A small town rodeo is the backdrop for this amusing, quixotic work of short fiction. Michael Bivins, a Los Angeles based corporate lawyer, arrives in Carrolton, Oklahoma to attend his mother's funeral. He wants it over. He wants no part of her isolated, lonely, perhaps sordid and disreputable life. But that is not to be. Instead, he is confronted with a dark tale of love, hate, anger, jealousy and murder. With the dust, blood and bared teeth of the Grand Celebration of Cowboy Play and Ranch Activities in the background, Michael Bivins learns that life's tortuous path isn't always predictable.Keep tongue planted firmly in cheek.
