There is evidence that the king’s passion for Anne was far more marked in this letter Henry penned to her during their courtship in 1528:
“In debating with myself the contents of your letters I have been put to a great agony; not knowing how to understand them, whether to my disadvantage as shown in some places, or to my advantage as in others. I beseech you now with all my heart definitely to let me know your whole mind as to the love between us; for necessity compels me to plague you for a reply, having been for more than a year now struck by the dart of love, and being uncertain either of failure or of finding a place in your heart and affection.”
Still, he continued to burn for her, shoving past anything in his path in order to win her. Due to Anne’s stubbornness in her stance against relations with the king that assured no lasting benefits, the king was required to resort to more drastic measures if he wished to secure a relationship with the woman he lusted for. It seemed that Anne had a propensity for becoming involved with men who were unavailable.
I have given up reading by Katherine Howard when I read the conjecture about Katherine being complicit in her relationship with Mannox when available documents suggest she was uncomfortable. It kind of reads like a school essay but seems to rely on conjecture in part or possibly wanting to find controversy or modern assumptions were used. There are inaccuracies. There is the odd typo. I'm not sure if they started with Jane Seymour to try to be different. Other inaccuracies include c section for Jane and her attending the Christening of Edward. Sorry it seems non- fiction and seems like trying to present facts so comments are making that assumption.
