Color Me Mozart is an educational book that teaches children music by using colors and shapes, two things they are already familiar to.

CHARACTERS
Mozi, a young boy, and Sali, a small, floppy-eared dog, are two absolutely darling characters! I thoroughly enjoyed Mozi's cloud piano hat and Sali's little violin, they captured the spirit of the book perfectly.

WRITING
I don't think the writing in this book could have gotten any better, to be honest. Each page is condensed enough to where it is easily comprehensible by children while still giving them all of the tools they need to learn that particular note. Each page builds off the previous one(s), so the children are constantly practicing the old notes while still being exposed to new ones, which is important to the process of learning music.

I found it nice how the book starts with a note from the author on how to use the book and a little information about how the color & shape technique works so teachers/parents are able to give their children the most out of the book.

All of the hands-on activities are another added touch as well as it helps the children interact with the book. Another important piece in learning music is to keep interacting with what you have learned that way it reinforces in your mind. Not to mention, children just love to do things such as coloring, matching games, etc., which are all featured in this.

Towards the end of the book, Edwards includes popular children's songs, such as London Bridge and Row, Row, Row Your Boat utilizing the shapes/colors learned prior as well as common note patterns for children to play.

ILLUSTRATIONS
This book is packed full of bright, inviting colors to keep children engaged while learning. It also combines familiar, whimsical animals that are almost always eye-catching to children. This all being said, they aren't distracting as they help enhance the story.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I believe that a child would find this book very exciting and would love to use it as a tool to learn music, even if music doesn't pique their interest due to the inviting theme displayed consistently throughout.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I probably would have loved this as a child when I was in younger elementry/preschool when I was figuring out how to play instruments in music class, and learning my colors. I'm kinda really glad that this book is out for the younger audiences to enjoy who are beginning to play a form of musical instrument and/or learning their colors.

I really liked the information the author given out on how to play a few certain songs while learning a few colors in the meantime. It was helpful, though I was really wondering why the author would do that on a select few instruments and not multi ones.

I'm really unsure of who was telling the story. Other reviewers mentioned there were a few characters, but I only felt like it was the author who was telling this kind of information, but it offered good information for its intending audience.

I did like the graphics. It made the story quite cool, and I was kinda fawning over them during my quick span of reading this book.

Unfortunately, because of my age I couldn't have enjoy it more because I'm not the intended audience it is meant for.

Adrian has created a book not only to educate abut to introduce new way of learning. By incorporating characters, colours and musical notes it gives children an unique opportunity to learn how to play a piano. Not only does it teach children how to play it also encourages them to read, to colour and meet new characters.

I really hope that this book will open new ways of fun learning for lots of children across the globe.
