The wise and warm sayings of one of America's favorite Christian authors are collected in this unique gift book to guide and encourage graduates. This delightful book includes intriguing four-color art and design throughout.
With more than 150 million products in print and several NYT bestsellers, Max Lucado is America's bestselling inspirational author. He serves the Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, where he lives with his wife, Denalyn, and their mischievous mutt, Andy. His most recent book published in August 2024 and is titled What Happens Next.
I've read many books by Max Lucado. He is a very good Christian writer. The vignettes in this volume are warm and inspiring with the right touch of humor. The book is broken into short segments. There is text on the right hand side of the page and a single quote with artwork on the left hand side. This setup could work well as a daily devotional, since a single topic takes only a few minutes to read. But the short length also makes you want to continue to read, "just one more." I read several sections each time I picked the book up because they are so interesting and insightful. Either way, if you are a spiritual person, you will enjoy this book and Lucado's vision of God.
This book was in our neighborhood lending library. On the one hand it is sad that someone put it there since this is a gift book given to someone named Curtis by Sheila in May 1998. A very personal note was written in beautiful handwriting inside the front cover. Hopefully Curtis took to heart the message of the note and the book. Maybe someone will be touched by the book as well in our neighborhood. This goes back to 1998 so the pages in the book are from Lucado's various works up until this point, each page with an illustration, a thought, a story and encouragement about God and His only Son Jesus. I really like the note about the fruit of the Spirit which comes from his book "When God Whispers Your Name." I also thought his comments on the Lord's Prayer were very meaningful (from his book "The Great House of God". At the end of the book are pages to fill in with personal notes, etc. (which was not done).
I received this book 18 years ago for a high school graduation present And as I was cleaning my place I picked it up and started reading it again! Such valuable lessons in such an easy format to understand just how awesome our God really is!
Some beautiful messages that really spoke to me, but also some that didn’t do much for me. But that is to be expected. I love the design, the photographs and the setup of this book. All in all, I’m very glad to have read this.
Max is my favorite author. This devotional has stress-relieving effects. take a drink of this someday, haha. I like the insights of God's mercy and humility that is startling under Max's pen, in this book.
This was a nice daily sip of message...one message every evening for a few months, no more than 1 page a night. It's kind of a 3-month devotional, and a nice supplemental to a full-year morning devotional.
Someone gave this to me as a gift when I graduated either high school or college (Lubbock Christian University). I know I read it, but barely remember reading it.
