Admittedly, I don’t watch much TV, but one of my guilty pleasures is 90 Day Fiancé. I just love it. The Confetti Pact reminded me so much of that show, and here’s why.

Nelly is a social media influencer in the spotlight with her upcoming wedding. When her fiancé flakes on her, she has to find someone else, right? Enter Rafael Moreno Cortes, who happens to need a visa. It’s perfect! And no one will know the secret! But, then, Nelly’s ex comes back into the picture, just as Nelly begins to have real feelings for Rafael.

The Confetti Pact is pure fun and a great escape from real life. I enjoyed every minute with it, and it was a great excuse to buy cupcakes!

I received a gifted copy.

I really enjoyed this cute book! This was my first time reading a book by Lilly Bartlett (aka Michele Gorman) and it won't be my last. I had such a fun time reading this! It's about social media star Nelly Roberts. Her fiance leaves her because he's not ready to get married. She's got alot on the line with a magazine she's got a contract with to promote her, and her instagram. She needs a fiance ASAP. She meets Rafael, who just so happens to need a Visa so he can stay in the country! So they come up with an idea!  Can they fake a relationship? You'll have to read to find out. Oooh and btw…. Mr fiance comes back into the picture. So will Nelly want him back, or is she actually developing feelings for Rafael??

This was a great little romcom! Its a quick read, that left me happy! It was quite funny at times I gotta say. The writing was nice, I enjoyed the characters and the plot! If you enjoy chick lit and romcoms like Sophie Kinsella, or Jane Green then I really think you'd like this book! You can get this book on February 12!!

Thank you Michele Gorman (aka Lilly Bartlett) for this e-copy to review! All opinions are my own!

This adorable book has several of my favorite things; a fake relationship, wedding planning, a witty heroine, and British charm. 😍 This author is one of my go tos when I want an entertaining escape that I can lose myself in for a few hours, her books would be perfect vacation reads and this was no exception. The characters were all amusing and fun, lots of silliness and some really hilarious scenes and I finished this one with a smile on my face. Definitely check this one if you like Sophie Kinsella, there’s a similar vibe and it was just pure entertainment.

A fake wedding, an ex-fiancé, an annoying best friend... What could go wrong?
I loved it! It's perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella.

This is my first book Lilly Bartlett (aka Michele Gorman). I had fun time reading this book.
It is a romantic Comedy featuring a bride and a missing groom.

Nelly is an Instagram influencer who is heartbroken when her fiancé announces that he is not ready to get married.

Nelly is meeting up with Jenny, a friend from the magazine which has paid off her wedding and running a special about her big wedding day. Jenny brings a Colombian friend called Rafael. Who’s in need of visa or there is a risk that he will be deported soon.

Nelly doesn’t want to lose the contract and sees Rafael as an opportunity to still get featured on the magazine. Thus, she offers Rafael a deal to marry him. She calls it a business transaction Once this deal is made Matt (Nelly’s ex-fiancé) returns in hop of having her back.

I found this book funny and enjoyed it.

Many thanks to Lilly Bartlett (aka Michele Gorman) for the ARC.

I was given this book to read by the author Lilly Bartlett for a guaranteed fuzzy, loving, happily ever after and this fit the bill perfectly.

The Confetti Pact is simply perfect for an quiet evening romcom book sat on the sofa with a tub of ice cream. Nelly is hilarious - I feel like I need to hashtag my feelings and find myself my own Rafael “swoon” 😍

The story itself is fairly simple and it is definitely the characters that makes this great. Mab needs a slap - whilst I understand she’s Rafaels bestie, she’s catty and needs to back off (Rafael is blind!). Matt is honestly a psycho! Nelly was saved that sorrow for sure! How can Martha thing his whole charade is adorable? Its deranged and egotistical 😂🙈

I did enjoy the whole concept of the story, its a dun entertaining read and all the wedding planning bits were really cute. Definitely one of the ladies who love weddings and have had experience organising their own!

I needed something light to read, and this was the perfect fit! The Confetti Pact is about a social media star, Nelly, who is dumped by her fiance close to her wedding date and needs to find a new husband to fit that slot for the magazine feature that is covering the wedding. Enter Rafael, who needs a visa to continue living in the UK, and so begins a marriage scheme that seems to benefit both parties--until both of their exes conspire to break up the wedding! It's a quick romcom novella at its finest, and I will surely be looking for more from Michele Gorman!

What a great rom com for Valentine's Day week!

I really enjoyed this story and I'm not a big lover or romance books. This one though is very Sophie Kinsella and Bridget Jones like.

Imagine you are an Influencer, still building your brand. You're planning for your wedding day and a big magazine picks up your story. It's a perfect opportunity for you until your groom backs out. He takes off for Spain and dumps you in an email. Yet, you've already spent the check. What are you going to do?

That's the dilemma Nelly faces when a miracle happens. A gorgeous Colombian colleague of hers needs to get married. His green card is running out and he's going to need to leave England and the life he's built there unless he gets married. Nelly needs a groom and he needs a green card. This is the perfect solution...that is, until the former groom shows up and does a WTF?

All of a sudden he wants to marry Nelly and will do anything to stop her from going forward with marrying the hot Colombian.

I loved following these two as they planned for their big day. It's literally an English clashes with Colombian mismatch that turns out working out even more beautifully than they could imagine.

I will say the thing I loved most about this story is Rafael. He really makes you sigh and say, boy, I hope this is real. He says the most incredible things. I mean, this is what I wish someone would say to me. It's just so passionate and filled with love...and REAL.

The only thing I didn't like about the story was Matt constantly showing up and interfering with their wedding planning. If it were me, I would have blocked Matt's phone number, so he couldn't get in touch with me. I would have loudly pronounced, "NO, I WILL NOT MARRY YOU" for the world to witness. I kept thinking...why in the world is Nelly allowing him to contact her? I'm just glad she realized that Matt just wasn't the one. Not showing up for Christmas would have been the deal breaker for me.

This is a short novel, but you will love every single step of the way for Nelly and Rafael.

I was excited to check this read out because I was due for something light and fun. And light, fun, and fluffy is exactly how I would describe this book. It’s another one that is perfect for your beach bag this spring/summer when you just want something fun and aren’t going to be analyzing too much.

When Nelly’s fiancée Matt tells her last minute, that she needs space, she is devastated. She’s also slightly panicked because she can’t afford to pay back advances she’s received as an influencer. So meeting Rafael who needs a ticket to stay in the country is the perfect recipe for making everything work out just fine. And who doesn’t love the fake lovers trope? This one had some parts that made me chuckle and gave me some Sophie Kinsella vibes. I did feel like parts of the story could’ve been better developed and I wasn’t really sure how the title connects to the story. Nelly also drove me bonkers with her constant need for Instagram-worthy photos, but maybe this is how lifestyle influencers really are 💁🏻‍♀️ Additionally, I would’ve loved to hear more from Rafael because things happened so quickly with him that I wasn’t super certain about his feelings. That said, it was an entertaining story.

Again, if you’re not going to overanalyze and just want a fun read, this would most likely do the trick for ya!

Thank you to the author for my gifted copy!

This is the perfect cheesy romance book to start of February. I only say cheesy because it gave me ALL. THE. FEELS. I felt how I normally do watching my favorite rom coms on Netflix and honestly- I’m 100% here for it. It has all the components of a great romance book and I’m 100% here for it. ⁣
⁣⁣
4/5 because of how in love I felt! ⁣if rom coms are your thing- add this to your list! The only reason why it’s not 5 stars is because the ending was a little too perfect for me. I expected a dash more tea at the end. Overall- still an excellent read! ⁣

This book comes out February 12th!

I did receive a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a review but all opinions are my own.

Summary:
Nelly Roberts is an Instagram influencer and is about to have the most gorgeous wedding paid off by a magazine that’s running a special about her and her big day. That’s when her fiancé dumps her and leaves her in the dust. Luckily for her, her friend needs a visa to to stay in the UK, and Nelly hatched a plan that lets him stay in the country and let’s her keep her fancy all expenses paid wedding. But when her feelings towards Rafael start to feel a little bit too real, can she really go through with the fake wedding?

My thoughts:
This was just a super fun read! I just kept flipping through trying to see what crazy shenanigans Nelly got herself into next. Just when you thought she couldn’t dig herself in any deeper, she does. I’ve been reading some heavier books this month and this was just the pick to help boost my mood and make me smile.

I do think the ending was a smidge rushed and tied up in a neat little bow a little *too* perfectly, which is why I gave it the rating that I did. But I know that some people don’t mind a perfect little happy ending so I’d still recommend this for fans of Sophie Kinsella or Meg Cabot.

Thank you to Lilly Bartlett for the free copy of this book for an honest review.

This was such a cute book. I flew through it in a day! It was a nice light-hearted read in between some heavier books I've read lately. It's the trope of "pretend to love someone and then actually fall in love with them", one of my favorites!

Nelly gets left by her fiance after he decides that he isn't ready to get married. Heartbroken, Nelly meets up with a friend from work, who brings along a Columbian hunk, Rafael. During their conversation, it so happens that Rafael needs a visa or risks being deported very soon. Not wanting to lose her contract with a magazine to promote Nelly, her wedding, and her Instagram, she sees an opportunity. Nelly offers to Rafael a deal. Soon after a deal has been made, Nelly's fiance, Matt, regrets leaving Nelly and wants her back, duh.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I do wish that the ending had a little more of a "bang" to it. But, I really thought the writing was well done and I enjoyed the conversations between the characters. There were times where I legit LOLed and had to read the sentence to my fiance because I found it that funny! If you're into Sophia Kinsella, this is a book for you!

When Nelly’s fiancé Mark puts a hold on their wedding plans, he flees to Spain to “think” and then... dump Nelly. Over e-mail. As a social media influencer and with a magazine already booked to cover her wedding, she doesn’t cancel it and instead initiates an engagement to another man—Rafael, a colleague whose visa is expiring. Surely enough, Mark re-enters Nelly’s life professing his love for her. What could possibly go wrong? Right?

Don’t go looking for a slow burn or a careful development of characters. This novella is straight cut, quick and easy, silly with a side of romance and drama. If you need a break from serious, dense reads, you may want to give this a try to lift your spirits. If I’m being honest though, I didn’t quite hit it off with Nelly; I found her super annoying. And, I didn’t think she had any real chemistry with this Rafael fellow. The storyline had great potential, and I am a little bummed it fell a little flat for me. This surely doesn’t mean you’d feel the same way!

Many thanks to the author for sending me this e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a quick refreshing read for me. I finished this book in one day and enjoyed being able to relax that long.

Nelly is working hard trying to make her side job her full time job. In doing so she managed to get a deal with a magazine for her wedding to be paid for as long as she lets them follow her around and write about it.

Nelly is marrying the love of her life Matt. Nelly is super excited as the wedding gets closer. That is until Matt decides to take a holiday without her. Nelly is quiet confused and upset by what is going on so she keeps it under wraps until she can figure it out.

Nelly is hoping to the have the wedding of her dreams but with Matt on holiday she isn't sure that is going to happen. She is stuck in a rough spot and trying to figure out what she needs to do to make things work out for the best.

Nelly and the help of a few friends decides she can pull this all together and make everything workout just fine. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a light hearted read, that has love, humor, and a touch of suspense in it.

Didn't enjoy the ending

I really liked the author's writing style. I enjoyed the concept behind the book, the storyline and the characters. I just wished the ending was handled differently: it feels like it was rushed and some plot holes where left behind. What's the backstory with Rafael and Mabs? Mabs clearly disliked Nelly throughout the book, are we really supposed to believe they start getting along at the very end? After Nelly actually marries Rafael, after we've been led to believe Mabs is in love with him? It just makes no sense. Why don't we get a clarification of what Rafael told Nelly on the tube, when she couldn't hear him and clearly misunderstood what he was telling her?
And then, what happens with the visa? Will they actually get to be together?
I was really disappointed when I realized I was on the last page and so many things were being left unanswered.
I would probably read another book by the author as I really enjoyed her style, but not sure I'd recommend this one.

Aspiring social media influencer, Nelly, has everything on track to finally make it big - perfect fiancé, perfect wedding, and the wedding will be covered by a huge magazine feature. Everything is going great until her fiancé breaks up with her and heads to Spain. Now Nelly has to find a new groom and fast. Enter Rafael, a coworker in need of a visa. The two make a deal to go through with the wedding so that they both get what they want. Surely everything will go smoothly, right?

I enjoy the fake relationship trope and thought the premise of this novella sounded super cute. Unfortunately, it just came up a bit short for me. I personally didn't feel much of the chemistry between Nelly and Rafael and found Nelly herself to be a bit of an annoying character. This is one where I think I really would have liked to also have Rafael's POV in the story. That said, I think this one has potential for others to really enjoy it. If you're someone looking to add a little romance to their February reads, I'd recommend giving this one a try.

I was in the mood for a fun and lighthearted read and this one really hit the spot! This enteraining hybrid of a friends to lovers and fake lovers trope kept me thoroughly engaged in this story.

For most people, weddings are supposed to be a special day. When Nelly agrees to broadcast her wedding preparations via social media in order to gain as many likes and follows as possible, things don't go as smoothly as planned. She has to decide if it's worth it even if it involves her heart.

The relevance of this story in today's world of social media obsession, is one of the reasons I enjoyed this one. Although it didn't dive too deep into any particular character, it was a quick, fun read that kept me entertained throughout.

Thank you to Michele Gorman and HarperCollins UK for a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Nelly is an instagram influencer who has had her wedding paid for in exchange for a magazine feature. The only problem? No fiancé. She’s been dumped during wedding plan. She meets Rafael, a Colombian in the UK on work visa, who needs citizenship or he will have to leave. I think you know where this is going... ⁣

The plot is a bit cliche, but still cute. The book kept my interest. I loved the hashtags that went with Nelly’s narration. That said, I think this book missed the mark. There wasn’t much romantic or character build up between Nelly and Rafael. There were times it could have been really funny, but it was skimmed over. It reminded me of a watered down version of the Unhoneymooners. If you’re looking for a quick rom-com, go for it. It’s a fun read but I don’t think it has much heart to it.⁣

I have been spending all day thinking of how wonderful this novella was! I finished it yesterday after work.
-
Nelly has the perfect job as an influencer. It's so perfect she even got her wedding for free! Well close enough with a magazine sponsoring the event. Until her groom decides last minute that he needs space, and runs away to Spain. She now has no hubby-to-be and no way to pay back the magazine. Nellie is introduced to Rafael, a gorgeous Colombian who is about to be deported due to his expired Visa. She decides to take extreme measures, to marry Rafael. -
-
The perfect sweet novella to read for any romance fans of a sweet HEA. It's a reverse of The Proposal with the charm of Sophie Kinsella.

Warm, lovely romance: Nelly WILL be a bride!👰

I loved this quick, light read. Michele Gorman/Lilly Bartlett is one of my go-to authors for warm, feel-good stories and this one did not disappoint. Heroine Nelly NEEDS her wedding and when her fiance distances himself she lucks onto handsome Rafael who proves perfectly ready to step in as her new fiance. Rafael is a great character, fun, full of positivity and constantly nudging Nelly past her limits. His gorgeous friend Mabs and Nelly's persistent former fiance Matt are the flies in the ointment of the wedding but the story never gets angtsy and the ending is truly scrumptious.

With the world so dark, grim and depressing, this story was the perfect pick-me-up respite!

THE CONFETTI PACT by Michele Gorman writing as Lilly Bartlett was freaking cute! It’s an adorable novella about Nelly, an up and coming influencer, who is jilted by a not that great fiancé. 💍This leaves her with an entire wedding basically planned, paid for, and ready to be covered for a massive magazine feature that is sure to rocket her into influencer stardom.

Enter Rafael, he works in her building, and needs a visa. They agree to help each other out and get married for purely business but as they enter the microscope of social media, magazine features, and friends excitement over the wedding story and wedding planning, the pressure of keeping their true intentions for getting married a secret begins to get to Rafael and Nelly.

Will they make it to the big day without a public scandal especially as Nelly’s ex wants back in on the action?

I really enjoyed this novella, it was easy to read and pretty cute. 🎉It was just the right amount of fun and upbeat! I was giggling at Rafael’s ideas for the wedding decorations😂, but much preferred his food suggestions over Nelly’s.

My six word review:

This was such a great romance! Nelly is an up and coming social media star and is engaged to Matt. Their wedding is going to be featured in a magazine and Nelly received a large advance for the feature. Everything is great until Matt calls off the wedding. Nelly has to come up with a plan b because she's already spent the advance.
Raphael works at Nelly's company and his visa is about to expire. Nelly and Raphael decide to marry each other. Problems solved, right? Not exactly!

This story is a quick read and laugh out loud funny and comes out on February 12. You can get the ebook this month for just $2.99! I highly recommend this book!

This was a really cute story, with the perfect amount of cheese! I liked the forced marriage trope, and I found Nelly's desire to quit her job to become an influencer super relatable! It honestly felt like the book version of your favorite Hallmark movie. The only thing I will say is I do wish the book had been a little longer. The story felt a bit rushed at times, and I would have liked more time with the characters, specifically Nelly and Rafael, to get a chance to see their chemistry heat up a little more. This story is one to turn to when you're in the mood for a light, quick read.

Bridget Jones meets Notting Hill

I picked up this delicious rom com ebook while it was on sale with the hope of diving into something a bit more lighthearted and fun, and I was not at all disappointed! From the beginning I knew I wanted to love it. The main character, Nelly is so relatable, parts of it literally had me laughing out loud, and the ending was such a pleasant surprise. I'm left with that warm fuzzy feeling and a longing to read more from this author. Definitely recommend ❤
