What do you do when your world falls apart BRUTALLY???? Take REVENGE!!!!
Mike Sartain was born of a spoiled dove and then abandoned, having to fend for himself he was taught how to fight and survive by the toughest that hit the New Orleans port. Being the cute guy that he was he was adopted by all the doves of the French Quarter and learned from the best in the world how to care for a woman. But this did not save his beloved! She was brutally raped and murdered along with her gentle grandfather. When he found them, he also found his aborted child lying beside her. Mike found each and every one of the Bluecoat Yankee soldiers that did this and took his REVENGE. But because of this, he has become a man with a REWARD on his head, so every lawman, money-hungry person, and bounty hunters are after him. Now he has devoted his life to helping others to get past some of the pain by finding and taking his REVENGE over and over again. His pain never ends nor does his help to others. This omnibus contains some of the stories of those that cannot take their revenge and how Mike does it for them.
What did I like? Besides the fact that Mike Sartain is a handsome, sexy, western character with a heart of gold, I loved the idea that he devoted his life to helping others with no payment other than his chance to feel a little better each time but never completely! Makes you want to make things better for him and ooooh…. To be made better by his loving touch!!!!!
What will you like? Well written and researched with the action kicked up so high that you will be holding your breath in some and crying in others. The descriptions and details are over the top and are so good that you feel like your riding right beside him. The love scenes are tender and beautiful with little touches that make them wonderful to read. His emotions ride so high and his love for his horse, Boss is so touching. All in all, I loved reading this omnibus and hope the author will pen more in the future if so I will be adding them to my library. Mike Sartain becomes a Revenger !
This book has a dozen or so short stories about a War Veteran (1865) who suffers the loss of his wife and child at the hands of murderous bandits. Devastated, he decides to dedicate his life to eliminating the perpetrators who injure people who the Law of the Wild West at that time would not prosecute or the injured folks did not have the skills to exact justice for themselves. Each short story is filled with plenty of action and detail to not feel like a short story. Any lover of western lore from the mid to late 1800s will enjoy this series.

Mike Sartain knows about pain. Severelyu wounded in the war, he is nursed back to health by an old man and his granddaughter. When they are murdered by some rogue soldiers, he starts to learn about revenge. He deals with those murdering scum and then goes on a mission to help others in need. He asks no payment so he can choose the most worthy cases. Very good stories.

Whew
Didn't think I would make it through the whole book. I did and it was worth it. Had trouble putting it down at times. The Revenger is an excellent hero , unlike what I was used to but a refreshing change. I was rooting out loud at times. Worthwhile read.

Captivating
Excellent author, great imagination, and story teller. Never a dull moment reading his books! Get lost in the wild west as it was in the 18hundreds. Keep writing Mr. Brandvold, I love your books!

Never realized I was receiving a multitude of Ben Stillman, when I purchased this novel,but each and everyone of the stories are exceptionally worthy of recognition. A never ending detailed extravaganza of shootouts and bodies littering the frontier as the vengeance of the Avenger fulfilled his conviction on the bad guys!
Each and every story, as related in this outstandingly suspenseful series of events, is five stars worthy, and the suspenseful episode unravels a new adventure of Ben Stillman's desire to feed the West of its trashy underlings. Great job by Mr. Brandvold, as he definitely crossed all of his T's and dotted all of his I'd in these compassionate storytelling masterpieces.
Great compilation of outstanding, and very descriptive, storylines from beginning to end. Too the grizzly selection of characters definitely portrayed their assigned roles in an extraordinarily descriptive rendition of their assigned roles! There were some magical moments of outstanding accomplishments that really sets these stories apart from the normal hum drum western folklore adventures. Never a dull moment when the Avenger starts to fulfill his obligation of ridding his area of the vilest villains he is asked to annihilate! Interesting? Yes! Blood and guts? Yes! Interesting? Very! Worthy of your time? Most definitely!
Recommend this outstanding western masterpiece? Definitely, without a doubt these stories are very descriptive, with unbelievably heartwarming results. Your loss, if you don't take the time to follow Ben, as he meanders across the old West removing the vermin that kills the innocent, while feathering their pockets along the way. Thrilling and exciting a great book to read
The author of this book did a wonderful job he kept you in suspense through every page and chapter of each sequence involved every story involved in the book has been enjoyable and very imaginative in every way possible the book would definitely be one I would recommend to anyone who enjoys western novels even though the book was quite long I enjoyed every story involved in it because each one was different in its own way and you never know which way it was going to turn in order to come to a climax very impressed and enjoyed it very much

A PB Collection of Revenger Novellas (TR)
ON had penned a collection of Revenger Novellas about his exploits throughout the Southwestern parts of the future United States. His purpose in life is to ride an assistance in need of help. The stories are excellent and some would make excellent novels. ON had definitely put forth the effort to please his readers. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Two storylines in all these stories
The first one I rate 5 stars.the Revenger helping people who can't help themselves. the second is how many lonely female conquests the revenger can get in each story. I know that he doesn't want to disappoint any of them but most of them are not professional ladies of the night. I wonder how many little Revengers are running around and maybe in your next Revengers book they can all have a big family reunion.

User of women. The revenger and Boss, his horse, mount every female in sight. Usually like PB's books; this one I gave 2 stars for effort. Violence is over the top, especially against women. There are no h in the stories. The women have no self-worth or "sand". The H is self-serving and uses the women as a means to an end to get the bad guys. Pass this one by if you are a seeker for a good western novel with a decent story.

Wanted to read some good old fashioned westerns - picked this up based on the blurb and cover - I liked it a whole bunch - each story was self contained, but I felt like I was missing something....had to look and see if there were more - trying out his other series now - give this one a try, its excellent

Couldn't finish this book
I've enjoyed other books by this author, but not this one. I'm disappointed that the author felt the need to have the "hero" screw every woman he came across!
If you can't tell a story without this kind of filler you need to start over.

A really nice set of Western tales with good plots while being interesting and exciting. What makes them enjoyable is the fact that the bad guys receive quick justice while appropriately suffice!

Blood, Guts and Sex
These vignettes were filled with bloody gun fights and sex. The detailed descriptions were a bit overwhelming for me. I think the author could have made his point differently.
