Okay so Lorena, (heroine) is kinda getting on my nerves now with her stubbornness and being hardheaded sheesh, like for real I need her to get a damn clue already.. I'm going into the 3rd book now and I need to see some growth from this character and I need things to move along because I'm seriously over this slow burn crap.

more questions than answers

I think it’s weird that they’re called brothers, since one is in love with another.

Lorena’s mind does better when she talks it out? How? She doesn’t have any friends and barely speaks to her father.

I’m having a hard time with Lorena repeatedly saying that the guys are in love with her when they’ve barely built a relationship with them and the feelings aren’t even remotely reciprocated. Two of her options kind of abruptly are cut off and the option we’re leaning towards kind of comes from no where. So for me the transitions in and out of the potential romantic choices are not done well. Honestly all the guys put a bad taste in her mouth on some way or another.

Did Connie put a love spell on Zane?

Author has thrown a lot of diversity in small town Virginia which is hardly believable. I’m still trying to figure out if she’s giving the black people an accent because they’re from Virginia or because they’re black. I’m leaning towards because they’re black and I’m not here for it.

Quickie 2

I chose this book with only 200 pages. Looked like an easyread and it was! Just like the first in the series. Had to call this one a goodreads and so so quick. I love how this author writes. This author has humor about every page. Love that!

I have now read books 1-7, and here are my thoughts. It was a great idea, but mediocre execution. Many of the plot twists I was able to figure out before they happened. Some story lines are just completely dropped leaving us hanging. And goodness me all the FREAKING TYPOS were like someone used talk to text for the whole book and never went back to check. Overall I found it to mildly entertaining and only went as far as I did because I am stubborn like that.

What just happened? I'm in shock! I have no words for what had happened. This storyline is going no where I thought it would. The deception and violence is harsh. I'm overwhelmed for Lorena. I just don't know where this goes from here.

My only complaint is the narration as was the same for the first book. Poor choice of a narrator for a female lead.

In book 2 of this series, Lorena continues in her quest to learn magic and deciding which of the vampires she wants to be with. Her character is still kind of scattered. Even though this ends in a cliffhanger, the stories were short enough and available through Kindle Unlimited that I am overlooking the cliffhanger part.

Getting better

Once again, I was ready to throw in the towel. This author has a way of giving the reader just enough closure with just enough new information to keep you hooked. I'm ready for the third installment.

Typos and name spellings

The story line is decent. Enough so that I'm going to keep reading. But the spelling of Jaiya/Jiaya and Reika/Reikah changed several times and there were a lot of typos. I don't normally comment but it bugged me so much I felt like I needed to.

This is a long series and if you have not read my first review, please start there.

For this second book. I know for a fact that I would not be handling the mind games the vamp bros are giving her. Not to mention all the other people and their expectations added like a big cherry on top of the world she is carrying on her shoulders already. But handle it she does. She is inquisitive and talented and kind and so many things that the average person is not. I am glad that we got to meet the newest addition to the inner circle at the end, but this cliffy is a heartbeat away from total grief. The only hope I have is the type of which she is, and with a preggo woman on the cover, I am hoping my thoughts are not far away from the fix to this problem. Onward now so we can see what happens next, only 20 more to go!

We join Lorena in this book back at the House of vampires, where she must choose a suitor to fulfill the prophecy. She is a witch amongst Vampires. The four sons of Vlad want her to pick them Alan, the flamboyant unknown man with angelic looks; Dmitri, the moody artist; Zane, the new member of the group and Wei, the martial arts expert as fascinating as he is deadly.

She has a very realistic dream. However, her wake-up is very hot; it seems Wei needs to be on the same page as she is, at least not yet. Lorena's life gets stranger and stranger with realistic dreams, a ghost car, and a broody vampire she seems to care for that fights his feelings.

I appreciate Lorena's heroine attitude, but she does tend to get herself in trouble. Zane turns swoony as Wei gets dismissed, and I can't keep up with the day's flavor and who she ultimately picks. However, Zane's truth is a little harder to bear.

This story gets more fantasy-based than paranormal again, and just as it ends, it gets action-packed but in a different landscape. Lorena is pretty awesome as far as heroines go, but this still didn't solve the who she chose and prophecy; in fact, we aren't any closer than we were at the end of the last book.

I'm interested enough to read the next book, but I'm not in love with this story. It is just too long of a series for me to read, and if each book keeps not solving anything, I would instead read a book I get a resolution in.

I read the first book in this series and was not overly impressed, I made my points about that on here. However I ordered book 2 because the first one ended on a cliff hanger and I had to find out what happened next.
Basically once again the book was not brilliant, but it held my attention and I feel we are finally getting to know the background of some of the main characters, but it is still a long time warming up and I still don't like the rather juevenile female lead character.
Once again this ended on a cliff hanger so I got book 3 (I know, glutton for punishement here) but I am half was through it and have decided cliff hanger or not at the end this is the last one I will read in this series.
Life is too short to plough through over 20 mediocre books

Excitement With A Bite

Well let me start my review with a little bit of a spoiler, not a huge spoiler just a teeny, tiny one. One of my least favorite types of endings is a cliffhanger: you know those abrupt breaks in the story where questions go unanswered, folks are missing and mysteries are not quite solved? Those little annoying literary foibles. House Of Vampires 2 began with alot of promise, following the end of Book 1 and it seemed as if relationships between Lorena and her Vampires were progressing nicely. Suddenly, things in Lorena's life took a turn for the worse, friends became foes and even what was once normal began to appear more bizarre than before.

Story sucks you in!

Ok, yes this is more a ya read then I like, think Twilight or The Vampire Diaries. I love a little sexy times in my reads( BDB, KMM reads)but this author has a way of telling a story that sucks you in ( pun intended)! The characters, the and story is really good. It is a story that builds from one book to the next so yes these have the deadly ( another pun) CLIFFHANGER! Lorena is coming into her own, magic, mayhem, witches, vampires and even a ghost cat bring life to this read! Free with K.U. Good stories this time of year!

House of Vampires 2 (book 2) by Samantha Snow is a 4 ⭐️ read.
Lorena Quinn is still trying to figure out if she wants to be part of the prophecy and chose a vampire to have a baby with, the one she wants to be with wants her just as much but is pushing her away. Her mother and her strange cults are still trying to make her sister the person the prophecy is about, so are trying to get to Lorena to stop her from having a child.
I really enjoyed this book, it was a little hotter than the last one and kept my attention enough that I want to keep reading to find out how it ends.

house of vampire 2

Wow just wow
So much has happened and this author continues to wow us even more. What an amazing second part to this series. Who would have thought that she would go through so much and wei loves her but is scared to take the chance. Now he is missing and she was is told that he is now dead. I can not wait for the 3rd part to find out if she will be able to save him. The love of her life because deep down she knows she loves him just as much as he loves her.

I am enjoying this series and I am currently reading book 11. I just want anyone wanting to read this series to know they will have to look past all the errors in the books. Many many misspelled words, character names mixed up or completely wrong. I thought maybe it would only be in the first few books. .unfortunately it only seems to be getting worse. I am enjoying the books too much to stop reading them. I really wish the books would have been proof read before being published. If you can look past the mistakes the books are quite enjoyable.

It has my attention in a good way. Fortunately it is not a reverse harem (hate those). Lots of speculation over who is helpful to a little witch with no previous knowledge she was a witch and no skills. Now she has a prophecy to fulfill or not and decisions to make. Vampires who are the sons of Vlad show temperaments that are more monster than appealing to a girl raised in the human world. Dream walking cult leaders, and letters from your dead grandmother who was a seer warning there is someone near you who will betray you. Its’s a convoluted tale.

My thoughts:
Honestly… won't be finishing this series. New characters were added, another part of the plot added with a “cult twist”, FMC still hasn’t chosen her “mate” to fulfill the prophecy. FMC continues to go back and forth on who she would want to choose, when she does finally choose it’s in a rush and kind of from left field.

Book ends on a little bit of a cliffhanger which makes me want to read the third book, but honestly the plot and story just does not flow and its still hard for this series to keep my attention.

This series was recommended to be via Kindle Unlimited…it’s been pretty tough to get through. There’s no real progression in the book, and no growth from the main character or the Vlad brothers. The writing style is immature and maybe that’s because the protagonist is 20 years old. I didn’t realize this series had about 7 books to it. I wanted to keep up with it to see “what would happen,” but I can’t read 4 more books like this.

Better and better

After finishing book one this morning I downloaded books 2 & 3. Book 2 picks up where the first book left off and Lorena is still torn over who to be with. After she starts being attacked in her dreams, she needs to figure out who she can trust...before it’s too late! Loved it and starting book 3 right now!

Nice Read!

I enjoyed reading this book, but I feel like Lorena is too immature at times. She knows that the Order wants her dead, but she's not doing what she should to truly protect herself. Without giving too much away, I will just say that she should have stayed put! I think everyone who reads this book will enjoy it!

Holy Magic Batman

This story just keeps getting better and better! I actually feel so sorry for Lorena...I mean her Dad kept her heritage from her, also didn't tell her that her mother was really a bad "witch" oh no wizard!!
Now she's fighting in her dreams to live and get the rest she needs. She also doesn't know who she's supposed to trust! On to the next!!!

Second book much better than the first

I can almost forget the heroine is supposed to be 19. I am more invested in the story now and enjoy the slow burn and tease of sexual release. If there is actually a sex scene I almost feel it will be too cheesy to read, hoping not…..lol- I enjoyed this book and will read 3.

I don't know 🙀

It took me a long time to finish this book 😕. It seemed to get lost along the way and so did I 😣. It picked up at the end and I started to get into the story, so now I have a decision to make 🤔. Do I try another book or just give up 😲. Thanks again Samantha, I think that I'm going to try the next book and hope it keeps getting better 🤓.

Interesting story

The plot is mostly engaging. If a little flighty at times. I've been reading too many fast burn stories recently and the slow build up of this story has me slightly disengaged but that is not the fault of this particular story. I'll continue to read the series to see where it will lead .

Wow. loved this

What an amazing continuation of the first book. I couldn’t put this down.
We start where book 1 left us.
Lorena is confused. She still hasn’t chosen a son to mate with.
We go on a journey with this book and find a few additions to the team. Packed full to bursting with everything needed to make a fantastic read.
I’m heading to book 3

I'm with the other reviewers in being devastated that her favorite isn't in the picture any more, but the book was fabulous. It kept you on the edge of your seat, reading and anticipating throughout. The author did her job well by making us want to read the next book in the series to find out WHY. It's late, but I just HAVE to start the next book....now.
