Pass the scalpel please! Heart surgery has just begun!
Hook, Line, & Scalpel is the first book in the Bay City Medical Romance series. It contains a mild heat level and can be read on its own.
Look out for other Bay City Medical Romances this Hook, Line, & Vital Signs(August 2019) Hook, Line, & Stitches(September 2019) Hook, Line, & Interns- The Bay City Medical Prequel (Coming soon)
She just found out her boyfriend was cheating so to laugh at her for sobbing in the men's washroom wouldn't have put him in her good books. Dean was new to the hospital anyways and wanted to be friendly with everyone including Reagan.
Finding a friend with all they've both dealt with was the best gift but not the only.
I really loved reading this book. Fast paced a bit and I couldn't tell all that much how much time passed but I enjoyed it. I'm glad she didn't take Matt back- and although it's sad about his accident he got what karma wanted to dish out in terms of love. Maybe one day he would be faithful.
The twist about Dean is crazy. But at least he got to know them both. Too bad about his dad.
I wonder if Mercy and Kennedy have something brewing.
Cannot wait until the next book in this series.

I did not like this book. First, I am not a fan whatsoever of profanity in books, and this book had every one of them, including the F-bomb. I am not the only one who doesn't like profanity in books, and I sincerely believe that authors should put in their book descriptions if the book contains profanity.
I am a registered nurse, so I was drawn to read Hook, Line, and Stethoscope. I wish I hadn't. Both the doctor and the nurse in this were so unprofessional that it set my teeth on edge. The way both of them acted was just so wrong, wrong, wrong. The author clearly doesn't get how doctor-nurse interactions actually happen in a real hospital. I know this is fiction, but it would be nice if it were a little closer to reality and not so unflattering to doctors and nurses. Seriously, the nurse could have been fired for the way she acted. Ugh. If you don't mind excessive profanity and wildly inaccurate depictions of professionals, you might enjoy this book.
I received a free copy of this book as a part of a collection, but that did not affect my review.
I really enjoyed this book but honestly, Reagan got on my nerves a bit. I liked her as a whole, but her whiny, gullible attitude drove me bonkers. I wanted to talk some sense into this girl, because at times, she did not make the best decisions. Now Dean, I loved him, so he easily made up for Reagans lack of common sense. He was the perfect gentleman. This was written as a 3rd person, multi pov. I wish we would have seen a bit more of Deans pov and less of poor pitiful me Reagans.
Good story concept, can not wait for more in the series. I assume that since there is more to come, we will get to see Mercy and Kennedy with their own book(s). This was a good start to a new series.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this quick story about Dean and Reagan. She's a scrub nurse specializing in pediatric/cardic. When we meet her, she is dating Matt. But that is quickly put to the test when she catches him messing with another woman. She freaks and heads to the bathroom, but unfortunately for her, she ends up in the men's room. Dean is a new doctor at the hospital and finds himself in the first day in the bathroom with a crying female. The two hit it off. But she doesn't want to complicate things since she just broke up with Matt. This story tells about how their relationship grows and changes from friends to more. Great HEA.

From the first page nurse Reagan’s boyfriend was a jerk and I didn’t understand why she would want to be with him and why she would blame herself for his cheating ways. She’s attracted to the new surgeon Dean and he to her, but she feels guilty because even though she breaks up with her boyfriend she’s still holding onto him. There was a lot of back and forth in this medical romance. She thinks Dean is done waiting for her and has moved on and Dean thinks she went back to her ex. I liked Dean from the beginning, but I wasn’t so sure about Reagan.
A new series that I will be following it is called Bay City Medical Romance series. A well written story with a great storyline and pages that flowed smoothly from one to the other. Scrub nurse Reagan Fowler and Pediatric cardiac surgeon Dean Everly's story grabbed my interest from the start and did not let go until the last page. I was completely hooked with this story! It's a roller coaster ride of emotions with some surprising twists and turns. I could not put the book down once I go into it. I love Dean and Reagan's path to happiness. Friends to so much more! I enjoyed everything about the story! The characters are amazing with wonderful chemistry. I cannot wait to read "Hook, Line and Vital Signs" to see who the story features.
I really enjoyed this book. Reagan and Dean were good together although Reagan aggravated me occasionally. I enjoyed seeing their relationship developing from friendship to something more but would it survive when Reagan's ex reappeared.

A good small-town romance read. Reagan and Dean are well-developed characters with believable chemistry and friendship. I liked the plot and how it mixed the small town with hospital life.

Poorly written with awful grammar and misused words . Someone missed the editing portion of the work. Would not recommend reading anything else by this author.
