My Dad is awesome!
He's smarter than Einstein, more intuitive than Sherlock Holmes, more athletic than Superman, faster than a Nascar Driver, Stronger than Thor and Sasquatch combined and is a better cook than a Michelin Chef. It's all true...Right, Dad?
An imaginative boy and his dad (who is as much a playful kid as his son) have some fun (and not so fun adventures together, oops) inspiring the relationships of Dad-figures everywhere.
A fun, loving read, perfect for the Dad in your life or for a Father's Day storytime; I really appreciate the bygone era style of illustrations too. They're funny and vibrant.

Hello, friends! Our book today is Dad: The Man, The Myth, The Legend, written by Mifflin Lowe and illustrated by Dani Torrent, a fun tribute to the unique awesomeness of dads.
A young bespectacled boy welcomes the reader by proudly presenting the one, the only – his Dad! A man of practically supernatural strength, genius intellect, the courage of a lion and a heart of pure gold. He does all manner of incredible things; for instance last week, when he saved the boy from the attack of a massive jungle python (afterwards necessitating the purchase of a new garden hose). He makes the boy’s favorite dinner: spaghetti with M&M’s, chocolate sauce and potato chips (Mom’s on standby with the takeout menu, no reason why). He can even FLY (sure, technically on a trampoline… that he technically broke during his landing). But perhaps best of all, he’s supportive, encouraging, nurturing, and an all-around great dad – and truly, that’s all he needs to be a hero in his son’s eyes.
Very sweet. Beginning with a comedically grandiose version of “superhero” dad, this sweet tale unfolds with humor and fondness, gradually moving past the more er, exaggerated escapades of Dad to the simple and sweet things that show his devotion to his family (a personal favorite was a scene in which the son, devastated by an embarrassingly bad haircut, is cheered up by his father proudly getting a matching one). There are plenty of nudges and winks to adults that make this a great tale for old and young bookworms to share, and the charming mid-century-inspired art is packed with personality. The length was fine for a storytime, and JJ enjoyed the family’s antics. A delightful ode to an everyday superhero, and it’s Baby Bookworm approved.

„Tata. Człowiek, mit, legenda” to opowieść o tacie z perspektywy dziecka. W tym przypadku bohaterem książeczki jest tata Franka, silniejszy niż Wielka Stopa, potężniejszy niż Thor, mądrzejszy niż Einstein. Tata, który nigdy się nie męczy, nigdy nie ma dość i który ma wiele talentów. Potrafi na przykład czytać książki z zamkniętymi oczami, wystrzelić dzieci w kosmos lub przygotować jedyny w swoim rodzaju obiad: spaghetti z czekoladowymi drażami, sosem czekoladowym i chipsami. Który potrafi wesprzeć w trudnych chwilach, pocieszyć, przytulić i jak nikt inny umie okazywać miłość na milion różnych sposobów. I który dla dziecka jest autorytetem, jego osobistym bohaterem. Mimo wad (zazwyczaj zauważanych przez mamę, która czuwa również nad tatą) jest idealny, dokładnie taki jak ma być. Ta krótka opowieść jest wspaniałą, chwytającą za serce historią, która w przepiękny sposób wyraża te wszystkie uczucia wobec ojców, których często nie potrafimy wyrazić słowami. Nada się idealnie na prezent dla taty, z okazji Dnia Taty, jego urodzin, imienin lub dowolnego święta. Będzie też dobra do wspólnego czytania z dzieckiem.
Opowieść o tacie wydana została w wielkim, robiącym wrażenie formacie i wzbogacona wyjątkowymi ilustracjami, których autorem jest nagradzany artysta – Dani Torrent. Kartki książki są dość grube, a druk duży, dlatego tę książeczkę dziecko może czytać samo. No i jest naprawdę bardzo kolorowa i przyciąga wzrok. Ta niewielka, trzydziestodwustronicowa opowieść daje wiele frajdy także dorosłemu czytelnikowi, chociaż skierowana jest do młodszych dzieci. Jest zabawna, głównie przez fragmenty które odnoszą się do mamy, której stanowczość i opanowanie zawsze ogarną chaos stworzony przez bohaterskiego tatę. Bawi, ale potrafi też wzruszyć. Krótka, ale pełna wartościowej treści. Na końcu książki mały czytelnik znajdzie niespodziankę – specjalne miejsce na opowieść o jego wyjątkowym tacie. Może stworzyć własną listę, opowieść lub namalować rysunek. Na początku natomiast dziecko znajdzie miejsce, w którym może wpisać własną dedykację lub napisać tylko dla kogo i od kogo jest ta niezwykła książeczka.

An adorable gift for dads with kids aged 8+ and who want to read to their kids more.
Children often think their dads can do anything - save them from snakes, fly to the moon, become a detective, etc. Dad The Man, The Myth, The Legend plays out the fantasies of everything good a dad could be to a child.
This book does have a high reading level, using words like “finito,” “certified genius,” “python,” and “spectacular.” The art is stunning and cleverly fills in the gaps for some of the big vocabulary words. The book has a few lines specifically written for mom and dad to poke fun at each other too, but they may go over a child’s head and lead to “why” questions.
Overall, a cute story from a child’s perspective about how cool his dad is.

A little boy knows his Dad is an awesome man. He's strong, can fly, likes to race, and is a great detective. And his Dad partakes into fulfilling his son's imaginative playfulness, much to the (humorous) chargin of Mom. Truly does Dad bring positive inspiration to his son.
Simple, and yet very imaginative in its narrative, this story promotes the close dynamic of a father-son relationship. It shows that Dads can be a provider & strong while being empathetic and sensitive to their families too. And also show a little humor in what Dad can do and what he shouldn't be trying to do, according to Mom. The text is livid and flows well with the retro-style art that pulls off the vibrancy of the kid's imagination. Perfect for a Father's Day read, it is an ode to all fathers indeed.

I completely loved this book. It is charming, funny, clever and as full of love as any picture book I've read. I loved this family with the mom in the background doing her thing and the dad being who he is...the hero of the boy's life. This father deserves the accolades. The art is modern and retro, perfect for the story. Fantastic book!

A look at a father and his family through the loving and trusting eyes of a ten year old. A delightful, heartwarming and fun read, that I'm sure all dads and especially moms can relate too.
