Sapphire has only just begun to learn Vanhine’s secrets... now she must race to save them!

On her eighteenth birthday, misfit Sapphire Smyth discovered mysterious creatures hiding in the shadows, and when she touched them, she found she had the power to bring them to life. But some of those creatures are more dangerous than she first imagined, and she must now learn how to control her new abilities - fast!

After discovering Vanhine, a wondrous island hidden from the rest of the world, Sapphire feels like she might finally have found somewhere she could belong. Her best friend, Ben, has connections to the Trilleki, a secretive group of people with powers like Sapphire's. The only problem is that at least one of those people is trying to reveal Vanhine's secrets to the outside world, threatening the lives of everyone on the island.

Sapphire must work out who she can trust, or everything in Vanhine could be destroyed.

R. J. Furness has been passionate about great stories since he was able to read. At an early age, he would frequently create new characters, worlds and creatures, then write crazy tales all about them. However, until now, he has always kept those ideas completely secret. After having a lifelong interest in animals, music and anything spawned from pure imagination, R.J.’s first love are now his wife and children. Over time, he has also developed an overwhelming desire for mugs of tea and good biscuits to dunk. He lives in Southport, England, with his family, a dog and several fish, chickens and quails.

This continues on in Sapphires journey and again, she’s learning about herself and this world that she’s discovering and becoming a part of. These shadows and drakes and everything else she learning about, these skills that she’s trying to develop and learn through practices and through friends, and though this title may give it away, enemies! She has talents and skills that are unlike most, and see only by few, and they weren’t the best of people.

During this instalment, we see enemies trying to cause havoc and destruction because of Armageddon. We get some back story in this instalment, which we’ve been waiting for, about Sapphire’s Mother and about what happened to her and why it happened. But this book also ended on a massive cliffhanger!! We got to meet a new character and new topics and other discussions were brought up and it started some cigs turning. There’s not many books left in this series and I’m so interested to see how this series is going to end.

I came across this book and thought it sounded like a fun adventure. At the time I didn't know how tied into its series it is. Much like when scrolling through channels and come across an intriguing show you can't turn away. I CAN'T WAIT to see what happens next. And I am going back to the beginning and finding out everything I missed. Though I missed three parts, it still catches and holds onto you. And leaves you searching for more.
