Rate this book

Harness the power of Hawaiian Shamanism to rapidly heal yourself using the power of your body, energy, and mind.

Our bodies and minds are inextricably woven together in a complex and powerful way. In Instant Healing: Mastering the Way of the Hawaiian Shaman Using Words, Images, Touch, and Energy, readers will learn how to explore and strengthen that connection to promote wellness. Using the wisdom of kuna, or Hawaiian shamanism, author Serge Kahili King offers a radical path towards drug-free healing.

All forms of injury—whether mental or physical, from disease, trauma, or illness— incur physical tension and stress. King offers a radical reinterpretation by showing that this physical tension and stress is not the result of the injury or disharmony, but rather the cause of it. By working to eliminate this root stress readers can achieve physical and mental healing for themselves without resorting to invasive methods. Written in a jargon-free and easily accessible style, Instant Healing will teach you to use the power of words, the power of imagination, the power of touch, and the power of energy to aide in the healing of all types of ailments.

This 20th anniversary edition includes a new introduction featuring a bonus healing technique. The book also features a special section on emergency techniques that can be used with a minimum of explanation to bring rapid relief. Instant Healing will transform the way you consider your body and empower you to take control in a new way.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my digital copy in exchange for an honest opinion. Opinions and thoughts expressed are completely my own.

I absolutely loved this book. It is basically a book on how to heal yourself using your imagination, energy and intent. He talks about what his Grandmother taught him when he was growing up...things like how we can change our thoughts and by using nothing but our brains and our energy, we can heal ourselves and others of some very basic issues... This book was FULL of information that many people will not give credence to but people like ME will love it. I believe very strongly in how powerful the brain is and what it can do. Meditation, creative visualization, our intentions...ALL of it can make for an easy and enjoyable way to recreate our lives, in a way. I have to say that I have given a few of these a go and they are working for me as of right now. Enough for me to strongly believe I can do more.

This book was received as an ARC from St. Martin's Press - St. Martin's Essentials in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

Reading this book taught me a lot about stress and the effects it has for our body. The knowledge displayed throughout the book by Dr. Serge Kahili King is easily insightful that I can believe at least one person from our library community will benefit from. Our senses are our most powerful tools and it is up to us to use them and interpret them properly. There is a lot of useful information in the book which means it will do very well in our self help-healing collection at our library and I know a lot of people will be interested in this topic and will have the desire to learn all about instant healing.

We will consider adding this title to our Self-Help/Spirituality collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Although the publishers write about it being a self healing book with techniques (yes, it has that), it is more of a tool to reframe the narrative we create for our life. It shows how our impressions and opinions, what we see, believe and imagine dictate our feelings, emotions and wellness or lack thereof. It shows how to work with those beliefs and symbols in our life to change how we feel and to see a better outcome for ourselves and our health. Very interesting on so many levels. The techniques and examples may throw some people when reading this... for those people I suggest you see them as examples for you to frame and solidify your understanding of what is written. By the way, this author does write in a way that is very accessible and easy to understand. Open your mind to a new way of thinking with this as a guide, not a specific prescription. Do what works for you, the base of what is said here is what’s more important. Change the way you think and understand your mind and body in a different way because your failure to do so is what is making you sick.

Interesting book on how to heal yourself using imagination, touch, energy and spirituality. Some ideas were a bit too out there for me but others were do-able. Worth a try!
