Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).
If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.
Note: WorldCat is an excellent resource for finding author information and contents of anthologies.
I started this but couldn't finish, and the sad part is, the narration is good. The format of this audiobook is terrible!
The chapters aren't named, so there's no way to navigate through the different stories.
And there's such a small pause between each story, it feels like they run into each other. And it also seems like these were all recorded separately before they were collected together because each one starts with the same copyright info.
This book would benefit from an introduction to each story or maybe a little background regarding each. Also, the narrator is somewhat plain in his narration and lacks the passion that some of these stories require. It's almost as if he was paid to do a job and did it as perfunctorily as he could. Most of these stories I've read before, but it is good to be reminded of them and the authors.
This is a cluster of 50 stories some classics. Some of the titles are: The gift of the Magi, The curious case of Benjamin Button, The Declaration of Independence, The pit and the pendulum and many more. I wanted to listen to this as many I needed to read. I enjoyed most of them. The narration was good and kept your interest.I am glad I spent the time to listen to these stories.
