In the steamy, thrilling conclusion of the Zombie Apocalypse Romance trilogy...
Caitlin Meadows has survived a plane crash, malicious government foot soldiers, and a zombie infested wasteland. Her life is nothing like it was only several months prior, but her one bright spot is her beloved Jack Booker-- the man she never would have imagined for herself and now cannot live without. With more of their friends rescued and their numbers growing, Caitlin and Booker shoulder the responsibility of building a new community out of the rubble of once was. But when tragedy strikes and grotesque clues point to there being a murderer in their midst, can Caitlin and Booker uncover the threat before it's too late? Or will they meet a bloody end?

Another one inhaled in no time at all, this was the perfect ending to an unputdownable series. From start to finish I was hooked, sad that this is the end and I have to say goodbye to these characters.
The author came out guns blazing with the last book, more angst, more heartbreak, more heat.
I loved this trilogy and will be one I’d definitely reread again. Highly recommend this series..
Bloody Sunset was an awesome conclusion to Booker and Caitlin. While the story mainly focused on the group trying to settle in a new place someone is out to cause problems. This situation takes up most of the story and the person was pretty obvious, but it was easy to overlook. I was so focused on the couple because I loved the deep bond that had developed between Booker and Caitlin. They had such an amazing partnership and I adored how Caitlin was so possessive of Booker. They were constantly together, and their love was definitely unbreakable. There was a moment when my heart broke but lucky for me their HEA was a happy one. I definitely look forward to more books by this author.
* Review of series So, my question is, why aren't more people reading this awesome series? I have never read a book that combined the apocalypse, romance, sexy times, emotion, action, amazing characters in three concise books. I was hesitant at first because I thought there was going to be a lot of world building, backstory and internal monologue, but there was none of that. The backstory came out organically through the dialogue which was very engaging. The author has a way of giving distinct personalities to most of the characters via the way they speak. But the best part of this book are the main protagonists themselves. Booker and Caitlin are characters you would root for from the start. I just loved how their relationship developed. Their first meeting was hilarious, the witty banter that followed showed you their growing friendship and trust, and then ... sexual tension. I was surprised how steamy this book was in the midst of the apocalypse but it fit the desperation and the deep connection that developed over forced proximity.
The gore was not that gory (at least to me) , but you feel the urgency of the action scenes that will keep you turning the pages.
I just love how this couple was so devoted to each other. Normally I would be distracted when the accent of the character is spelled out in the book, but I found Booker's drawl very endearing as well as sexy. I love how protective he is of his songbird.
Although the third book slowed down a bit, and the bad guy was obvious, it did not lessen my apprehension about how the survivors will make it in the zombie-infested world. So if you're looking for a different read and even if post apocalyptic books are not your thing but you're the type who would read anything with a protective alpha hero, give this series a try!
Really enjoyed this series! This 3rd one wasn't as good as the first two, probably because I preferred the smaller group dynamic rather than the larger group. I also didn't need the side drama, aren't zombies enough drama?
Overall, it was a satisfying end to this three book journey.
Now and then you find a book that captivates you. No matter what genre or if it's a series (I stick to stand alones. Actually. 😉) But this one just had everything: action, love, laughter, "geeks", sex and the perfect ending. 🥰🤗👩❤️👨🧟♂️
I still missed the connection between Caitlin and Booker. the first book was the best for me. I didn't care much for all the people. the group was way too big for my liking. I really really wished the author would have given booker and cae more room.
This was a fun series with a great set of characters and a plot line which kept my interest through three books! I love a good zombie apocalypse comedy/romance. Though for the end of the world there was quite a bit of sex mixed in with the zombie killing.
I finished this last book and I will say that I loved reading it. In this last installment the resistance and strength of the group as a unit was tested against an enemy more dangerous than the hordes of geeks. Caitlin and Brooker's love never wavered, but the uncertainty made them rethink whether it was the right thing to do to stick with each other. Luckily everything ended as it should.
It has been a trilogy full of action, terror, suspense, but above all love and friendship. A great message about how human beings can rise from tragedy and survive because it is not in their DNA to give up. The strength of the love between Caitlin and Brooker, their fortitude, fight and integrity and the friendship they offered to everyone was a great impulse for others not to give up.
I missed a glimpse into the future of the world with respect to the current one.
This series is underrated and if you like post apocalyptic romances you should read this.
This is a very action packed conclusion to the trilogy (that reads just like a one long book) and possibly a bit darker as they start to try and find a permanent place to live.
I really appreciate the suspense element, however I wish the author had hidden the bad guy better. I like to be creeped out and scared tho and not everyone wants that so this probably wouldn’t bother most readers.
Wraps up very satisfactorily and I loved the epilogue!
The plot is basically an extended murder mystery, whodunnit sequence (which I HATE) and it felt less like an apocalyptic action romance and more like an episode of criminal minds.
We got way less Booker in this one (bummer) so their relationship took a backseat to the mystery (except when they smashed) and the camp dynamics were just…off. Add in a surprise pregnancy trope (HATE IT) and we’re really rolling.
Idk I just wasn’t feeling it. And the HEA was nice but felt like an afterthought
Let me start by saying this series started out rocky. I almost dnf’ed the first book in total honesty. But with every chapter and every book it improved immensely. This last installment of the series was by far the best! Angst, mystery, betrayal, heartache, and a perfect HEA. I was on the edge of my seat! I teared up and almost cried toward the end- and to think I almost gave up on it! True zombie apocalypse book and it’s giving major “walking dead” vibes! But of course, with more romance added to the plot! Pretty solid read.
I really enjoyed this zombie apocalypse trilogy. It really reminded of The Walking Dead TV show that I enjoy watching. It was about survival in a completely changed world and building safe relationships since the zombies aren't the most dangerous thing out there, some other survivors are.
There was lots of action, romance, sexy times, and so many amazing characters. Caitlin is a strong badass and I loved her romance and partnership with Booker.
My least favorite of the series. I feel like the author sacrificed some of Booker's strength as a character to make Caitlin stronger. I didn't like the hero worship of Caitlin in this book. I felt like Booker became this puppy that followed and just did as Caitlin said.
This story focuses more on the drama of the people at their compound than the survival or romance.
The ending of the series was still good though. Overall, a very entertaining series!
The angst? The thrill? It was so nerve wrecking! I think I might really be into that apocalypse and survival stuff. Might dive deeper into that genre later. As long as it has someone like Booker in it I‘m sold!! The banter was so good and pretty funny, I enjoyed it a lot. plus it had a great ending!
gonna grab a physical copy as soon as they’re out!
I really enjoyed this series, I think it was well thought out and the main characters had good story arcs. I love apocalyptic stories and romance, this hit the spot, theres a lot of badly written ones out there but this is worth the read!
3.5 stars! What I loved about previous books I do love about this one. I just felt that the pacing to wrap up the story moved a little bit fast and plot wise. It took a little bit of a turn. I was still emotionally invested and I enjoyed it.
Murder, mystery, mayhem. This was by far the best outta the three of this series. Yes it still continues to have a clunky sorta time hop where it’s accelerated speed through, BUT the plot for this one held stronger due to having the whole thing have a underlying mystery for you to focal on. Love it honestly even if I was already solid guessing in the whodunit early on. Smidge more to the smut pile, more growth and a twist in the end that could’ve easily went one way or the other? And without spoilers here either ending would’ve been satisfying as the series wrap up.
2.5 rounded down because I didn’t like how it ended :/
I really really enjoyed the beginning of this. I loved how they settled at the school and started making a life. I do think that some of the group seemed very naïve (which was made much more apparent later), but that overall they had the right ideas going around.
I do still think that the romance was very lackluster, especially considering that this is marketed as a romance book. In my opinion, the romance is more of a subplot with the main plot being about establishing a homestead.
I also think that it was crazy how easily they accepted people into their group. Of course someone was going to be crazy if you did nothing to vet them.
I was very into the sabotage subplot, it really gave me some criminal minds vibes. However, I thought it was way too obvious. I also hated that Caitlin kept doubting her instincts.
My biggest issue and the reason for my low rating was the ending. I thought the end of the conflict was so stupid. It was also very rushed.
***spoiler below*** The fact that Caitlin was bitten and then part of the 0.8% (or whatever) of the population that’s immune to the virus was absolute bullshit. It would’ve been a better ending if she died. Literally ANYTHING else would have been a better ending.
I'm really into Z. A. right now and I always want romance in the mix. This series for the bill perfectly. I loved the relationships, especially between Caitlyn and Booker, but also the people who became their extended family along the way. The romance was HOT. Booker is my new book boyfriend. A strong man who is also incredibly gentle and not afraid to love and go all in. Caitlyn is a strong female lead who cares deeply and can carry her own weight. I loved them as a couple. The zombie theme wasn't as intense as some other books I have read but the characters and story was so well done that you won't really notice because the story still really grand you. This is a series I will definitely dust off and read again. Absolutely worth a read.
Hard to finish this type of series I think. I knew who the bad was for too long and it got frustrating waiting for the shoe to drop. Still give it 4 because it’s a solid series but this was my least favorite of the 3.
