Not trying to be a contrarian over here, but I appreciated the poetic style of the text on these flaps and theslightly different readings each time that they flaps created. Reminded me of poetic forms with repeating words or lines, like a pantoum/villanelle. Some picture books can be a little stylistic prose-wise, it's okay!
This is a hard book to read. You kind of don't know where to go and it isn't intuitive. That being said my kiddo LOVES to play with it. It's been her favorite "toy" for days now. She just loves turning the pages. So, 3 star rating. Only okay book, but comes with hours of entertainment.
I’m with the consensus— difficult to read aloud, after several different readings I’m still not sure how it’s intended to be read. Illustrations are cute enough and it’s a fun book for littles to participate in turning the pages. Other than that, meh.
