The invaders are at the gates. Lunar Abyss, the seventh book in the Oblivion series, is a high-octane, action-packed blast that will leave military science fiction fans hungry for more!
Ben Saito is looking for his father among the Shapeless
Ada, LeFay and Congo are fighting both the AIC and the Shapeless as they try to find a way to defeat them and send them all to the Void they worship. The space battle between the AIC and UEF is approaching Earth, ever closer to overwhelming defenses around the original home of mankind. Still trying to find a way to defeat the Shapeless and send them into the Abyss, our original characters fight the enemy from somewhere beyond, somewhere around a ball of oily black. Somehow we still have a few survivors to carry the storyline along where it finds to bring our favorites to its inevitable conclusion. We're almost there. One more short volume to complete this series. Keeping the few remaining characters alive is going to be difficult, but I have confidence in the authors to wind it all up soon. This is still a good read.
Received as an ARC, this is an honest reviews. There may be finally a way to put and end to the malicious reign of terror caused by the Shapeless and the Oblivion cult; as Ben discovers by the use of a unique stone. He may be able to save his father from the torture by the Shapeless; not only that but a massive army of AIC ships shows the war the Shapeless thought to have won is not over... by a long shot. Ada, Tomas, Lefay and their pirate team have reached Europa and fall into hell brought on Lefay's ex Darren (a brilliant back story deepens Lefay' s character and their relationship with a touch of humor.) Lee Saito learns from an alien that too had been freed by Ben knowledge of the Shapeless that are the key to ending it all against their enemies. Another wild run that has one hell of a brilliant last stand that will leave you breathless. Highly recommended.
**** SPOILER ALERT **** In "Enter Oblivion: Oblivion // Book Seven" Young and James pick up where they left off in Book Six. The authors continue doing a superb job of world building and character development. I particularly liked the character development of Lee Saito and LeFay. I have enjoyed this series from Page One of Book One to Page Last of this installment. As soon as I am able, I am going to read Book Eight. Each book is gripping, action packed, and tells a whale of a tale in each entertaining page turner. In the interest of transparency, I was given a review copy of this book and I am voluntarily giving this review. It is my own honest opinion.
There is light at the end of the tunnel... I hope. While the non-stop action continues, there are a few more human/emotional stories told in this episode, and not just through the manipulation of the "Pale man". Ben and his "father" are re-united, and all does not go the aliens way. I look forward to seeing the various threads of the tapestry that is the Oblivion series come together, and this chapter of the story introduces some hope in what has seemed a hopeless situation. I received an ARC and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.
This is a much shorter book than I was expecting, but man, was it packed with a lot of action. LeFay, Clarissa, Tomas, Ada and the others are fighting for their lives, first as captured pirates, then by UEF and AIC fighters. Ben and Lee Saito end up on an enemy dreadnaught, but Lee is in a stasis pod. Was Ben able to destroy the Shapeless enough to create a difference in things? And what has happened to Detective Rowan Sydal and his son, Matthew on the Moon? Joshua James and Daniel Young have done such a wonderful job of keeping this story moving all the time. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
What a great storyline just a shame you killed off most of the team lol.. Ben and Lee need to catchup with Ada and Clarissa to go luck some butt lol looking forward to the next book
In this, the seventh book of the series, the action continues non-stop. The AIC forces are mounting an attack on the UEF base on Europa, where our AIC team of Asa, LeFay, Clarissa and Tomas are trying to find and destroy the planet-killer weapon. However, since they are viewed as pirates, they have to fight off both forces. On the Earth’s Moon, Detective Sydal, while worrying that his wife’s odd behavior means she has been changed into a different creature, is called to investigate a strange death. He begins to expose the darker forces in play and becomes a target. As he tries to escape capture, he stumbles across the Shapeless beginning to apprehend very young and very old humans, those unable to be used as slaves, probably to exterminate them. He knows he needs to get his family off the moon ASAP. Ben Saito has managed to free himself and his father as his captors are distracted by the AIC attack. Will everyone come through this safely? I received an advance copy and wound up buying a copy to support these great authors. I’m eager to find out what happens next!
Ride just keeps holding me hostage until I can finish this adventure
Guys, keep up with this rollercoaster you've tied me to. I can't believe how good this story telling is. Time to order the next book. Will be back shortly.
