Allison Hart #3

Between Dark and Light

Rate this book
When a desperate woman walks through the door of ACL Investigative Services, P.I. Allison Hart grows reluctant after hearing her claim. She’s not alone in that hesitation when her partners, Charlie Wells, and Lucy Boyce stand in disbelief. The woman, Tabitha Barnes, recounts the surreal event that transpired while she was under anesthesia only a week earlier for a routine operation. She sees her son, a young boy who had been kidnapped one year earlier, wandering a parking lot alone. She awakens and tries to convince her doctor what she saw was real. He believes it was nothing more than the concoction of sedatives in her system and a mother’s grief. Allison is prepared to write off the claim as well, convinced the woman is still struggling with her son’s disappearance. But when Tabitha produces evidence to suggest she could be telling the truth, Allison turns to her team to consider the request. The reluctant investigators agree to help. Nevertheless, when they present the evidence to the police, it is dismissed as having been reviewed before. The initial investigation had gone cold and the police had all but closed the case. If the police weren’t going to continue their search, then it would be up to Allison and her team to help Tabitha find her son. Robin Mahle is pleased to present this third installment in the Allison Hart series. She’s a sharp-witted private investigator who works alongside her staunch ally, the sassy Charlie wells, to offer their unique style of investigating.

So Addictive that you’re unable to put down.
This is an Allison Heart story with her new ACL Investigation Services investigate a past case of a young boy called Hayden who was abducted from a shopping Mall while his mother Tabitha Barnes paid for some closing down sale items. At the time the Police investigated fully but failed to come up with any established leads and the case died, that is until a year later when Tabitha had an gallbladder removed and while under anaesthesia had a vision of her lost son and remembered something she hadn’t at the time of investigation. She goes to ACL being Allison, Charlie and Lucy who take on the case with the aid of Detective Shane “Sully” Sullivan and the original investigating detective Freddy Bryant.
With nothing new other than a bald headed man “the man with no hair” and a rare buffalo nickel the case starts opening up questions and leads with another victim also involving similarities to the missing boy Hayden. Their attention turns to a couple of coin dealers which could possibly know something and maybe not telling all the truth.
The book has an intricate start until pieces start coming slowly together and the persons of interest Alan and his son Andrew Chumbley plus Alan’s good friend Gary Lucado but who if any are guilty? The story is addictive, has surprising and believable theme to it and keeps you glued to every page until the end. You just can’t put the book down. All the characters are realistic and I highly recommend you read this book! Another great read by Robin and Allison and her team are here to stay.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "BETWEEN DARK AND LIGHT" OMG!!!! Robin Mahle did an excellent job creating this intense suspense thriller, full of intrigue, kidnapping, angst, danger, secrets, lies, betrayal, kidnapping, twists that will blow your mind.
Allison Hart, Charlie Wells, & Lucy Boyce run ACL Investigations Services a women walks into their office desperate for someone's help and someone to believe her her son Hayden Barnes 5yrs old was kidnapped from East Citrus Park Mall.
Tabitha Barnes had a vision while under during surgery Hayden came to her her husband Erik soon to be ex doesn't believe her so that's why she went ACL for the girls help to find her son or find out what happened to him to get closure.
This is one amazing rollercoster ride you can't get off of so buckle up for the ride of your life so much happens in this action packed thrilling suspense filled drama I definitely recommend so well wtitten with extremely well developed characters I hope the next story involves Allison Hart and Detective Shane aka "Sully" Sullivan get a little hot steamy and take their relationship to the next level.

Another great book by Mahle -
Tabitha is paying for her purchase when she turns around and her son is missing - she searches the mall with no luck.
And then Tabitha has a dream while under going surgery - she sees her son talking to a bald man and he has a rare coin.
She goes to Allison's investigations for help. They check with police reports and the investigation begins. With twists and turns an answer will be found - but will they find the boy?

ACL is on the case!

Very well written mystery regarding an unsolved child kidnapping. The characters are really developing as this series continues. I immediately felt drawn into this book and actually felt part of the story, albeit as an onlooker. Great thriller and plenty of twists to keep me mesmerized to the end. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

good series, ACL investigation which is 3 women

Client comes to ACL after seeming her son in a “dream”. He was abducted over a year ago. She now believes she has additional information that her son gave her in the dream. The ACL investigators would like to help this grieving mother. The son mentioned a Buffalo head nickel coin….. ACL now has something to work with or do they?? Fast paced and book keeps your interest, enjoy!

In this latest book, ACL's latest case involves child abduction.
It has been nearly a year since her child was taken and the police can't find him or the abductor, so she calls in ACL to investigate.
After a sticky start with the lead detective, the team makes some advances in the case, finding more children that had been abducted, and a common lead.

Great series!

Okay, so there are my notes in the book about things that do not make sense, but it’s still worth five stars because it keeps me reading for hours! This writer is better at keeping a mystery going for longer and us not figuring it out so quickly. Love the series!

Really not impressed

Actually I am a huge fan of Robin Mahle's work but this was so not a good one. Confusing. I understood the intent but it certainly wasn't presented in a clear cut manner. I struggled to even finish.

nice, clean plots

All of these books kept captivated and no cursing or explicit sex scenes. I wish there were more than five. I read them out of order since I skipped book 3 and then realized it after I read 4 and 5. All wonderful books.

This story had me reading literally into the early hours. Allison, Charlie and Lucy have their work cut out in this one when a grieving mother comes to them about her missing son who was abducted from a shopping mall a year before.
Their investigation tests the resolve and determination of the whole team and the journey is one where they hope for the best but expect the worst.
Sully , their police detective friend is around for support but he has his own ongoing crusade.

A first class detective thriller indeed.

Dull

Not much of a story, with large gaps in what is going on. Also full of editing errors, mainly punctuation.
