The trilogy was great but the ending was a tear jerker. Spoiler Alert... I hated that Lev died, why would you do that !?!? We wanted Lev to live happily ever after with Nila!!! I felt robbed of that ending. But the author did what she thought would be the best response.. A definite tear jerker. Had me bawling at the end. But for some reason all of the authors endings in her books are strange or disappointing. But a good read none the less.

I enjoyed the books. The problem I found with them is the rush to write through the story. The first one had me pretty interested. The 2nd book disppointed in the fact I felt cheated out of a really good story, meaning there could have been so much more to make book 2 better. With book 3 this could have been a great story, except I felt I was reading from parts of "The Walking Dead" thinking was my Author watching ReRuns of TWD as she was writing this last book. Than to kill Lev off just "BAM" have me in tears and just pretty much end the book there. I was pretty mad and disappointed in this Author! This lady could be really good, but I can't decide if she is writing for a TV series or just to pump books out.
Thoughts: So in the first one I thought they figured out that the reason Katie and Cade did not get infected was because they were bitten by the dead or Deaders not an infected or alive person with the illness? This made sense too because of the other guy who had been bit and then got sick but got better (can’t remember his name now). So why now is Katie this magical fully immune to all parts and phases of the virus?
Also, the fact that at the end of book 2 it acts like the end of the series stating how they went to a small colony in the Keys where they were let in…. Then you read this book. They never got to the Keys. Book 2’s ending was wrong and seems like the author forgot how she wrote it when writing this one since they don’t match up.

What a lackluster ending to this trilogy. So much left open, so much that didn't coincide with the ending from Book 2 to the beginning Book 3. I really love the premise of this series too as it's a lot like Walking Dead in a sense. The ending left me irritated. I know sometimes authors like to leave the story open-ended, however it just didn't work for this series...at least not for me.
Wowie, this zombie series has really had me bawling my eyes out. Mind you I have the heart of the grinch but damn if some of these deaths didn’t kill me. This time it was Lev and I honestly 100% did not expect him to die. Poor Nila and her daughter are basically all that’s left from the beginning and I don’t know how they’ll get on without him. Any snippet of hope I or the characters feel is often obliterated savagely and yet I know I’m gonna pick up the next one. Maybe now Nila will finally learn that leaving the property and trying to find people is the absolute worst idea ever. Note, I’m not a fan how these books tend to end in a HFN fashion (with some wrap up remarks) as this then leads to the next book picking it up again (rehashing/re#working) and sometimes going a bit off track like the author wasn’t actually sure when the end would be. It gets annoying but also kinda is partly to blame for me having such false hope.

Honestly, I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised at how well this series has kept up the strong start given it by book 1. Consistently good. I'm still enjoying this completely! Great zombie apocalyptic literature. Great characters. Nice twist on the zombies, still being revealed in some new ways (perhaps).
Getting somewhere. This series has been interesting enough that I’ve enjoyed the story but wow is Nila hard to relate to. I will say, despite the lack of emotion through most of the series thus far, somehow, Nila manages to have an emotional reaction at the end of this book and it broke my heart. I’m happy to see growth but I also wish the author would have put a little more depth into those big emotional scenes instead of jumping right on to the next scene. I think the narration also impacts this and she emotionally shifts tone so fast it’s jarring at points. 3 stars cause I cried at the end. Otherwise, it probably would have been another 2 star rating like the last book.
I really want to love this story. I love apocalyptic fiction, but there’s just too much missing. More depth, more emotion, more passion, and a more intelligent MC would make this into a really incredible story.
Going to keep going with the series cause I truly do want to know how this ends and I can get through despite the lack of depth since these are pretty quick reads. Interested to see where it goes next considering the ending of this book.
I listened the the trilogy on audiobook and the narrator is terrible, especially when she was voicing a male character or reading the chapters that were from Lev's point of view. It was difficult to care about the characters because they made so many stupid choices. Not just leaving the cabin, but going to back to Canada and then going to Florida. Also, there were huge chunks of time that was skipped over.
Every choice Nila made was absolutely ridiculous. She was trying to be a leader, but she just put everyone in danger.
I think the worst part was the amount of time dedicated to trying to figure out the source and cause of the virus. Too much information was given in the first book and the author tried to continue, but because she killed of the one character that was working on the virus. So through out the rest of the story all the characters were making wild, nonsensical theories and made the story drag on.
This could have been a good trilogy, but the author just got in her own way.

It's a good story...however its utterly annoying that the author kills off too many characters way too often. This type of genre is the genre I read most ....and no other series has p!ssed me off as much as this one..didn't even bother with the 4th book.

There was a lot of travelling in this book as Lev, Nila and the rest of the group went in search of safe zones and to see if the virus had died out. It meant that a lot of new characters were introduced, which was a nice change, even if they were only mentioned briefly.
The pacing was good but I did find Nila's need to constantly be moving frustrating. Their cabin was a great place to wait out and survive the virus but Nila kept wanting to leave, despite running into trouble everytime they did.
I was suspicious of The Colony and what they wanted to do with Nila and her daughter so I was glad when they left.
I didn't predict the death of one if the main characters so it was a surprise and it was an emotional scene.
The ending was sad and I'm not sure how everyone will cope
The small group that band together to survive the virus had become a close knit family. Nila and Lev were the beginning of the group. They ended up picking up people along the way by helping them they were in essence helping themselves. We follow them thru crisis after crisis, loosing loved ones only to be picking up more. Being betrayed by people they trusted, only to loose everything they worked so hard for. Just when they thought they had finally reached the end of their journey, the ultimate crisis behold them. Definitely a hard story to put down, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. And have tissues ready cause the tears will fall. Mine did.
The story of Nila, her daughter Katie, and life-long friend Lev, and friends along the way, wandering their way to a temporary respite in Florida continues. After not seeing infected/dead for several months, an outbreak hits them as they rest. As they flee, they are picked up by the Colony, some remnant of govt run city community, and it turns out Nila and her daughter Katie are immune. As with the previous books, the plot thickens every other page and ends on a return to the Cabin, and the grief of another loved one succumbing to the virus.
I find this novel more about the characters and their survival rather than focusing ust on Deaders, Zombies or whatever each group name them, which gives it a more interesting storyline. The evil in some survivors is scarey, but good will generally prevail over evil. More great characters dieing. Some colonies fail but they move on fighting. It will be interesting to see what book 4 brings.
Hope one day the author will continue this series!
This was a wonderful series that drew me in and never let go! I loved the characters and they will be with me for a long time. Although most of the story was wrapped up in satisfying way there was still so many questions left unanswered about the colonies and the immune so I am praying she may revisit my friends again!
For much of this book I was annoyed. I thought the author forgot who her main character was and made her a little annoying, self-absorbed, and whiny, but by the end I think she made her way back. The shocking deaths of some characters are becoming more predictable with each book because they just keep happening.

I ate through this series so fast!!! I am always searching for an apocalypse series and this was was great! Not the typical old story though….many difference which I enjoyed immensely. The characters are likable and the narration was well done. Bravo to the author and now I am back to regular real life books 😞
I am enjoying the series immensely! You keep us riveted on every page, I am looking forward to reading the next book! I was so sad and cried when Levi died, I kept telling myself it’s just a book but here I am crying again! Any i Author that can bring out emotions like that is understatement, outstanding! Thank you so very much!
I loved this book including the first and second book as well, but I have to say, I was not expecting what happened in the end and I honestly couldn’t believe it. It was a great book for sure but. I can’t believe lev dies! I was honestly so mad and he played suck and Important role in the series and now is gone.

Between the end of book 2 and writing this book, the author must have changed her mind because the epilogue doesn't match up but I still loved it. A brilliant addition to the My Dead World series. It is a fast-paced page-turner and it makes for a tune-out of reality because it is unputdownable.
I had to give it a 3 instead of the 4 i wanted to because my favorite character died... This was a good one. i totally kept saying why do you keep on moving around... god and see this is the consequence! i hate it that they died .. i have to keep reading to see what else goes on. i hope the military guy joins them next book.
Giving this one less star because she killed off my favorite character. The author was developing the love story between Nila and Lev and then just kills him off wtf I’m so pissed. It would’ve made for a better story to keep the two of them in a slow romance. Now I don’t really want to read the next two books. It can’t be any better without Lev 😡

I started to read this but then I accidentally saw a spoiler and now I’m not reading it. That seems ridiculous but the second book irritated me but the ending worked. Now I see it’s going to get all jacked up and irritate me again so I’m not putting myself through it.
I was so sad at the end of the book , I didn't want lev to die . It was so out of the blue Aswell it didn't even build up to it to give me chance to come to terms with it . One minute he was fit and well next minute he's got the virus . I cannot accept it .

This one will have you absolutely on the edge of your seat as our apoliptic family struggle through a world devistated , where those who try to help hurt more and finally to a climatic ending that will leave you reeling !
The first 70% of this book was a lot tamer than the previous two books, with our characters finding a variety of safe spaces. But then it took off like a rocket, with every moment filled with violent action. And an ending that was so difficult that my heart broke.
