An In-Depth, Theologically-Rich Study of the Book of Jude
In a culture of subjectivity and "speaking your truth," we need to know how to lovingly fight for our biblically-based, truth-filled faith. That’s where Jude comes in. With a striking combination of humility, genuine love, doctrinal faithfulness, and directness, the biblical writer Jude teaches you how to treasure the gifts of salvation, the faith, the Church, and—most of all—Jesus Christ. By unpacking Jude’s meaning-laden words, we can learn to keep ourselves for Christ, even as Christ is ably keeping us for Himself.
You’ll be amazed at how much you can learn as you walk verse-by-verse through this small epistle. You’ll learn:
Why Jude uses metaphors like waterless clouds and wild waves What was going on in Jude’s time theologically and why it matters Why the warning passages can be a deep comfort to the believer To appreciate new dimensions of your belonging in Christ Get to know the oft-neglected voice of Jude, be comforted and challenged in your faith, and build community as you gather friends and study His Word together in Keeping the Faith.
Keeping The Faith is a 6-week study that provides great insight into one of the shortest books in the Bible. The study is well-designed and well-organized, with divisions into six weekly themes:
Keeping In Truth Keeping in Grace Keeping the Soul Keeping the Spirit Keeping the Body He Is Able to Keep Us
Each week is organized into 5 daily studies where passages and themes are explored, study and reflection questions with plenty of spaces for journaling are provided, and lots of charts and supplemental resource material are provided.
Keeping The Faith is a great Bible study for anyone who wants to explore the book of Jude in great depth or who is looking for a solid 6 week Bible study on an actual book of the Bible!

This is a good six week study on a small but often puzzling book in the Bible. Jude contains some unusual references to events and Davis addresses them in a good way, presenting the possible interpretations. She also does a good job of highlighting the issue of false teachers, a topic as important to us today as it was in Jude's day. My two most appreciated discussions in the book were on inner transformation and the relationship of faith and reason.
I like the study format. There are five daily readings for the weekly study. Extra Scripture to read and thoughtful questions are included. This would be a good study for group or individual use. The six week length makes it a good choice for a summer session.
I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.
Faith births the boldness to say, I trust God is greater than this temptation, though I do not see or sense it at this moment. Hope follows, saying, "One day, I will hate this sin as fully as I should. One day this temptation, this sin, will mean nothing to me."
Jude is a small book in the New Testament written to stand firm in the faith and what that looks like for those that follow God and have put their trust in Christ. The study was written to slowly go thru the book of Jude and to have resolve to follow thru. Resolve has been my new word this year so that word resonated with me in this study. Their is a resolve to have faith because you are fighting against spiritual warfare and many times yourself in your walk with faith. The study will help you think through your faith, not as pie in sky but how you apply in your every day life. That is resolve.
Each chapter starts with keeping and ends with Christ keeping us. It is bold and refreshing to see faith in light of scripture. So with the spirit of contending, dig into the scriptures and let it change you. Highly recommend.
A Special Thank you to Moody Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
The Book of Jude is often overlooked due to its length, but this six-week study provided so much insight. Davis dives deep into Jude’s warning to the Church about allowing false teachers in their midst and how these individuals can create a domino effect, leading others away from Christ.
I loved the cross referencing, historical info about Jude’s time, and references to hymns (each week ends with a hymn as part of the study text). The questions led to true reflection and served to help better understand both Jude and the same topics within the entirety of the Bible. Oftentimes questions can feel like regurgitation of the text or busy work, but I thoroughly enjoyed how much this study made me think. I also appreciated the encouragement to both read and reflect on the Chicago Statement of Biblical Inerrancy & The 42 Articles on the Essentials of a Christian Worldview. This study is not just fluff, but one that leads to reflection on one's faith and if they are truly following the God of the Bible.

My Thoughts: With the world telling us so many lies, it is good to get into a study that helps guide the Christian in keeping the faith. We are busy, the world is telling us so many untruths about God's word; it is wonderful to sit and study the book of Jude.
Keeping the Faith is a six-week study that is broken down into 5 days of exercises and study. It's not hard or time-consuming. It is perfect for digging into the short book of Jude. Everyone should study this book. It's time to read, study, and become aware of what's happening in our churches and the world around us. This study comes highly recommended.
Keeping the Faith is the first Bible study by blogger and author Lianna Davis. This study is 6 weeks long and takes readers through the book of Jude. The format of Keeping the Faith is similar to that of other women's Bible studies by Moody Publishers. Each week includes 5 daily studies that begin with Scripture from Jude as well as cross-references to similar Bible verses. Following this is a brief prayer and a devotional type text that helps readers dig deeper into the book of Jude. Each daily study concludes with questions for study and reflection. I liked that many of the questions involve looking up additional Bible verses to explore more of what the Bible has to say about concepts mentioned in Jude. I also really enjoyed reading the cross references for each study. Rather than just taking readers quickly through the short book of Jude, Lianna helps readers break down some of the concepts mentioned in Jude's letter. I am thankful that Keeping the Faith explores these concepts because many of them are probably not well understood such as the concept of antinomianism (lawlessness). While I had read Jude before, I found myself learning so much as the result of this study. Keeping the Faith reminded me of my need to treasure the true gospel message and Jesus Christ Himself. Overall, I really enjoyed this Bible study and was really excited to learn that although the book of Jude is short, it is very rich and contains implications for how Christians ought to live in this present age. I received Keeping the Faith compliments of Moody Publishers in exchange for my honest review.
Whenever a new book in the Moody Bible Studies for Women series is released, it instantly goes on my ‘need-to-read’ list! The newest addition is entitled “Keeping the Faith: A Study in Jude”. Written by Lianna Davis, this is a 6-week study that dives deep into the small but powerful book of Jude - a portion of the Bible that is often overlooked.
In “Keeping the Faith”, Lianna guides us verse by verse through the book of Jude as we unpack topics such as: walking with God in mercy, peace, and love; recognizing true warnings and false teachers; and understanding theological topics such as Gnosticism and antinomianism.
Each of the six weeks of this study are comprised of an introduction and five days of lessons. Every day features a highlighted verse from Jude and a pertinent cross-reference, a prayer, and then a brief reading that is packed with insightful teachings from the author, as well as quotations from commentators and theologians whom she has learned from. Finally, we close off each day with a set of questions for study and reflection, to help us apply what we learned to our own lives.
All in all I enjoyed diving into the book of Jude, and found Lianna’s writing to be warm and conversational, yet extremely intelligent and in-depth. If you are looking for a new Bible study, perhaps about an often-overlooked book of the Bible such as Jude, I highly recommend “Keeping the Faith”. I learned a lot from it, and it makes a wonderful addition to the Moody Bible Studies for Women series that I adore.

Keeping The Faith is a six-week, in-depth study on the Bible book of Jude by author Lianna Davis. It is a Moody Publishers book.
This would be a good study for readers who already have background knowledge of Jude. I felt at a loss with much of the reading. Because it’s short, only about 30 minutes of Bible study daily, it would work fine for those who have busy lives. I would suggest, as always, keep at Bible at hand so the reader can understand the context.
Jude is a short, one-chapter, book that packs a powerful punch. I learned more about the tenets of Gnosticism and about the theological concept called antinomianism (lawlessness).
Although this study is not my preferred method I did find parts of it interesting.

Jude, one of the shortest books of the Bible, holds deep truths that will transform your life. Lianna Davis has written a six-week study of Jude called "Keeping the Faith" which shows the importance of this short book and how it comforts believers and teaches how to contend for their faith.
Even though Jude contains only 25 verses, you will be challenged and transformed by Davis' study. By the end of the six weeks, you will know a lot about Jude as well as about the character of God.

I must say that I never thought that the book of Jude (being only one chapter), we could have a six-week study. Wow!. On each week we have a specific theme, step by step we go not only by the guidance of Lianna Davis, learning more of the profound truth we found on this epistle and what amazed me the most it is how what Jude say it is the sad reality in our global church and is important to us to dig deeper on the warnings for us as Christians. This bible study could be a great opportunity for small groups.
This was a study on Jude which is very unique - I've never done a deep dive into the book before. I enjoyed the reference to other Scripture passages and the reflection and study questions daily. I did feel that the author focused on particular themes - like judgment - too much at the expense of really un packing some of the complex language in Jude, eg Enoch, Balaam and the angels. She did discuss it but I would have enjoyed more viewpoints and study on the tricky parts!
I bought this book directly from the publisher along with many other workbook-type Bible studies. This book is good and Godly, but not for a new Christian. The author includes a lot of doctrine. This workbook has more reading portions, and less filling in the blanks, than many others I have done. While her style is different, the material included is more meaty then a new believer may be able to easily process, and they may get discouraged.
I really enjoyed this Bible study. I loved how Lianna Davis wrote this study on the Book of Jude. I feel like this book of the Bible isn't discussed and explained much. I appreciate how Davis writes and how she digs in deep to fully understand the book. I love how she uses cross references that helps us understand other verses throughout the Bible as well.

"Keeping the Faith" is a 6 week long Bible study on Jude. Each week had an introduction and 5 days of study. Each day would start with a verse or two from Jude and a cross reference verse from another book of the Bible that related to the same topic. The verses in Jude were not always studied in order but were topically grouped. The author then gave a prayer and provided some commentary on the verses, including useful insights and word studies to help the reader better understand the verses. Next, she included study prompts that further tied in other verses from the Bible. She concluded each day with reflection questions about what was learned and how that affects your life. I felt that the author did a very good job of explaining the verses and tying them into the rest of the New Testament. Overall, I'd highly recommend this Bible study.
I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
I truly enjoyed this study and the dive into Jude. Its not a book I feel is often examined yet the study/devotional brought out a lot of important parts of the scripture. Would Definitely recommend.
