters and the excellent story line and plot in each book. I highly recommend this book and all the books this writer puts out for our enjoyment.
Liking how this story is continuing from Books 1 & 2. It just keeps getting better and better. Readers will enjoy this story as well as the first two But there us one more to read. Thank you
Really enjoying the series. Easy reading. Love the characters. The flowing the town. Would like to live in the beach. Made me go out Abby a a glass. Wishing on a starfish.
Another good book in series. Maxi and her husband split over a misunderstanding. She leaves and starts to make new life on her own, rediscovers her painting talent. Husband James decides to win her back by changing his stodgy bank self to be more flexible and attentive to Maxi.

Author repeats basics a little too often...reminds the reader that (for example) Andie worked in New York and wasn't sure if Lobster Bay could offer her experiences with antiques...
