Outlines a church's assignment to members of its congregation by where each was given $100 with which to further God's kingdom outside, and shares the many successes and life-changing events that ensued.
Really easy to read, packed full of true-life stories, inspirational and motivational.
This is the story of a pastor who gave away a $100 bill to one hundred people in this church with the instructions that, first, the money did not belong to them, it was God's; second, they were instructed to invest the money in a way that would extend God's kingdom; third, they were to report back in 90 days with the results of their investment.
Denny struggled to find 100 volunteers. In fact, in his first service, there was just one and he had to "volunteer" 24 more, until - across four services - he had the hundred. However, once people had accepted the weight of responsibility on them - and all testified to that sudden sense - they began to pray and look for ways to advance God's kingdom in some way.
The resulting stories are as varied as they are immensely encouraging and inspirational. Not wanting to be left out, some children in the church asked to be involved - and so were given $25 to invest in projects they felt God laid on their hearts.
The project became national news as church-goers went out, many reluctantly, to do practical things that expressed their faith.
A member of our church donated money to start this project. After getting $100 from church to use for God. I wanted to find out more about this "kingdom assignment". This is a wonderful idea, to change the world in a positive way. Very quick and easy read.
The book is a report on giving 100 members $100 and the challenge and outcomes of reaching out to their community. Great idea and God used it to wake individuals up to serving in new and novel ways.
