I'm a wife and a mother to a beautiful 7 year old and active 4 year old . I love to cook, but as crazy busy as my life is, the slow cooker is my life-saver! My passion for developing recipes started at a young age when my grandma taught me and my cousins to cook. During my college years, I began to experiment on my own and as I entered the work force, my creativity really developed. My second cookbook, The Gluten-Free Slow Cooker will be released on Oct. 1, but it available for presale wherever books are sold now. My first cookbook, Slow Cooker Recipes 10 Ingredients or Less and Gluten-Free is available for sale online. In addition to writing cookbooks, I teach Elementary Music, I'm a Young Living Essential Oils Educator and a blogger. Am I crazy busy...or just crazy? Yes, but I love living my life the way I'm living it!
Easy recipes with appetizing photos of the finished dish
I have other “Fix-It and Forget-It” cookbooks on hand but this one is a great addition to the series. The illustrations are a big plus and the sections are logically organized. Other older books in the series seemed padded with overly-similar recipes, but this collection includes more unique, but still very easy, dishes.
Easy straightforward recipes with easy to obtain ingredients. I love using the crockpot for chicken and all the recipes we’ve had so far have been delicious.
Just Like all the other Fix it, Forget it cookbooks. I think some of the recipes can be found in other Fix it Forget it cookbooks. I just highlighted a few recipes to try. I really didn't need to add this book to my other fix it cookbooks.
A whole lot of recipes to try, 3 star rating! While I definitely appreciate the simplicity of the recipes, I also sense that less ingredients means that the richness and complexity of taste is compromised. On the plus side there is a tremendous amount of variety & ease here and a lot appear to be low fat.
I have made the Sweet n Sour Chicken, but based on another recipe, added a green & red pepper, an onion, garlic & ginger. It was ok but not as good as stovetop, it seemed overcooked.
Next I would like to try the Cranberry Chicken BBQ/Cranberry Chicken (these two are virtually the same, minus the carrots), for Thanksgiving instead of turkey. I have already bought the Cranberry Sauce in anticipation.
So far, I may consider trying the following with some additional ingredients, like an onion or garlic, a pepper or two; ginger etc.
Chicken Cacciatore With Green Peppers Chicken Parmigiana Come Back For More BBQ Chicken Tangy Chicken Legs Raspberried Chicken Drumsticks Chicken, Sweet Chicken Orange Glazed Chicken Breasts; Chicken a l’Orange; Orange Chicken & Sweet Potatoes & Orange Chicken Leg Quarters Chicken Made Easy One Dish Chicken Supper Chicken With Broccoli Rice Honeyed Chicken Greek Chicken Marcy’s BBQ Chicken Honey Balsamic Chicken, Split Pea With Chicken Soup & White Chicken Chili.
There are almost too many to choose from. I may buy the book after I get around to actually trying a few first, just in case they’re not that great. I have to repeatedly keep taking this out from the library all over again once my renewing capacity has reached its limit. I have only tried one recipe in one and a half years! I will be checking the list later from time to time to see how many of these recipes I have actually made. I think that if they were a little more complex, I’d be more inspired.
This cookbook was so uninspiring. It had duplicates of a lot of recipes with a slight variation based on who submitted it. I also found like Bc the pictures were user submitted they weren’t very appetizing at times.
