Single, Again

Rate this book
Single, Again is a true story. I wish I could say that I knew from the beginning that I was writing a book. I wish that when I started writing that I had the confidence and the courage to see what my blog would one day become. I started to write, not knowing what would fall out of me. Single, Again began as a blog about a woman who finds herself single after 22 years of marriage. It took me nearly a decade to leave my husband. My divorce was my hit. Yours might be divorce, or the loss of a loved one, or loss of a meaningful career. The common thread is recovery. In this journal I leave myself and go back to find the 25 year old carefree young woman I was. I peek through the window of the married girl I had become, visit myself as a child, lying on the grass, wondering about the world. I share the lessons I learned in a way I hope you can apply to your own life, your own pain, your individual life journey. I pray that no matter where you are on your journey, that you find self love, and you let someone love you.

This book flowed so beautifully, from page 1. I read the entire book in less than a day, mostly because I just couldn't put it down. It is a book of hope, teaching us that we are in charge of our destiny, regardless of the bumps in the road of life. This author has a true gift for writing, and I look forward to her next book!

I loved this book, being divorced and through many dysfunctional dating experiences, I laughed cried and felt all the emotions we go through when we are feeling alone ,vulnerable and unsure what the next chapter will be. This book, makes you feel, happy, strong. and eager to start over being single again,. The author, writes this story. so that when you finish, you know the most important thing is you Love your self, the rest will follow.

This true story is common for many women, but what is not common is Ellen's courage to begin again, continue living with a good attitude and to create her Dream life. Life is challenging after a 20+ year marriage dissolves due to infidelity, but she powered through it.

Ellen opens her heart and shares her feelings, wisdom and encouragement. I'm amazed that a first-time author could write such an intriguing book. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. The opening made my heart beat so quickly!

This book would be ideal for therapists counseling divorced women.

Powerful & inspiring journey

No matter where you are, single, married, looking, happy, this is a great book about healing, growing, thriving, becoming.
How great it would be if we all learned this earlier, that it is all about creating and sharing love, that we are worthy of it and it is attainable. I loved so much in this book, the honesty and vulnerability. I loved "I'm looking for a car and you're offering a bike".

Not my preferred style of writing

I really thought this would be a book I could connect with, but failed to grasp an actual story. I had a difficult time piecing together her thoughts.

Single again is a story I have lived through myself. I think it could be a lot better. So much happenedha

that wasn't even mentioned. I too found myself. I loved the old me before marriage. It was hard to get her back but she was worth finding. Like I said the book was so so.

Makes you think in a good way !!

There are many breathtakingly beautiful parts of this book !! Some of it is just too confusing and needs a little narrative to hold it together. Well worth the read !!

I couldn't put this book down. Ellen's honesty will make everyone want to take an inventory of their own lives. It's a story of a women who has to walk through the darkness to get to the light on the other side. We all have to do this in some form or another...it's called evolving. Ellen takes you inside her intimate journey of a marriage that is slowly tearing her apart until she learns how to love herself again.

The message in this book: Each of us facing challenges in our life, but it's not what happens to us that makes the difference. It's what we do next and how we react.

Ellen Hildebrand's book, Single, Again is a true story about perseverance after her marriage was destroyed by her husband's unfaithfulness. But it's not about the divorce, it's about finding yourself again and pressing on in life. Heartbroken? Absolutely. But she still had three young boys to raise, plenty of love to share and a burning desire to create a very happy life. She found something positive to focus on, set new goals and created a wonderful life.

This book is a must read for anyone who has dealt with or is experiencing heartbreak. It will be a source of inspiration and encouragement to find yourself again, begin again, and find new love. Once you begin to read it, it will be very difficult to stop! Ellen is a terrific writer who writes and lives from her soul. Enjoy!
